In their past six games, they've only managed to pick up two points. Brentford 1-1 at their home, whilst they drawn away to Port Vale 0-0. Alan Hardy says he is happy to pay transfer fees for Notts County's targets, so long as it's within reason and fits with the club's financial structure. The Magpies owner funded the arrival of Lewis Alessandra on Friday when he agreed an undisclosed fee with Hartlepool United for the player. Alessandra was the second signing to arrive at Meadow Lane, after Terry Hawkridge's arrival from National League champions Lincoln City. "It is really important that we get the balance right b

Darrell Clarke has claimed that his "weak" Bristol Rovers players were "bullied" throughout their 4-2 defeat to Notts County in Friday night's FA Cup first-round tie. The Magpies found themselves two goals down within the first quarter-hour but spectacularly turned it round through strikes from Ryan Yates, Jon Stead and Jorge Grant. “That 90 minutes sums up our whole season, we are so inconsistent,” Clarke told the Bristol Post. “We were weak and bullied – we caved in and they got

Carl Dickinson has defended Notts County's style of play and is adamant that winning promotion from League Two would be great for "shutting a few people up". The Magpies have received criticism this season over how they play, which has seen plenty of moments in games where the ball is lumped up top. Dickinson, however, thinks accusations of being a long-ball side are wide of the mark and says their play is "effective" as they aim to make it five games unbeaten at Chesterfield on Sunday
