Sacked by Patrick Vieira and brought back by Roy Hodgson, Derry never deserved to be sacked in the first place.

It is evident that Crystal Palace holds great significance to Shaun Derry. Despite being sacked in such a manner, he chose to return to the club so soon. Good luck to him.

I maybe in the minority here. I could never get to reason during his managerial reign at Notts "He is one of our own"...for someone who played most of his football at the top 2 divisions, his style of football at Notts was truly woeful... and don't get me started on the number of loan signings:D

I feel the same about how many managers were compared to Jimmy Sirrel or connected to him, just in an effort to get people on-side. I think Shaun Derry could be a good manager; he was restricted quite heavily at Notts, the loans were most likely due to budget restraints. The good old, "I won't put money into the club due to a lack of support".

Personally, I feel he would have taken Notts straight back up if he remained in charged. Likewise, if we hadn't sacked Ricardo Moniz we would have done much betetr that season in the long term.

Shaun Derry’s back at Crystal Palace? I am pleased for him. He is one of our own and I always wish the best for former Notts players.

It’s great to see that his services are in demand. His return to Crystal Palace shows that he has something to offer the club beyond just his connection to the fans. I wish him all the best.

Good luck to Shaun Derry with Crystal Palace. I hope he stays there longer this time around and doesn’t get fired for something silly.

Shaun Derry is one of our own, a person who has a passion for Notts. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out here. Good luck to him at Palace.
