  5. I have no plans to abandon Twitter, at all. As the very first Notts fan and fan account to join Threads, I take great pride in this milestone. I realise that social media isn't going anywhere, but with fans making home to networks such as Blue Sky - I believe it warrants a PON account. This has been encouraged by @ARLukomski, which at first I wasn't all that taken to doing but in hindsight it does seem to be as equal to Threads. You can follow Pride of Nottingham on Blue Sky here. I openly acknowledge that the site, and social media channels have been quiet, but this is for personal reasons. I greatly appreciate your understanding. My aim is to ensure Faceb…

  6. Started by Chris,

In the early days of the Pride of Nottingham, I committed to writing regular newsletters, filled with articles and content from the site. Despite my efforts, the low subscriber engagement was discouraging. I wondered if perhaps my content wasn't resonating or if I was missing the mark somehow. Yet, these newsletters were among the first, predating the club's embrace of email marketing as a valuable tool. For me, the goal was always to inform members about news and encourage their participation on the site. Now, with some exciting projects on the horizon, I'm closer than ever to achieving realistic targets. The newsletters will provide a balanced insight into the…

  7. Started by Chris,

I'm very grateful to all the members who've kept PON updated during the off-season. When things are quiet, it's crucial to keep plugging away, and those interactions really count when it comes to the times when fans start getting excited about the upcoming season. With pre-season on the horizon, I'm putting in the graft to get everything back up to scratch, all the while making sure I'm organised so that we don't have a repeat in the future. We're still working on sprucing up the users' post area, which will bring in some handy information and show various details about a poster, like their age if they've got that enabled. Their post count, reputation and more. The p…

  8. Started by Chris,

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the lack of content. I am trying to organise myself into a routine that will help me over the season and into the future. I have been focusing a lot of time on doing this and sorting other issues that have come up. It's been quite slow in regard to news, but I have missed some, and I don't want this to worry anyone. Social media-wise, I haven't had the time either, but I will make up for that. When we are closer to the start of the 2024-25 season, you have my word that PON will be all systems go. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

I'd like to highlight the benefits of following certain sections of the Pride of Nottingham website. This is a simple way to stay updated on content that interests you, while also keeping track of your favourite parts and members of our site. It requires a bit of time, but it's definitely worth it, and I'd appreciate it if members could spare a moment to do this. Our community is expanding every month, and everyone has their own preferred method. However, this underused feature makes it easier to stay engaged. You can even opt to receive grouped email notifications instead of individual ones. Please take a moment to read the below post, as I will list some …

  10. Dear Pride of Nottingham members, We have some exciting updates to share with you this month! The Pride of Nottingham is still undergoing work to improve our features and bring you even more great content. We’re thrilled to announce the return of the very first Notts County podcast, the PONcast. A skilled programmer is fixing an app we use for PONcast and to show the league, teams, and fixtures. We’re also happy to report that our mobile navigation has returned. Guests will now see options for ‘home’, ‘activities’, ‘sign in’, ‘register’ and ‘more’. Members who are signed in will see the third and fourth buttons change to ‘create’ and ‘topicfeed’. We’re still dec…

  11. Started by PON_News,

There have been significant improvements to the PON themes. All three options have been updated and enhanced further to ease the navigation of our website. PON provides members and visitors with three theme options. On desktops, the navigation has been changed to include 'content feeds'. This change has been made to reflect on helping people to navigate the sites more. It also includes the option to create a steam of your own custom preference. Content Feeds > My Activity Streams > "Create New Stream". There's also Unread, content I started, Content I follow, members I follow and content I posted in. Our navigation menu may be tweaked further to …

  12. Started by Chris,

It's not without saying that I care passionately about the Pride of Nottingham and Notts County. Our recent downtime had been caused by a cyberattack, where hacker(s) caused significant damage to our site. This attack is unjustified and the people responsible cannot validate their actions. Football is about unity, whilst rivalry is a natural part of the game. To resort to this type of behaviour is very cowardly and in the long run what did it achieve? No amount of excuses can humanly explain this behaviour. At this stage, I can't go into the full details, but there will be a point where I will provide a further update. I fully believe in transparency and ac…

