The Stats show that Notts score goals & don't concede when Alassana & David play together. Should Stuart have them both starting a match together so they can forge a deadly partnership?

We've seen it plenty of times in the past, defenders coming on & playing upfront when a forward went off injured in the times when only one substitute was allowed. We've even seen defenders turned into forwards & vice versa in the past on a permanent basis. Notts have used Cundy this season as a forward because of his height up front. Stuart Maynard thinks this tactic may be of use to Notts in certain situations. Notts have quite a lot of tall defenders that Stuart can choose from now that players like McDonald & Ness are fit to play. What do members think of the idea of putting a Notts defender up front if the circumstances dictate. Do you…

I looked up some interesting Statistics comparing the League 2 table of the 6th Oct 2023 with the table today Notts were top of the table this time last year on goal difference after 10 games. They were on 20 points. They had scored 23 goals but conceded 19 with a goal difference of +4. This season they are on 18 points in fifth place 1 point behind the top team. They have scored 17 goals & conceded 9 with a goal difference of +8 So this season the team has conceded 10 goals less than at the same time last season. So I think that shows that Notts have improved defensively, but have scored 6 less goals. Stuart is trying to get the balance…

I'm giving a shout out for Sam Austin who has been putting in some excellent performances this season. Sam will play wherever he is placed in the side by Stuart, & he always does a steady job for the side no matter where he plays. He'll also chip in with a few goals, & get a number of assists to his name during the season. I believe Sam is an integral part of the squad & his versatility is going to be invaluable to Notts as the season goes on. Thoughts?

With Notts having such a professional set up behind the scenes at Meadow Lane, it can only assure teams like Spurs, that their assets will be properly looked after. With all respect to other League 2 teams, who may lack the set up at Notts, the physicality of the league is a deterrent when putting players out on loan, and can be a concern. But as evidenced with the way Abbott has transitioned seamlessly into the Nott playing system, we can benefit from loaning gifted players from premiership teams who are safe in the knowledge, their asset is well looked after. As the article indicates, albeit speculatively, our track record of assisting premiership teams can…

With a much stronger Notts County Squad this season, would you like to see a long FA Cup run? Man City or Man U & Co at Meadow Lane in the 3rd Round would be mouthwatering & a money spinner with the large crowd & TV revenue.

It's almost time until the proper football resumes again but over the pre-season it’s very easy to sometimes just get wrapped up in perceived negatives after losing a few friendlies and equally it’s easy to get carried away with the excitement of all the new signings. So what are your biggest reasons to be hopeful about next season and equally what is giving you cause for concern? You can have as many points as you like – but just try to balance every negative point with a positive one too! - No massive lists of just negatives, plenty of that on social media ???????? So here are mine to kick us off! Reasons to be concerned: 1. Losing an amazing goal scor…
