February 20, 20241 yr #2476 I enjoy reading debates where two sides can discuss their points but in turn respect each other. This is such a heated topic that it can lead to comments which may seem too personal. I am not taking sides, I respect both members and feel the majority of the conversation is a fair one. However, I don't like that it sometimes comes across as an attack of the other's characters. There's no required moderation other than my amendments to the topic. There are some fair points by both sides, but politics can lead to it becoming unhealthy. I want to encourage open discussions, where free speech is had and without the need to close the topic or issue any form of moderation such as requiring approval to post. If this can't be handled in the way that I wish, I will be forced to do one of those actions. As for BREXIT, I think there's always a balance between both sides of views. I voted to leave the EU, but I see no difference in the way that the UK has been since. I try to avoid discussing this, as it did become heated on Twitter back in the day and Reddit. I don't take part in that, but I read the posts shared here when I come across it.
February 20, 20241 yr #2477 @Robbie @Piethagoram you are never going to change each others minds. I can’t imagine either of you saying “actually I think you are right, I’ve been wrong all along”. You are both flogging a dead horse. You need to agree to disagree and move on to another topic, how about religion? Oh no perhaps not.

Sawing an arm off is a different subject how can you compare leaving eu to that ???????????? oh dear. Joining Real Madrid seems like a good idea for many players doesn't always work does it. Southgate didn't seem good appointment turned out OK. Nothing is certain unless you have seen e future. @Fan of Big Tone 25, we might not have been as great as is thought but times change we have moved on and without eu we can be stronger. Like I said I couldn't care about brexit. If you want to be remoaners fair enough doesn't change the result does it. We voted out. We're coming out. Move on. It's time to stop being a Remoaner & move on and look forward to the good things that a post Brexit UK can be with the right Government in place.
November 15, 2024Nov 15 #2481 @Robbie There are NO Brexit benefits Trawling back posts from 2018???? Brexit is HARMING the UK economy Bank of England governor says Brexit has undermined UK economy | Andrew Bailey | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Andrew Bailey callls for relations with EU to be rebuilt as Trump plans US tariffs £40bn of tax revenues go wanting, by being outside the EU's SM & CU. Basically Brexiteers have voted for paying higher taxes. Democracies have the right to change their mind. Just think of the EU's pool base of players that Notts could tap into , to strengthen the squad further ( rather than just the one extra player we are currently allowed). Never forget the Reedtz bros arrived with freedom of movement. I for one, am grateful that they came to settle in London and built there business here
November 15, 2024Nov 15 #2482 and as @Robbie quoting Lord Frost on another thread, here is the said Lord Frost admitting the damage Brexit is doing to the UK, back in 2021
November 15, 2024Nov 15 #2483 @Piethagoram said "Lord Frost on another thread, here is the said Lord Frost admitting the damage Brexit is doing to the UK, back in 2021" At NO time in that segment is Lord Frost admitting that Brexit is damaging the UK. Putting words in people's mouths against Mr P? That's very naughty of you once again.
November 15, 2024Nov 15 #2484 @Piethagoram said. "Trawling back posts from 2018????" That's your description. I'm learning about past conversations on this thread & very interesting they are too.. It's plain that Remoaners on here don't get there own way. I will always defend Brexit on here as long as anyone continues to try to degenerate it.

Have another go @Robbie He is acknowledging Northern Ireland moves closer to Irish reunification and implies the trade barriers NI have with UK now. And a reminder too of Lord Frost The one quote Brexit minister Lord Frost wants you to forget WWW.THENATIONAL.SCOT IN the latest instalment of the logic-defying Brexit chronicles, unelected Tory minister Lord Frost is threatening to rip up the deal he…
November 15, 2024Nov 15 #2486 @Robbie I repeat there are no Brexit benefits. I note you refuse to respond to the GDP hit that Brexit has caused the UK's economy What benefit to the UK does the UK get, by being outside the Single Market and Customs Union
November 15, 2024Nov 15 #2487 Why have you always got to be right @Piethagoram & everyone else is wrong? It's a trait that I have seen constantly on this whole thread, all they eat from 2018.If you believe you are right, just believe it. It doesn't alter the reality that we are no longer in the EU. If this terrible Labour regime takes the UK closer to the EU, a ReformUK or Tory government in 2029 will just reverse it. And a Trump Presidency is going to undermine two tier Keir all the way for the next four years. Ie Chagos Islands for starters. So my advice matey, Drink the Kool-aid. You're going to need it for the next 4 years or so.
November 15, 2024Nov 15 #2488 @Robbie I am consistently pointing out the costs of Brexit and being patriotic, means I want the best for this country. The US Defence Department would have signed off the Chagos deal... So the USA are comfortable with it. Yet you try to weaponise it, like Farage does, when in reality, it's no big deal. The US airbase remains on the Chagos!
November 15, 2024Nov 15 #2489 Isn't it now time@Piethagoram to just agree to disagree on Brexit & put this whole thread to an end. You've had 6 long years to make your case on here, & although I disagree with you vehemently on the right path for our Country, you have made your case well & I applaud your longevity on this thread. Why can't we just agree to disagree now & agree to end our posting on this thread & concentrate on non political items? I'm sure other members would agree. How about it?
