Players to receive letters about futures

So it seems every club announcement about retained or released as almost happened except ours but the everning post say the players will receive a letter shortly telling them there futures and then an announcement will be made to us fans hopefully this week.

I think the idea of players recieving "letters" makes Notts look quite unprofessional.

That said, I do know certain players had been told before and some spoke about this at the last home game of the season. I just think it should be carried out in person, that seems the right thing to do despite the squad being awful.

Plus, it would save the club a few pennies. ????

I thought Ardley met with the players last week to tell them? Surely the letter is just the club's formal notification to the player as to their status for next season?

To be honest I would be very surprised of any were kept on.

A letter for something like this does seem a weird way to do it. Maybe it’s just procedure and a slow news week at the Post. Or there’s more to the letters, possible it could relate to the take-over not being complete. Maybe no players can technically be offered new deals because no budget/funds have been set/made available for next season…

It's definitely a slow press release.

Written to sound negative more than it is, the players are contacted formally to my knowledge.

You just have to get on with it, there is nothing fans can do about this and even with the worries of bankruptcy the only thing we can do is talk and support the club.

Provided the letters are tasteful and on time, I do not see the issue with it. It seems to be The Post making the title almost click baiting fans into thinking the players have been mistreated.
