Kevin Nolan: 'Scott Loach loan will let us make a decision on his Notts County future'
I don't expect him to return, we would have seen Nolan test him out between the sticks - especially when Collin was poor prior to his arrival and for spells during it. Most fans will probably assume the same, so I think it's more about how Collin does than Loach. Regardless, I still think we need a new No.1 next season but I would prefer to Have Scott Loach as our backup than Adam Collin. Nothing personal, I just don't think he has much more about him to improve on and this makes me feel we need a keeper who can help 'lift' us. I wonder how many would like Roy Carroll back?

Match Discussion: Game 39 - The Chairboys (A)
I do feel this will be one of those games whereby by both teams forms really dampen the pace of the game. Provided we don't overload the defence to compensate any weakness we may have there, we should be fine going forward. We just need to mix things up, don't attack solely down a single route - use the flanks and the centre of the park. We have a lot more pace and dynamics about us than we did the last time we met at Meadow Lane, so we should be better off for that. I do think the game will probably end up hoofball central but Notts must adapt to this. The game will probably quite close, so I think 1-1 sounds about right. If we defend well and Collin does what he's paid to do - we may be able to grab the win. It's funny how our away form has gone downhill but at home it's greatly improved.

Marc Bola urges Premier League prospects to consider Football League loan moves
It would help in our department re: football in the air if Notts actually tried to keep it on the ground. We aren't one of those sides can master the long ball or ping pong style game, in fact we struggle and many opposition teams used this against us at Meadow Lane this season. Academy football will always be a 'learning system' rather than competitive or physical. Though I know full well that some players would thrown up joining a side beneath the Championship basically because they're already earning a good salary and therefore pampered. More should consider trying their hands at League One or Two, though that said a club has more decision with regards to where their youngsters are shipped out on loan. Perhaps these clubs should consider more wisely where youths learn the game? It's hard to argue with then.

Alan Hardy expecting to have funds available for promotion tilt next season
Budget means little but it's pleasing to see. We need to recruit the right players and get a mix of young/experienced players, hopefully we can get the basics right which would allow for the quality to come in with the budget. And there's nothing wrong with 'free transfers' when their value is weighed up properly, however it would be nice to spend a little if we can recruiting players from the teams around us for a reasonable fee. If a team wants to retain their key players, they're usually the type any club would want to have a round. We need the Gary Liddle/Alan Judge type characters.

Match Discussion: Game 39 - The Chairboys (A)
Unsure what to make of this game, obviously we need the points and I think we can go there quite confident. The question will be which Notts County will appear for Kevin Nolan and will they be able to bypass the match officials? I think this will be one by a single goal, yet at this stage I think the winner could be either side. I'd like to Jon Stead back in the team starting (if he's fit).

Michael O'Connor: 'Kevin Nolan has brought confidence back to Notts County'
I'm a little nervous to be honest about all the praise, don't get me wrong but one of two things is always likely to happen. The form will continue and we end up losing the best manager we have had potentially for a number of years or it will simply demise. Realistically how long can either scenario's last? As I say I'm not saying this to be negative but it is a concern, whatever happens will ultimately be the one we have to face but I would hope during this period we can have some success on the pitch and/or return to a stable club (which hasn't been the case for a number of decades).

Notts County match-winner Matt Tootle eager to end "strange season" on high note
All the players have taken a massive step forward, I can't think of anyone who hasn't - that's the difference chemistry can make. It's pleasing to see the players working hard, even after going down to 10 men and I would encourage anyone involved to continue the 'positive spirit'. Kevin Nolan is doing wonders for us. Long may it continue!

Match Discussion: Game 38 - The Bees (H)
It feels like we are a different club, not just from the board but to how we all approach games. I am hopeful that we can get a few more wins, just to push us up the table a bit but I firmly believe Kevin Nolan will be able to attract the right players we need for next season. Let's just hope the wheelbarrow doesn't break in the meantime because this is great to see. The comments post match tell me much more.

