New to here
27 pointsHello, I decided to join and introduce myself. I have been following Notts for approximately four years. Although I wasn't born into supporting the club, I chose Notts after relocating following my studies. The friendliness of the club is what I appreciate, and I have been regularly attending most home games since Notts joined the National League.27 points

A Plea for Support from an Elderly Notts Fan
I felt disappointed yesterday with all the moans and groans. I have watched Notts for many years and have seen all the bad times: the foundation of Lifeline, which gave the club much-needed support, many relegations, and all the hassle from the last two ownerships. I don’t know why some people feel the need to be vocally disconcerting and get on the players’ backs over a pre-season friendly. It would be nice to have just one season where these fans kept quiet. There is no need for it. Why direct disrespectful comments to some of the younger squad members? They may have made mistakes, but they will learn. Will these fans be there the next time something happens where a bit of support is required?25 points

Dan Crowley signs
25 pointsTechnically astute, good link up play and very much suited to a possession based team like us. Another example of us willing to take a chance on an undervalued player (not in terms of price) but in the sense, that we're a club that can revitalise a player's career. It's worked for John Bostock and it's working for Jodi Jones.25 points

Happy Birthday Neil Warnock
23 pointsHappy Birthday, Neil Warnock! You've successfully graduated from being the grumpy uncle, to the disgruntled grandfather figure that has the tendency of being really naughty. Have a wonderful day! PS. I hope he managed to play some golf, and found some time to yell comments to a Sunday League referee.23 points

23 points- New to here
23 pointsCheers for the kind welcome. I’m not one for football forums usually, and I tend to avoid Facebook groups. But after a good chat with some fans at the Salford match, I thought I’d get more involved with the Notts community. This site seems just right for a good natter about the club. I’m not your usual fan, mind you. I moved from a place with two clubs, one much bigger than the other. But it’s always been the community side of the game that I’ve liked best.23 points- Welcome NorthPie
23 pointsWelcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @NorthPie. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.23 points- The search for new CEO begins
23 pointsNotts are actively seeking to recruit a new CEO to replace Jason Turner who sadly passed away recently. Whoever it is have big boots to fill. Without Alex Bass tonight, we wouldn’t be celebrating the win. They might have come back or even won the game. It’s not that we were bad defensively, but we did rely on luck at times, and Bass was outstanding.22 points- Who's Your Notts Man of the Match v Carlisle?
This was a great performance by Notts tonight. All the players deserve to be on the shortlist & it was hard to pick one, so tonight I have chosen a shortlist of 8 out of the 14 players that played tonight. From the goalkeeper, to the defensive unit, to the midfield & attacking unit they were all superb in my opinion. I have decided to award Alex Bass the man of the match award for his second half performance, especially in that last 30 minutes, with two world class saves to prevent Carlisle from coming back into the game. Special mentions for Dan Crowley, Scott Robertson, Alassana Jatta, & Matty Platt for being the pick of the rest. But there wasn't much in it for all the 11 who started tonight.22 points- Match Discussion: Game 21 - The Saddlers (H)
The key area - as it has been almost every game this season - it how the defence bounces back. Anyone who has watched us for the last 18 months will know these players simply aren't good enough to play this style week in week out. Yes, we conceded fewest goals last season but we had the most possession by a massive distance, so we conceded those goals based on the opponents having around 25 - 30% possession in each game. This season is a little higher, maybe 35 - 40% possession and our goals against record is close to the worst in the division. We've all seen that but it's almost been kept in house. Last week was so appalling - and in the FA Cup - so has been picked up by BBC, swept across social media, etc, so these players need to show character and stand tall. You can bet Walsall players will be in their ears reminding them. Our middle and attach - as a whole, not necessarily individuals - are L1 standard in my opinion. Sadly, our defence is little better than a poor NL standard. Not because they are being forced into errors, but because they make them without being under pressure. We concede a huge amount of goals when we should be in control but then a misplaced pass, a loss on concentration, whatever, gifts a goal.22 points- Welcome Ryan Raynor
22 pointsWelcome to our friendly football community @Ryan Raynor I hope you enjoy being a member.22 points- Has Notts forgotten about Junior Morias?
