Those were very good guesses with Frank Vincent and John Bostock. I wouldn't put anything past you @CliftonMagpie. ;)

I see you're holding your cards this round quite close to your chest, I think you may have given a bit of a big clue with the first part. We shall see. I am surprised. @super_ram hasn't had a stab at who it could be.

I suspect that this is Frank Vincent, with his recent release.

Yes, he has retired. He had a very successful career, though not without its lows. His presence would divide opinions until you saw him play. Most of the clubs he had stints with would call him a lege

@CliftonMagpie, you’ve provided so much detail that my brain is doing the cha-cha! @super_ram, I am loving it. If you could see me right now, you’d wonder why my tash is doing the tango. ????

Has me stumped does this. The only name I came up with was Ian Hendon, but he didn’t play as a centre half.

I am thoroughly impressed by the responses to this game! The thoughtful and well-reasoned explanations are a impressive to the depth of knowledge and engagement from those participating. I'll make every effort to contribute to the discussion in a timely manner if I'm able to provide valuable input. Cheers for the insightful discussion!

Round 8 has arrived and it's uncertain whether it will be challenging or straightforward. The hope is that it will be more difficult and require several rounds of clues. Best of luck to all!

Clue: This person is an English football coach and former professional footballer. They began their career with a Premier League side and went on to play for several Football League teams before playing in Non-league. They returned to one of their former teams as a joint player/manager before departing at the end of a season. Can you guess who this person is?

Did he spend much time at Notts? I believe I may have several ideas, but I would like to narrow it down.

@Fan of Big Tone - no, neither of those two players.

In my opinion, he didn’t spend much time at Notts. His career wasn’t as successful as @liampie’s. I don’t want to comment on that. However, he is known for participating in many charity games.

Round 9

Clue: This person was born in a region of the UK known for its textile industry and started their career with a football club located in Greater Manchester. They were voted as the greatest-ever in their position by fans of a certain club. They also represented their country in two sports. Can you guess who it is?

Same here @Fan of Big Tone. The represented their country at two sports has thrown me as I’m thinking football and cricket logically, but can only think of William Gunn, but he didn’t play for a Manchester team. The other logical guess is Kevin Nolan, but he didn’t play for his country. I’m stumped.

Guys, feel free to ask questions. If you don't know, that's the only other way you will get closer.

He represented his other sport in the late 80s. His time at Notts may have been forgotten, but he remains a legend with the club where he made his name. He identified himself as a national of another country.
