I’ve seen far worse blunders. Not looking over your shoulder is a common mistake. At least the lad didn’t succumb to his own pressure and gave it a try. We had a much worse goalkeeper that season.

roy carroll had a few howlers, as did scott loach. i liked ryan schofield he tried but i dont think he was the right fit for the situation we were in. i am sure its made him a stronger keeper having experienced his time here,

@Piethagoram I'm now holding you responsible for the FA Cup performance. It seems the defenders were trying to outdo the goalkeepers! They were after your title of 'worst defenders'. Just a bit of fun, of course!  ???? 

Over the years, we’ve had subpar players in every position, not just goalkeepers.

I shudder to imagine what the worst goalkeeper mistake has been. I’m doing my utmost to forget about these types of nightmares. Once you’ve seen them, they’re hard to forget! The best advice is to try not to remember them.

If we won anyway, I suppose it wasn't the end of the world. Schofield wasn't the best choice that season - we ended up finishing that season with a very young keeper and centre halves who (understandably) couldn't cope with the pressure we were under. But that's probably because we weren't exactly the most appealing club to join at that time.