22 pointsWhere does Junior Morias fit within this squad? I don’t think he’s quite the “panic buy”, but it seems like a strange signing considering his injury and the level of minutes he ended up playing. It’s great that we are building depth, but in each of his positions we have multiple players and his place on the pecking order seems to lower with each addition. So, where does he fit in Luke Williams’ side?22 points- Maddison pays tribute to Jodi Jones
22 points22 points- Notts County’s Permanent Signings: Who’s Your Favourite?
For me, Jodi Jones is the standout permanent signing for Notts County. He’s such an interesting and exciting player to watch on the pitch. His speed and agility make him a real threat to any defence. But I must say, I’m also delighted with the other three permanent signings. Will Randall, David McGoldrick and Dan Chorley all bring something unique to the team and I’m looking forward to seeing how they all perform this season.22 points- Who's Your Notts Man of the Match v Carlisle?
Here is your shortlist for the Notts man of the match. Matty Platt, Scott Robertson, Alassana Jatta, Dan Crowley, Sam Austin, Alex Bass, Matt Palmer or Jacob Bedeau.21 points- Who's Your Notts Man of the Match v Carlisle?
Yeah, as a comfortable as we were at times and even though Crowley got applauded off by the Carlisle fans, Bass was crucial for us especially in the later stages of the match.21 points- Who's Your Notts Man of the Match v Carlisle?
21 points- RIP Sven
21 pointsIt's very sad news, it made me wonder if he knew when he recently mentioned how he wanted people to remember him. I am a bit shocked by it still, and very saddened. The times I spoke with Sven at Hart's Restaurant, they will be memories I cherish. I witnessed his kindness, not only asking to speak with me after he first encountered me. Yet more for his selfless acts, the kind of charity that I witnessed where he would support charities without fuss or wanting focus on him. He was a very nice person, who treated people with nothing but respect. Rest in Peace, Sven.21 points- Reedtz Brothers Era "Feels like a good dream"
21 points- The future of my YouTube channel
21 pointsLife is always more difficult than it appears via text and screen, I know this has been troubling you for some time. I am also aware that you have an incredible passion for your content and talking about Notts, this is something you do well and put across your knowledge productively. You can develop burnouts from the demand, I did with Meet the Fans and much of the video content I used to do, but I would be lying if I didn't say I missed it. You've done right by putting yourself first at times, but as I have mentioned, it's only you who can decide about your channel's fate. Taking a hiatus for a season wouldn't be a bad thing, the majority of fans would still be there when you return and a break could do you wonders. You might feel the urge to continue vlogging with the promise of this upcoming season and there will always be disappointment one way or another. If Notts ends up having a good season, and you vlog - you will have documented it through the eyes of a fan. If you didn't, it may add to your regrets. Neither really matters because it's how you feel which comes first. I'm speaking from experience when I say taking time away from something you care immensely about can be overwhelming, I have had low points and I regret battling through them without taking time to myself. Likewise, there have been times when I did take time and coming back felt much harder than going. I have mentioned how @GrannyPie had kept encouraging me to return to PON's social media. It felt difficult, as if I had to give answers, I really didn't. The issue is, what prompted my return wasn't right for me in the end. I needed to take further time off, including the site, just to re-find myself. This isn't about me, however, I can draw comparisons and the point I am trying to make is you need to trust your own judgement. You were pretty timid and reserved when I first met you, but I have seen you grow in confidence and flourish as a person. I know you have had many challenging moments, that's just what life throws at us. You will always be the same person, with or without your YouTube channel. I meant what I said to you yesterday, I am always a message away, and you have never been a burden on me. I think you may want to take some time to think things over, maybe consider delaying your return to vlogging but only if it's unnecessary stress to you. Just remember the positives you get and outweigh things with how you feel. Your friends will still be there for you, just as I will be.21 points- Welcome Morton Johansen
21 pointsWelcome to PoN @Morten Johansen please make yourself at home it’s good to have you here.21 points- Matty Palmer the beating heart of Notts County
21 points- Welcome George L
