I don't think this is a case of he's lost the dressing room but young players getting too big for their boots. He seemed injured throughout the second half, so he's obviously faked an injury for time wasting purposes for it then to backfire on him. What would you do? I can only imagine if someone like Brian Clough was still around and see how he would've dealt with the situation. Personally, I would fine him a weeks wages and drop him to the reserves, if he refused to play in those games then sack him under a breach of contract.

It was 4-3 and Brian Clough would have gone on and dragged him off, and then promptly drummed him out the club. That's if he'd dare do it anyway.

If a player even considers pulling a trick like that then the manager hasn't got enough authority. In theory Sarri has the power to tell him he'll never play for the club again ... that's easy to do when you're a long-serving manager with backing from the board, but we all know the Chelsea manager will be gone this time next month anyway.

Its the manager that should be in charge, i'd take the player off for multiple matches to prove a point and make him learn hes not the boss and cant refuse.

I wonder what Kepa's side is.

That said a player refusing to be subbed or to listen to the manager shows how the game is crossing a dangerous line.

Chelsea fans will side with Kepa because they want Sarri out of the club.

With their embargo on signing players, it's unlike they will part ways with a keeper they signed for silly money in the first place.

Why would you sub your keeper before a shootout? It all sounds petty to me.

Usually I think it's the player who wins because they cost the club the most amount of money, with the manager on his way out I don't see it going any other way. It's not right but a stark reminder that the money these days controls the game.

Get rid of both.

The manager needs to reign in his players failure to do so falls on his own shoulders too. Kepa should have more respect for Chelsea and for football in general.

I think the whole situation stinks, Chelsea is acting like a rich kid being made to work for once in their lives - it's just very toxic. You have a manager who's losing the dressing room.

Players who are there for their own win fall.

A chairman who wants out now that his money is safe in mother Russia.

It's laughable and quite sad, as it's a sign of worse to come, but Kepa needs to grow up. He's disrespecting the fans and ultimately his decision not to come off could have cost Chelsea at the end of the day. Nobody knows, but he should respect the manager's decision.

Hes not the boss so he needs to grow up and follow orders.

Maybe they had a penalties specialist on the bench? I remember a few years when Holland reached the final of the Euros, they brought on a new keeper at the end of extra time who then helped them win the penalty shoot-out.

It was good to see Kepa dropped, Chelsea looked better without him.

Players risk damaging their careers, I am surprised Chelsea haven't forced him to apologise via a press conference. Upon a time this would have been the standard and expected thing to do.

Without the consiquences for doing that, its going to be hard for them to get him to learn he was wrong. Its obvious to us but clearly it wasn't to him.
