http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2017/matches/live/day=-6/session=1/match=2020165/index.html Easily the worse lose by a Scottish team in European football. The winner was scored by a policeman. Callum McGregor should come back to Notts, the higher standard in L2 will make him a better player..........:-)

  4. A good bit of business (again) by Max Eberl for Gladbach. Arsenal have bough Granit Xhaka for €45 million form Gladbach - or according to the idiots in the British media for an undisclosed sum, can't they even read the English version of Borussia's website?) Gladbach have now spent €15 million of that on Christoph Kramer from the aspirin-makers. So a world cup winner who's already spent 2 years at Borussia on loan and €30 million for a great player (and great servant to Gladbach for 4 years) who doesn't play enough games per season due to suspension.

  5. Right, I'm fed up of all the doom and gloom around here. I had a fantastic weekend and refused to let Notts spoil it. In Germany the hated winter break is over and even the Regionalliga Süd kicked off again with a top two clash between Waldhof Mannheim and Eintracht Trier at the weekend. I was one of the 11,299 in attendance and now really believe that promotion can happen. The atmopshere around the place is fantastic and an incredible contrast to Notts at the moment! Waldhof have a young manager in his third full season, a settled, focused team where every player knows his job and youngsters are given a chance and no little experience and quality either. Last s…

  8. The Bundesliga relegation situation is as tight as the Premier League. With one game left Hannover 96 are doomed with the follwoing still in trouble 15th SG Eintracht Frankfurt 36 pts GD -17 - safe 16th SV Werder Bremen 35 pts GD -16 - play off position (against 1. FC Nuernberg (3rd in 2nd division) 17th VfB Stuttgart 33 pts GD -23 - automatic relegation To complicate matters on the last day Bremen are at home to Frankfurt! Suttgart have to win at Wolfsburg by a lot to stand any chance. If they do, Werder have to beat Eintracht. Poor old VfB - 40 years since their last relegation and Champions only 9 years ago.

  9. Bring it on!! It only requires Gladbach to avoid a 10 goal swing on goal differnce with Scheisse 04 on the last day and they will be 4th. Then one knockout phase match and a kind draw! They did play a friendly in the early 1990's at Filbert St which I went to (2-0 to Borussia I think), before playing Everton in the Centenary of Goodison Park game.

A well deserved 1-1 draw in the red inflatable dinghy means that Gladbach's record against the leather-trousered ones over the last 10 matches is: Won 4, Drawn 3, Lost 3, For 15, Against 13 Bayern are not as good as people think!

Agenst fees in the Bundesliga in 2015. I've highlighted in red those clubs who I think have been badly managed on this criterion and in green those who have been well-managed. Does anyone know how these compare to other countries?

The next round of the Europa League has been drawn and it's Liverpool v Dortmund. Who else saw that coming? The football gods love that sort of stuff. That may well be the end of the road for the reds. On a side note, I have just booked a short break in Liverpool with the missus on the very day that BVB come to town. I'm not sure whether this is a good or a bad thing!

Bayern are (only) five points ahead now after being beaten at home by Mainz 05 on Wednesday. A win for Dortmund and suddenly the title race is wide open again.

They say this is so teams that don't make the champions league don't miss out on revenue, so even if they have a bad se…

A number of posters have indicated that they like german football. I'm happy to organise a trip for PON members next season to a Gladbach home game once their and Notts' fixtures come out in June/July. Who would be interested, and what sort of budget would you be prepared/able to pay to cover transport, match ticket and accomodation?

I do like the choreography at European matches. Here are 2 examples from games @Blackville and I were at a couple of weeks ago. http://prideofnottingham.co.uk/community/gallery/image/932-2015-02-14-152817/ Firstly Gladbach fans before the derby against Koln showing a goat being spanked with the strapline 'in the good old tradition'. Secondly Vitesse fans before the game against Willem II Tilburg.

Many leagues are fairly boring were there is a group of or just one team(s). Which league do you think is the most boring?
