  1. Slocombe: 5 - Their first goal was a good strike, might feel he could've done better. but couldn't do anything about their 2nd. Brindley - 5 - Doesn't look the same player that was bombing down the right when he first signed last season. Feel a bit sorry for him as when he does go forward, there's no midfield inside for him to play to. Defensively his side was OK. Rawlinson - 5 - Didn't think he did a great deal wrong, but can't give any member of a defence that let Denton and gang put 2 past them more than a 5. The right hand side of defence was OK. Ben Turner - 2 - He is still a donkey and largely went unpunished today. Nice how he let Denton go and stan…

Slocombe 5 Didnt really have a lot to do, got something on the ball but not enough to prevent Halifax's equaliser Brindley 4 Too many sloppy passes and always checks inside rather than over lapping going forward Rawlinson 5 Perhaps should have pulled the guy down in the final minute. Connel was Ok rest of the match Lacey 7 Superb block, goes in where it hurts and was hurt DKE 6 Much stronger on the left side for the team Reeves 5 Good shot but expecting much more Doyle 6 Kept midfield ticking JOB 4 Faded second half, legs gone? Enzio 3 and thats being kind, like playing as a team with only 10 men. Needless boot forward at end of 1st…

Our forthcoming match against the Hatters has been postponed as four of their players have The Plague. Obviously I wish all concerned a speedy recovery and two symptom-free weeks in front of their XBoxes. So our next match is at Halifax a week tomorrow. Makes you wonder if this season will ever get finished. It's chaotic already.

  11. Slocombe - 5 - Nice assist for their 3rd. McCrory - 3.5 - I know he was here as an emergency because of Covid, but I'm just rating on pure performance here. Not a right back. Not fit. Should have probably played Rawlinson there. Assisted the first goal. Rawlinson - 4 - Not great. Complacent. Lacey - 4.5 - Not great. Complacent. Chicksen - 6 - Did OK for me. Doyle - 6 - OK Reeves - 6 - Decent through ball for the first. Rodrigues - 7 - MOM. Scored, some great footwork and work rate strong throughout. Enzio - 4.5 - Poor throughout. Where has the old Enzio gone? Wootton - 4 - Started the season on fire but he was very poor today. …

  13. Started by Chris,

It's that time where we all have our say on this upcoming weekend's fixture against Dover Athletic. Pre-Season needs to be put to the back of our minds, but important signs of a decent performance would be encouraging. It's going to be interesting to see if Neal Ardley persists with the diamond formation, along with who will make his starting 11. I fully expect the first player on the team sheet to be Michael Doyle, although, I had hoped that we would have a new captain this season. I'm sure Doyle will organise us well on the pitch, as he's the eyes and voice of Ardley on the pitch. Will Casper Sloth make a start? I can see Kyle Wootton and, Elisha Sam star…

Slocombe 6 Well protected, Sutton were limited to 2 real chances Brindley 5.5 Solid but limited effect going forward Rawlinson 6 Does what it says on the tin Lacey 6 Defended well, limited opportunity to play the long pass DKE 6.5 Up against Sutton's best player, thought he did OK Reeves 6 Roll the sleeves up and keep position Doyle 6.5 Another captain's performance JOB 6 a solid midfield blocking any real creativity from Sutton Enzio 5.5 So needs to get into the game more than he does Rodrigues 6 Some good touches , still finding his feet. promising Wootton 7 Lone striker , played well and when you think there is nothing,…

DKE credit for the pinpoint pass to Wootton for the first, and the step over to set up Wootton

  17. Started by Super_Danny_Allsopp,

Slocombe - 6 - The second goal could have been pushed anywhere but where it was. Perhaps a harsh criticism. DKE - 4.5- He was poor. I said in the ratings against Altrincham that DKE was pushing to replace Brindley as the first-choice RB. On this performance, Brindley will feel at ease. Poor distribution, beaten constantly down his side. Rawlinson - 6.5 - More comfortable alongside Lacey. Graham - 5.5 - Won a lot of headers but clumsy at times in possession. Him and DKE made a mess of the 1st and he let his man go for the 2nd. McCrory - 6.5 - Needs time to get back up to speed but was OK. Barnet's threat came primarily from their wingers. Roberts…

  18. Slocombe 7 - Made a good few saves in the first half and always does his job well. Not much chance with a fantastic strike for their goal. Brindley - 7 - Good interplay going forward at times. Still worries me, often out of position and not closing down his man quick enough. There is a case for DKE starting in his position. Rawlinson - 7.5 - Seems more lean and mobile than last year? Much better with the ball at his feet too. For a 'does the basics right' CB, he has improved with the ball. Lacey - 7.5 - Usual Lacey. Calm and composed. DKE - 8 - Never gives up, tenacious and always battling. Showed some good touches and joined in the attack, too. …

It's currently HT. 0-2 York. I can't remember the last time we were so poor. As has been common in this pre-season, we are again in a diamond and again it isn't working. The build up play is sooooooo sloooooooow, I think a pub teams over 35s will manage to get 11 players back behind the ball before we even get out our own half. The quality of our passing is shocking. We have not troubled them once, have we even been inside their box? Get a ******* grip Notts!

Slocombe 7 Solid, looks an EFL keeper Brindley 4 Never confident in defending, to be able to read the game Chicksen 4 Too many misplaced passes, hurried Rawlinson 6 Top Man Graham 6 King Pin at the back Doyle 5 Tried to instigate things Reeves 6 Good but midfield look like strangers Roddy 7 Some good glimpses of things to come Thomas 4 Just not sure, whether another year is catching him up Wootton 5 One feels he should be doing better, needs to up the work rate Roberts 6 Marked man and dispatched with a cynical tackle

  23. Started by Piethagoram,

  24. Been sitting waiting for the match to come on live via the clubs YouTube channel, this will be the first real game that I have seen since the playoff final. The line-up, Notts look more geared towards creative passing and setting the tempo. All the players having a touch, which in a friendly is important. It's all about fitness.

  25. Started by DangerousSausage,

I watched this on the live stream provided by the club (and a very good live stream it was too!). What did you all make of it? Did any of you go? It was good to finally watch a match with fans there! The match itself was little more than a warm-up exercise against very limited opposition, but it did give us the chance to see some of the new signings in action. Reeves was the one who really caught my eye - technically strong, always involved, set up both goals and generally made us tick. I was expecting him to look rusty, but he looked about ready for the season to start. Rodrigues looks a very attack-minded player, had some good ideas and caused them plenty of p…
