Martin Allen

Featured Replies

Is he? Can't find that anywhere @Fan of Big Tone, but if he is fair play to him. Knows what to do in this league. No doubt he'll be back at the Hive within two years though.

One of Notts' better managers in our recent history imo.

It was a parody/fake account that posted the tweet

I know he's left Barnet, but couldn't find one saying MK Dons. Might happen though! lol

Some of those pathetic football accounts on Twitter and Facebook (the trash ones) had put up the old announcement of Martin Allen having joined MK Don's in an attempt to trick people.

I guess the fake/parody account couldn't resist joining in the fun.

Honestly, I don't get football accounts that try to mislead people. There's no point following them, as it's not remotely funny.

@Fan of Big Tone this one is for real...

Martin has gone to Chesterfield.

seems a strange appointment jumping from Barnet where he is worshipped and nearly kept them up to another relegated team. Sideways move for him.

Really should be higher up in the leagues imo.

Yes, just seen that, as you say it does seem strange, perhaps chessy are paying more.

the whole decision is bizarre.

he should do well with them but if they dont have the money to spend to get themselves back up, it wont be long until he departs for one of his former clubs. i noticed hes already started with the charm offensive as he did here.

There is no doubt in my mind that he will do well with Chesterfield.

I can see them returning because Mad Dog knows the lower leagues well and will have contacts to know how to save them some money, I feel this is the real reason why they have appointed him.

Don’t doubt it for one minute. The guy is a master stroke for them. Just found it strange when he said the package offered by Barnet was unbelievable and he still turned it down so unlikely Chezzie offered more wages wise, but that might be all public banter for all we know!

He may have meant it was unbelievable in a negative way, i.e. unbelievably bad.

My poor choice of words then! Amazing, fantastic etc..l he said he couldn’t believe how good the package offered was!

A positive note for Chesterfield fans will be all the crazy antics Martin Allen will get up to now, relegation might not seem so bad after all.

Average manager but at this level that is enough, you can't ask for better!

If Chesterfield give him a good budget he will fix their problems and that will see them push back towards League Two. He just needs to reign in his antics a little, though I don't know why any Notts fans would dislike him. He gave us hope at a time when we needed it!
