Chaos at the start of the Olympics in Paris Football match is suspended after Moroccan fans invaded the pitch and we're throwing firecrackers at players after Argentina had equalised in the 16th minute of injury time at the end of the match. The game was suspended for two hours, the stadium cleared, and the match resumed. A subsequent VAR check ruled out the Argentinian goal for offside, and Morocco won the game 2:1. Did anyone watch the rerun of the 1966 Cup Final between England & West Germany on channel 4 this evening? It brought back some great memories for me. The luck of the draw has come out in England's favour. England have been given a very favourable last 16 match against Slovakia who are ranked 45th in the FIFA rankings. In the quarter finals, England could play either Switzerland or Italy, who meet in a last 16 match Their semi-final opponents will then come from the eventual winners of Romania vs Netherlands and Austria vs Turkey, so any one of those four teams. On Saturday 6th July at five pm, England meet Switzerland in the Euro 24 quarter finals. England have flattered to deceive in the competition so far. Only a wonder goal by Jude Bellingham saved England in the last minute of injury time at the end of the 90 minutes against Slovakia. And then Harry Kane headed the winner in extra time to take England through. England need to improve if they are to beat an impressive Switzerland side.