21 pointsA very big welcome to @George L who also happens to be my grandson, so if he misbehaves let me know. ???? Welcome George I hope you find time to join in with the discussions in your busy schedule of lying in bed during the summer holidays.21 points- Match Discussion: Game 6 - The 'Owd Reds (H)
They're a good team; they have a decent midfield with two very good creative outlets that work well for them in Shaun Whalley and Sean McConville. Whilst they might not have the true quality that others may process (like us), they have a real grit and strong understanding of what makes them work. I would highly recommend fans give this a read, at least the bottom part mentioning who we have next - @TheSkipper has written about them superbly. I think it's all about how the game starts, if we are confident and play as we did against Tranmere Rovers, I think Accrington Stanley will struggle. Yet either way the game may go, I believe they'll be the best opposition that we have faced at Meadow Lane. Defensively, we need to be calm and composed, with the players thinking about how each ball they play needs to be the perfect decision. Accington are a team that could pounce on our mistakes. Whilst some would say they are an underdog of this league, with the team spirit of fighters. Notts will know exactly what is needed, we need to match them with our intensity and control the game just by making neat passes. We'll get space, as will they. Notts just needs to make sure Aidan Stone is well protected and that we take any chances which fall our way. It should be a very entertaining game.21 points- welcome sir magpie

It’s the same every year when Notts doesn’t perform well in pre-season friendlies. It wouldn’t surprise me if Notts played non-league teams in the past to avoid this kind of overreaction. I don’t know what some people expect from a team that is two divisions higher and has previously spent many years in the Premier League. Some people are just spoilt, while others are simply absent-minded.21 points- Nice gesture by Stoke FC
21 pointsDid anyone warn Stoke City about our badge and the colour red? Put your war helmets on everyone, this could become nuclear! In all seriousness, it's a great gesture. I thought about covering it as a story but without quotes it holds less substance for repeating and I forgot to share it here/on social media. I have been doing site related chores.21 points- Reedtz Brothers Era "Feels like a good dream"
Yes, I still can’t believe we aren’t dealing with clueless owners who think we are there to be taken for granted. It’s weird to have two owners who very rarely say anything; not a complaint. It’s refreshing because it stops the doom and gloom merchants from piping up.21 points- Happy Birthday Neil Warnock
20 pointsHappy Birthday, Neil Warnock! Notts County will forever be better off for the success he brought to us.20 points- Who's Your Notts Man of the Match v Carlisle?
I would have said Jatta if he had managed to stay on, but since he went off to a standing ovation with his name being chanted, it was great to see. However, Alex Bass deserves it.20 points- Poll: Who is your Notts Man of the match v Gillingham?
Jacob Bedaeu, he played some quality football and was defensively spot on for me. Bedaeu, can play a quick pass which a lot of our players seem afraid to do, but this from him gave David McGoldrick a good chance and he put Conor Grant clear through until a Gillingham player clattered Grant. I felt a bit miffed by Matty Platt's Man of the Match at the game, I thought he was quite solid but wasn't as involved. I wouldn't say poor, as he was good but just not Man of the Match for me.20 points- A Statement From The Notts County Board of Directors.
It sounds very much like a PR statement to try to defuse any potential disappointment. "always making responsible decisions with the long-term financial sustainability of the club in mind." I didn't expect us to throw money at the transfer window, reading between the lines it sounds like the club has actively tried to bring in players but have fallen into the market of signing loan players towards the end of the transfer window. There's nothing wrong with that. I am sure that the recruitment process looked at the options, and we might not have got all the players we aimed for, but that's football. "We’re confident that we’ve achieved those objectives this summer and have every belief that, while League Two is shaping up to be an extremely strong division once again, the squad we’ve assembled is capable of competing for promotion." I feel confident, there's always January to review what we have budget wise and what players could possibly make movements coming in. The positives are that we have rejected bids, those could have seen reinvestments in the players, but I don't think we would easily find that type of quality. Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones are vital to the team's dynamics. It's a welcomed statement but quite basic; I am sure I would have expected one. As I say, I think it's to keep morale up and avoid negative landmines from going off.20 points- Greetings everyone!
