The return of Jim O'Brien would have been a boost to the squad, but I feel the decision is rash.

Now he's picked up another injury and that he's expected to be out for awhile, I think we could have given someone else the chance to start. Saving Jim for the league, I am sure Neal Ardley never thought it would result in an injury but is it not best to play safe?

Perhaps a mistake in hindsight, however, I am sure Jim O'Brien would have wanted to play. It's frustrating, and unforunate more than anything.

The injury itself is just nasty.

It's been described as 'a cut', it isn't. There might be muscle damage, it's deep. Just look at this image shared by @Dan.

not a mistake or rushed, it has nothing to do with his arm. it's just a very bad accident again, hes not having much luck at the moment. i really feel for him.

the gash is nasty though, i hope no real damage is done.  

It's nothing more than an awful accident, the stud trailing after the challenge really has caused some damage.

He will be fine though.

If his injury was a recurrence of the arm injury you could say it was ruched .... it’s just a terrible accident.

It could have happened to anyone on any day. Sod's law that it happened to Jim on his return. We really could do with a bit of luck.

I do think his returned seemed rushed, but the injury itself is just an accident.

It's nothing more than just a very misfortune accident, and I don't understand why some fans want the player booking for it.

Did Neal Ardley have to play?

I would have given him chance to compete in a behind closed doors match, or a training session. The injury is no doubt an accident, but it does impact the team. Notts are now without Jim O'Brien when he could have brought his influence on the pitch.

Very unfortunate accident, I hope Jimmy isn't out for the rest of the season.

Like everyone else, it's an accident.

I personally wouldn't have started Jim O'Brien, this doesn't make it a mistake. I just feel the game had no importance and that we could have afforded him more time to recover. He could have come on as a sub, however Neal Ardley played him and he wouldn't have known this injury would happen.

It's a massive blow to the team.

It's just an accident, it couldn't have been helped. We just need him back and stronger than ever, hope news comes out soon about how long he should be out for.

Notts should be used to disasters like this, but it's nothing more than an accident. Timing could have been ideal otherwise.

I am gutted to see Jim get injured, two horrific accidents but knowing him he will come back stronger.

Just a massive loss to the starting lineup, we had something to look forward to with him playing.
