Two part question.

 

One How many Notts players that have gone into management can you name?

 

Two Which players from the last 10 yrs to wear the bk and white could you see doing well in management and why?

not sure how many ex players have but would think lee hughes would make a good manager.

There's about six/seven that I can name.

There's quite a few managing abroad, there's a couple in charge of international teams and the more I think about the higher it goes past seven. Majority seem to be players from before 00's.

It takes a special under standing to become a manager, you don't have to be a great player but knowing what makes one is vital.

Roy Keane is no manager.

Would he have the self discipline when things don't go his way?

i think nicky wroe could go into management, he seems to have a good understanding of the game. i would be surprised if mike edwards remains around as a coach or whatever he does, he could also do a job as a manager.

i have no idea how many are managing clubs but its a tough break if you start off slowly.

We have had quite a few players over the years that have tried management, but most end up in non-leagues somewhere. Not that many that make it in the 92 league clubs.

Charlie is the obvious answer, Martin O'Neil (if you can count him).... It took me awhile to think of these, anyone else?

Possible managers for me would be Mike Edwards, Alan Smith & Gary Jones from the current squad, also I reckon Jordan Cranston would make a good manager when his time playing is up

I do not think Lee Hughes would be a good enough role model for management, he would make a handy coach. I am not sure any of our current crop or previous players could make the grade, usually you move into coaching and then into management, we have not seen many move into this area.

I think steady Eddie is an obvious one if he moves from fitness to full coaching.

Not many of you on here will remember Richie Barker who joined Notts from Derby in 1969 and made 112 appearances scoring 37 goals and went on to manage Shrewsbury, Stoke, Notts County and West Brom amongst others.

As for prospective managers Dean Yates, Mike Edwards and Mark Stallard.

I reckon bishop would be a good manager when he's finished playing.

Are we counting caretaker roles... Johnno, obviously Shorty, Bara was at Scunny I believe, and I do think Killer would have made a great Manager

Neal Bishop is a good call, how he's moved from divisions is a sign of his hard work. He could become an excellent manager!