  13. Hello everyone, As you may know, the Pride of Nottingham is a community-driven initiative that relies on the support of its members to continue providing great content and resources for Notts County fans. We are currently working hard to reach our fundraising goal for next month, and we need your help to make it happen. If you can spare a donation, no matter how small, it would really help us out. Every little bit counts, and your support helps us keep providing awesome content for Notts County fans. Let’s work together to keep the Pride of Nottingham going strong! We can accept donations via PayPal (including card payments from Non-Account holders) and als…

  14. Dear Pride of Nottingham members, Firstly, thank you. @Michael D P, for your generous donation. We apologise for not noticing this sooner. Your kind donation is very much appreciated and has helped pay for the site(s) server. It's really kind of you to donate to the PON site. The past few days, work has undergone to bring back even more of features which has required extensive work. The PON site has been working with an Italian developer who is close to fixing the league table, fixtures, first team application. He has also been tasked with updating the PONcast area, so that the first Notts County podcast ever can return. This has been in the works for …

  15. The Pride of Nottingham website has been updated. With this some of the features and site itself will be a bit querky until I can make sure they're in-keeping with these changes. Our homepage for example needs some care - don't worry about this. Once I can fix the important areas of the site, I will focus on adding content again to the site and returning everything to as it was. I would ask that members bear with me. Whilst asking team members to assist and, check out the team updates as a way to help PON move forward. These are the major things I need to mention: Please don't report any issues yet, as I will be sweeping the site and then asking folks …

  16. There's not been much said from my end, things have just quietly been done and, to a degree, I haven't forced the same level of commitments I have shown in the past seasons. I care immensely about this community, the Pride of Nottingham and of course Notts County. I have mentioned that things have been difficult, both mentally and physically. Which I do not want to go into further because there's really no need, aside from saying the past few years has been challenging for us all. This said, if I don't discuss things about PON itself - then moving forward won't be as easy. Simply because the standard I set myself hasn't been consistent. There's not much I plan t…

Sorry for the downtime, everyone. PON got stuck in a loop for some reason, which brought the website down due to it requiring an important update. However, I wasn't able to resolve this issue in a timely manner. The upgrade process had to be completed manually, with our themes also needing to be re-added - the site should be working as intended. Apologies for not noticing sooner, plus thanks to @Dripsey3 for informing me.

Since early 2013, the Pride of Nottingham has flourished as a fan site dedicated to Notts County Football Club. I'm pleased to say that our host has assisted us with moving to a brand-new server, which performs a lot better than our previous one. The migration didn't take as long as thought, however, DNS propagation is still happening in some parts of the world. The majority of visitors will be absolutely fine, with the UK, Germany, United States, Ireland and Italy all being settled. Our old server had reached its end of life in terms of support, so the move was crucial to keeping things smooth. Please be patient if you experience any downtime.

To all who read this, Merry Christmas and, a happy new year to you! 2020 has been a defining year filled with obstacles and, unknowns - with COVID-19 largely effecting life as we know it. I think reaching this point of the year means we are entitled to appreciate the little things a little more than what we normally would. It's not been an easy one for anyone, I have seen a lot of fans struggling with isolation and, depression. We can take these things for granted at times, especially as supporters of a football club but it makes you grounded. You realize there's more to life and, the scores, matches etc - they just provide a distraction at the end of …

  24. Started by Chris,

I'm not going into a long winded reason behind this, however, I will say for the past two seasons I have pushed selling my artwork and on match days attempting to complete 1/2 spot the ball cards. This has been well supported, but I wouldn't be asking if I could cope by my own means. The suspension to football, the coronavirus and situation we find ourselves in is going to be a task. We should all support each other where possible, so I would like to ask our community to consider donating to PON - https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/donate/ Any support will go to ensuring upkeep is met. Thank you, Chris

  25. If you're considering purchasing one of the many Pride of Nottingham prints, please be aware that the deadline for Christmas deliveries is on the 18th of this month. All prints are sent out by 2nd delivery as standard; however, you can pay to bump it up to 1st class if you wish. The cost of doing so is just £2.50. After the 18th, potential deliveries are most likely to take a while longer and are doubtful to be received by the 25th. We have been advised by the Royal Mail who we use as our courier. To browse what prints are available, please visit - https://prideofnottingham.co.uk/store/ Thank you for your support.