20 pointsHello, I’ve joined Pride of Nottingham to concentrate on content and I’m keen to get to know the community better. I’ve been a Notts supporter my whole life, born in 1993. My real name’s Gavin, but you can call me Gav or True Magpie, whichever you prefer. I went to my first game in 1996, when I was just three. As for PON, I’ve been a long-time reader and active on social media. I was asked yesterday to consider this role, as it’s similar to my job, and I happily agreed. Gav, True Magpie.20 points- Match Discussion: Game 6 - The 'Owd Reds (H)
This could be the most difficult game so far (discounting Sutton and Lincoln) I’m hoping our fighting spirit will see us through plus the fact that we are at home with the fans playing 12th man. With Aaron Nemane and Jodie pumping crosses in the box I’m always confident of scoring but not so confident of not conceding. 3-2 would do me.20 points- The bond between Notts players, club, and fans
There’s a special feeling around the club right now. The bond between the players, club, and fans is stronger than ever. It’s important for us to do well on the field, but it’s also important for us to enjoy the football. We can talk about key match moments and reflect on performances, but at the end of the day, we have a squad we’ve wanted for years. The club feels like we’re on the up. Games are exciting to attend because we’re making the stands echo with our support. It’s something the players appreciate. Just how much are you enjoying Notts right now? What are your thoughts on our fans’ support at games this season? Let us know in the comments below!20 points- Donny match commentary on Radio Nottm
20 pointsI don’t travel to away matches but enjoy listening to Radio Nottingham. After Charlie Slater I’d not been too impressed with his replacement until todays game, I thought Dave Bracegirdle was excellent although I missed Mark Stallard who was absent, Ian Richardson stood in. The young commentator who did the first games showed his inexperience but he’ll learn, whereas Dave Bracegirdle really was very assured and competent his interview technique for the post match interview with Luke Williams was really good he asked all the right questions whilst being respectful. What did other stay at home fans think?20 points- New Chief Executive appointed
20 points- Pre-release Discussion: Notts County's 2023/24 League Two Home and Away Kit
As of yet, all we know is that the club has extended the deal with Puma for 5 more years after this season ends. This means we can speculate as to what the shirts might look like. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of either the home or away shirt last season, so I’m hoping for more of a traditional home kit. Juventus and Newcastle have both shown that a black and white kit can be creative, look different and escape those boring claims that there’s not much that can be done with the colours. If this were true, it would be the same for every club, with every colour. So what is it that you like about Notts shirts, both home and away? What previous season would you ideally like this season’s home and away kit to look like? Personally, I like broader black and white stripes - not just a few like the 2020 home shirt, but multiple ones like we had last season. More traditional, with no collar and parts of yellow or gold trimming. It would be nice to finally have a yellow away kit - not too bright, but with hints of Nottingham green along parts just to add subtle detail.20 points- Neal Ardley leaves Solihull Moors
20 pointsIt reads as if he’s left to join another club. He’s done well with them, but the club does seem to have a glass ceiling. They need a bit more investment to go further. I do wonder where he will end up next.20 points- Notts County’s Permanent Signings: Who’s Your Favourite?
I completely agree with you, @CliftonMagpie. Jodi Jones is pure class. He’s such a talented player and brings so much to the team. His technical abilities and vision on the pitch are second to none. He’s the kind of player that can change the game in an instant with a moment of brilliance.20 points- Jim is staying
20 points20 points- Fan who invaded pitch to win bet is banned
This person is not a fan; he cost the club a fine of around £10,000. How can someone who is 28 years old and claims to be a fan of a football club resort to such stupidity for a bet? Did his partner nag him about the amount of money he was spending on tickets and alcohol, so he took a bet to invade the pitch? I cannot make sense of it. I think these types of people are idiots and not true fans of football. Why would anyone want to be banned from watching their club for something so pointless? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-6586025420 points- Sam Slocombe agrees new 2 year deal
