Former forward Mick Vinter has sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 65.

He joined notts in 1971 and the magpies were his first professional team. Mick left Notts in 1979 but continued to live in nottingham as a coach when he retired as a player.

Mick always came across as a humble person, I am aware he had his problems but whenever I had the chance to speak to him - his eyes would light up when the conversation turned to Notts.

He would speak highly about those he played alongside and, his memories of Jimmy Sirrel would make people laugh if you heard them.

It's very saddening, I saw the news filter out last night but needed to see something official.

Rest in Peace Mick Vinter.

Good servant for many clubs, he played for a few midlands clubs and did well for them.

Rest in Peace Mick Vinter.

Such a good player on his day, Mick Vinter will always be a true legend of the lane.

Rest in Peace Mick Vinter.

I have just read the memorial entry on the main site of PON, very touching to read the comments.

Rest in Peace Mick Vinter.

It's still something I have to pinch myself to believe, it's just unreal. Rest in Peace Mick.
