Welcome to 21 year old Midfielder, Jack Hinchy who comes with excellent credentials.

Jack was youth Captain at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Gives Notts another option in defensive midfield area.

Richard Montague commented, "Jack has similar characteristics to Scott Robertson, he’s all action, effective at breaking up play & a strong passer of the ball"

Notts midfield, as well as defence is well covered now, would like to see a striker and more options in the attacking midfield area.

I'm not sure what to make of the signing. It's good that we've signed a defensive midfielder, but I'm not sure if he'll be pushing to start. I could be pleasantly surprised, but either way, he will have my support.

its an interesting signing, he looks like a potential signing more for the future but it does give us more depth. the competition in midfield can only be a good thing.

His stats from his loan spell at Shrewsbury

PLD 12
Accurate passes - 185/258 (71.7%)
Chances created - 6
Passes into final third - 52
Accurate long balls - 21
Dispossessed - 1
Tackles won - 6
Recoveries - 29
Ground duels won - 25/49 (51%)
Aerial duels won - 5/11 (45.5%)

Happy with that, in Palmer and Edwards we’ve got two experienced CMs, so another younger player with potential is perfect. I’d say there’s some very good competition in midfield now and both Crowley and Austin could always be used deeper if needed.

Always reassuring to read good comments from fans at his last club, they are usually the harshest critics! And he couldn't have been that far off potentially getting into Brighton's squad if he’d been training with their first team. The premier league was probably a step too far, too early, but hopefully he can thrive with us.

By what he said at his interview, I don't think he's come here to sit on the bench. He wants a first team place. I think this could be potentially, a very good signing for Notts.

Brighton fans are saying he was on the cusp of being a regular in their first team.

Question will be if he can cope with the physicality of league 2.

Ed Francis mark II seems like a good signing, but players like him always need to be pushed. I think he’ll integrate well and should get game time in matches where we want to rest others. I’m pleased we have a defensively-minded midfielder. There’s talk that Curtis Edwards can play anywhere in midfield, and we also have Scott Robertson, which gives us plenty of options.
