patterson recalled

Reading the piece it sounds like Ian wants him back if he can, however Sam is a solid keeper and is more than capable I’d have him up there as one of the best in the league so we were lucky to have both him and Paterson together. Now the team is playing with a lot more confidence it will help Sam as well.

Notts has recalled Tiernan Brooks too, give him a chance if Sam Slocombe gets injured or needs a rest.

Before we played Eastleigh, I wasn't all that bothered because I felt Sam Slocombe would come in and do well.

Whilst I don't think any different with regard to Slocombe, I am a bit baffled by the decision by Sunderland, unless they've got a goalkeeper dilemma - or their plans have changed. It for me, feels like a bow on the level of losing Ryan Yates.

The reason I say this, is because Patterson was growing in confidence, and he seemed settled.

I couldn't see him being dropped unless we had a bit of poor form, as he just looked confident. I wonder if the decision affected his performance against Rochdale, i.e. he knew then he would be returning and his focus had been lost a little. As he did, he started very poorly, giving the ball multiple times straight to Rochdale players. I thought this was partly due to Adam Chicksen playing quite poorly, but this makes me wonder.

Agreed, Anthony Patterson did well for us but we have Tiernan Brooks waiting in the wing.
