On the news a second ago, was a segment where Doddie Wier, Rob Burrow and Stephen Darby (who played on loan at Notts in 2010/2011) spoke about their battle with MND (Motor neurone disease).

Motor neurone diesase is a rare condition that attacks the brain and it nerves. It slowly kills the person from the inside, taking away their speech and bodily functions. It's a saddening illness, which I have witnessed during my time working in a specialist care home for people with brain injuries.

It's good to see the three sufferers teaming up to promote awareness.

He looked a decent player when we had him on loan. Such a terrible thing.

Its good to know he's being productive and thinking about his family, its an horrible illness for sure.  

This is awful reading, his career ended pretty quick too when he would have been in his prime.  

i liked watching him, thought he was a decent young player and he did well for bradford if my memory serves me correct. its sad to read things like this, at least the three of them are promoting awareness and reacting well.

One of the worst conditions a human can suffer from, as it slowly destroys you.  

Good to see him spreading the word about the desease

It's an awful shame, the condition is one of the worst things someone can suffer from.

Made worse that there's little to no treatment and no chance of a cure.

Another illness that can only be managed but no treatment as such, good that they are speaking out about it.

Shame but its by promoting awareness and raising funds that one day a cure might be found for sufferers. It must be awful.

It’s sad, hope he manages to see his kids grown and fights it for awhile.
