So Tom Crawford has returned from a loan spell with A.F.C Flyde of the National league. He also played in the final of the national League playoff at Wembley as Salford beat A.F.C Flyde 3-0 to earn promotion to league football. 

 

So could that loan spell help Tom Crawford next season if he remains at meadow lane as we face playing National league football next season.

i hope notts plays him, he looked good the few times i seen him but he was in and around others who did not work hard enough. him and o'brien for me.

If they don't play him in the National League, it would show such a waste with what seemed like a promising amount of potential.

Neal Ardley must give players like Crawford a go next season.

He should remain, he like others will be used to the Non League and its a very good chance to see the team grow around him.

I wouldn't write him off that's for sure.

He has to be given a chance. He played for a team that got to the playoff final, he knows what it takes to succeed in the Conference. 

The boy is National League standard anyway and did well in that league so no reason to think he can’t do a good job for us and won’t break the bank.

Given a chance I think he will be a future club captain and become a player Notts has missed for many years since Neal Bishop left.

I think if he didn't play it would show how wasteful and how Notts can't develop players that are not developed already. He seems a good player, I have had his picture as my display picture because the early glimpses I felt he would really thrive.

Then he was cut out the squad and loaned out.

I didn't see him enough but he seems good enough at this level, worth a try.

Hope he got on well, he could be useful for us now.

I think he should be around the first team, he's a good player and will only improve with more game time.

You can see he's a threat on goal, he just needs to improve his defending and bulk up a bit. Very good player tho in my eyes.

As already mentioned, he has to be kept in and around the first XI as the national league is his standard at the moment. As he becomes older and bulks up, he could become a very useful player for Notts. I don't like seeing young players being discarded by Notts as finding and using young players used to be one of the things we were half decent at 20-30 years ago.

I would question Neal Ardley if he didn't give Tom Crawford more time, he could be a far more influential player for the club.

He knows what is needed in the league.

Notts should look at developing and looking after young players, rather than allowing them to end up a waste. Besides the amount of money which can be wasted from buying in, give the lad a chance.

Not sure, I have not seen much and I think it depends on how he does with Notts. I think he will get a chance, if he plays regularly I am unsure.

Considering how he performed whilst out on loan, Notts must be looking at him as a player to push to start regularly. Michael Doyle isn't getting any younger and they need to find someone who can do what he offers.

The loan would have been the best situation for him, he needs to be playing and I am sure Neal Ardley will be contemplating how Tom Crawford may feature in the squad.

I thought he looked good early on, I was surprised he didn't get more time to feature.

I am sure he will next season.

I am sceptical of the club right now, I think he will be a wasted prospect and go on to do well elsewhere.

I don't see it if I am perfectly honest, Notts tends to go for experience in the middle of the park and although he has this level. I don't think he would work well with what we have.

He's got to be in and around the first team, he looks like a player that will improve and become the type of quality that Notts has missed.

Mixed of views thrown into this discussion, interesting to see that the majority favour Tom Crawford to play or to be given a chance.

I think he will, he's caught the attention of the club now and if not, he will move onto better things.

Hopefully Neal Ardkey sees sense and finds someone like Jim O'Brien to go alongside him.

The loan spell should help, confidence and regularly playing are two important parts of football. That and enjoying it, its down to whoever the manager is to get the best out of him.

Neal Ardley should be looking at people like Tom Crawford and thinking how to bring his ability into the tactics.
