I think Brexit will go down as the biggest farce in British political history.  It was sheer stupidity to ask the general public to vote on an issue as complicated as this.  The campaign from both sid

Name a country in the World that would voluntarily give up it's freedom, sovereignty and self determination, to be nothing more than a State of a foreign entity then forces it's people to adhere to 1000s of foreign laws, rules and regulations without their consent?

The UK was that Country when two parties signed the Maastricht and later the Lisbon treaty without the consent of the British people.

Thankfully we put that right in 2016.

Now the establishment are trying to do the same again.

They won't succeed.

@Robbie      "to be nothing more than a State of a foreign entity then forces it's people to adhere to 1000s of foreign laws, rules and regulations without their consent?"

Are you talking about the CPTPP? Where's my consent? UK will become a rule taker in the CPTPP... i.e. losing our sovereignty

"The UK was that Country when two parties signed the Maastricht and later the Lisbon treaty without the consent of the British people."

Yes, we elect UK governments to deal with this. We are NOT Switzerland who do hold referendums regularly on important issues. So the consent to Maastricht and Lisbon were given, on behalf of the British people.

The reality of Brexit is below the water line as shown above. I am standing up for the rights of the British man in the street! Everything is a trade off and we are very much worse off with every aspect of Brexit.

The poorest in British society suffer as food price rocket on the UK's own self imposed red tape on imported food.

So even more people will have to go to food banks.... but that's the consequence of Brexit imposed "sanctions" that the UK has put upon itself

There you go @Piethagoram reverting to the usual FBPE smear tactics. I thought you were better than that. Obviously not.

Wow, calm down @Piethagoram but that's the FBPE all over. Can't debate, can't accept or respect an alternative opinion, can't say anything positive about the UK, very sad.

There you go @Piethagoramsmearing a section of our society just because they support Brexit.

Dissapointing but predictable.

@Robbie "smearing"... that's a new one. How about debating the facts being presented

What is wrong regarding ECHR tweet...please explain if you support the ECHR?

@Piethagoram

You quoted someone who mentioned the name gammon Why did you do that?

Lots of Notts supporters won't be impressed with being called that. You should withdraw the post.

Sorry @Robbie my question was on the ECHR... did not expect a response on the "look over there" variety. Please answer my question

Lots of "Notts supporters" are eternally grateful that the Danish owners came to England under EU's freedom of movement.

@PiethagoramTry again. Newcastle was taken over by foreign owners post Brexit, So were Wrexham.

The lunacy of Brexit

You can be born in this country and still be deported?

@Piethagoram why don't you tell us the whole story?

@Robbie The Danish bros settled here and made their wealth in this country, because of EU's freedom of movement. Wrexham and Newcastle's are "imported"

So you would have been quite happy that Notts's only other bidder at the time, a consortium which had a convicted fraudster...

But you again deflecting the question posed earlier, do you support the ECHR?

@Piethagoram putting words in my mouth again.

On this subject I'm not going to debate you any more. Your mind is closed to any alternative opinion but your own.

Morning.

As always with political decisions, there will be lots of debate and differences of opinion.

It has become more of a modern trend to completely disregard the opposite view to your own, 'othering' the people who subscribe to them as it means that you don't have to concede ground mentally and your side of the argument will appear (at least to one's self) that you are in the correct position. Rarely are these things black and white, despite our club allegiances.

Common social media platforms - Twitter the most prominent - promote echo bubbles where people of the same opinion constantly interact with one-another, reinforcing the position of the person and giving a false sense that everybody thinks the same, bar a mad few lunatics.

This platform creates a Notts County bubble - mostly - so will inevitably promote Notts bias. It will however, mean you'll encounter different views that aren't Notts related, which is healthy and more consistent with real life.

A common reasoning exercise is to consider what a person who believes the opposite might be thinking, and where there may be valid truth and reasoning in that thinking. If you draw a blank on that exercise, I'd prompt that you disengage from one-another as the exchange will not achieve anything.

If you are actively debating and both are open to changing your views given certain evidence or reasoning, then please do continue in a respectful manner.
