  1. Tomorrow we (well, the team) travel to Morpeth Town for which I assume will be the first time ever. Morpeth currently sit 16th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, the same division as Basford United and Grantham Town, with nine points from seven games. One interesting aspect of this one is the reunion with one Liam Noble... Morpeth are actually allowed to have fans in, but as the FA deems us an "elite" club (which we are in many respects, of course), this one will be behind closed doors. However, for those of you in the UK the club will be showing it on the live stream - check the official site if you fancy it. Personally I can't say I'm too bothere…

Pilling 4 For a debut, doesnt inspire confidence with his distribution but to his credit, wasnt phased by the Morpeth tactics of crowding him out in the 6 yd box Brindley 6 Cool head, gave momentum down the right Graham 4.5 Too many misplaced passes, should be standing out against teams like this. Took his goal well, losing his marker Lacey 6 Goal saving header towards the end Chicksen 4 Just not sure about him, got caught out defensively too JOB 6 Experienced head Rodrigues 5 Pitch a nightmare for a cultured footballer Wolfe 5 One good run but midfield was bogged down today Walker 4 Feeling disappointed, I expect far more class …

slocombe 6.5 - kept largely not busy but reliable when needed brindley 8 - good going forward and solid at the back dke 7.5 - he put another good shift in and worked well with job and rodders turner 7 - one of his better performances in notts colours rawlinson 8 - absolutely solid the best defender on the pitch for me rodders 7 - did some neat touches and passes but was not a threat enough for me reeves 8.5 - my man of the match because he ran the show and allowed doyle to have more time on the ball doyle 7 - several great long passes and just focused on getting notts forward job 5 - not much to say, he did not play great but he did not play poorly either…

  6. This will be a tough game and for me could define the season, it is a real litmus test for the quality of our squad. Stockport are 9th with 19 points having played only 9 games, a 2.1 ppg average. Notts on the other hand are 7th with 20 points, but have played 12 games with a 1.67 ppg average. With that points per game average so far, Stockport's projected finish would be 1st, with only Torquay having a better ppg thus far (2.46). Notts are really play-off contenders with our showing so far this season, and given the results and performances, nobody would really argue that. There are limitations on this though, a poor run of only 3 games (for example 2 losses and a d…

Hard to pick a Woking player from a well drilled defensive team performance, but I thought Lofthouse, on loan from Oxford, stood out with his speed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyran_Lofthouse

Slocombe 7 One good save, one mis communication. Brindley 5 One good shot but sloppy passes feature again Rawlinson 6 solid defence Turner 5.5 Positioning for marking suspect DKE 6.5 Some good forward positions and crosses Doyle 6 Tried to make things happen Reeves 6.5. A goal scoring cross but Wootton failed JOB 4 Found it difficult to find space Walker 4 Lightweight, seemingly going missing for long periods Enzio 5.5 Should have scored...just couldnt beat his marker for long periods Wootton 4 Golden chance missed in 1st minute. Slocombe 6.5 Always look commanding of his area Brindley 6.5 Much improved, a wonderful ball in the first half that should have been converted Turner 5.5 One rating point deducted for 3 sloppy moments in the first 5 minutes. Otherwise solid Rawlinson 6 Did what he needed to DKE 6.5 Mr versatility, full of energy. Doyle 5.5 Again some sloppy passing, actually improved in last 10 minutes, to show his experience Reeves 7 Covered the ground, like an old Andy Hughes ( for those old enough to remember) Ruben 6 Tries to make things happen. A stupid free kick given away, saw him subbed immediately afterwards Sam 5.5 Not his day but thought …

Slocombe 7.5 A quiet away day but pulled off a superb free kick save DKE 7 Industrious performance linking play on the right Rawlinson 7 One dodgy moment but well handled forward threats Turner 6.5 Overshadowed today by his partner. Didnt do a lot wrong Chicksen 5 Poor passing at times, defensively OK Doyle 5.5 Less influential than normal, tired towards the end Reeves 6 Thumping shot against the post. Crowded out when going forward Enzio 6 Getting involved more, especially defensive work but nothing went for him Ruben 7 Some great chances went begging but looks so comfortable on the ball, trying to make things happen Sam 7 Ph…

It is not often to see Slocombe being outshone...but Harry Isted looks to have a great future. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Isted I have always been impressed with Dean Parrett, pity he didn't sign for Notts back in 2013... always looked a quality player and Ardley signed him for Wimbledon. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Parrett "I've liked Dean ever since he was at Spurs," Dons boss Neal Ardley told the club website. "He's very dynamic, very quick and technically excellent. I think he has goals in him." Parrett is Wimbledon's fourth signing of the summer following their promotion to the third tier via the League Two play-offs. …

  20. This Friday at 19:45 BST we finally play at a home, in what feels like a lifetime since the last home game. Our opponents, Wealdstone FC. The game was moved (assumingly on request of the police) to the Friday as a small club across the river were supposed to be playing on Saturday. They're not playing on Saturday anymore, they're playing on Sunday. Additionally, there's no fans allowed to either game anyway. Yet, we still play on Friday. All makes sense, fine logic. Moving on... Friday's Opponents: Wealdstone FC are most famous for... well.... Can we have him at the top of the Kop on Friday, screaming 'you've got no fans' to absolutely nobody, b…

Slocombe 6 Just caught out of position but generally a safe pair of hands brindley 4 Defensively OK but offers nothing going forward Rawlinson 5.5 A moment of sloppy play put us under pressure but generally defensive work good Turner 6 Much improved, some strong defensive headers DKE 6 A yellow card for the team, but everything Notts built came down his channel Doyle 6 Dictating play where he could Reeves 5 Much quieter and less influential... Perhaps have to sit in a holding role Enzio 7 Enzio closing down for the 3rd goal, unheard of. Great finish for the first Rodrigues 8 Someone on Twitter described as Masson like influence. If …