Match Discussion: Game 38 - The Bees (H)
I was pleased to see we had won. Some will know it was my eldest daughters birthday, so I spent the day with my family and after going ice skating I noticed several happy Notts fans. This prompted me to check the score, however I instantly knew we had won because it's not every day you see so many smiling after a game at Meadow Lane. We must be okay now, surely?

Haydn Hollis: 'Kevin Nolan has given Notts County players a lot of confidence'
I wonder how many would admit that he is playing better, it would be nice to see how different things could be if our form was more consistent. I like him but when he plays below the bar, he goes missing and it's hard to defend him against those that say he should be released. For me at this level he's good for backup and can play a role in the first team. Yet it's all down to how he applies himself.

Focus on doing a good job at the back, we'll be okay. We conceded two poor goals against Doncaster, whereby defensive decisions wasn't the best and although we can argue the match officials didn't help - having seen the highlight those two goals would have annoyed me because it was poor. Yes, the first may have a foul on us but you can't expect to win games defending like that. Barnet should be a little more easier to control, they have a few good players I'd welcome here (not many). So for me the game will all be about creating chances and putting them a way. I'd give Jorge Grant the role to unpick Barnet, allow him to drive us forward and boss the midfield play. I think in the future he will make an ideal captain, so I am hopeful we can keep him but I don't think we should be scared if we play well. 2-0 Notts.

Match highlights: Doncaster Rovers 3-1 Notts County, Tuesday 14 March 2017
It's not Hewitt, it's his own defender DS. Elliot Hewitt leans forward whilst the defender behind him has his hands around his stomach/middle area, the keeper holds the defender. It's a crafty trick but I can see why poor officials could be fooled, this doesn't make it right but more blame should be placed on Doncaster's keeper and defender.

Match Discussion: Game 37 - Donny (A)
I'm not disheartened by the result, I don't think 3-1 reflects the work rate or performance of Notts. I didn't listen to the game, I was unfortunately busy but I did keep checking the score every so often. I was pleased when I saw Notts lead 1-0, but later I noticed it was 1-2 to them and then 1-3. I read a lot of outraged comments about our disallowed goal, not even seen the highlights yet but Alan Hardy has been quick to give his two pennies worth on the decision. From all of what I have read it sounds like the officials ruined the game but no point crying over spilled milk. Lets bounce back and focus on Sunday!

Kevin Nolan looking to get Notts County to 50-point mark
I hope he just focus on keeping us safe, I don't care provided we are a League Two team next season. If he does that, we'll get the points. PS. I also believe Hardy/Nolan will attract better players wanting to play with 'pride' than we have previously seen, recruiting will hopefully be spot on from here on.

Shola Ameobi delighted with scoring first Notts County goal
It was well taken, but I still believe his penalty was one of the worst one's I've seen. Coming from his pedigree, he should have done better. I don't mind if its a great save, yet despite fans near to me suggesting this was the case - it really wasn't. Ameobi gave it a way from his position and very poor placement/power. He made up for it mind.

You could tell Notts was nervous in the first half. Our attacks wasn't convincing, yet we played in a controlling way that allowed us to take the edge. There was a few moments that made me concerned, though we made up for them quite well. Adam Collin slipped as he kicked off, to which the ball landed straight to an Hartlepool player and we was in no man's land. This highlighted for me the lack of confidence throughout their players, as normally you'd expect someone to take a pop a goal. Perhaps it fell to the wrong player? Yet we can consider ourselves lucky. Likewise we did two very short back passes with Hartlepool players could have intercepted, allowing them to be clean through on goal. One Collin superbly gathered the ball, the other Bola kicked out. The goal for us made a massive difference, it allowed us to play with a bit of 'ease' in our passing and as a result we started playing with a more direct manner. We had two chances before the wonderful effort by Jorge Grant. So I would say we was comfortable, even after we conceded the own goal. I felt Haydn Hollis played very well and I wished some would try to give him credit when it is due, it may help the lad. Can we blame him for the goal? Of course we can't. You could argue Collin should have held the ball or thought twice about where he pushed the ball after saving, it's never wise to push it to into your own penalty box with heaps of players around. However, the ball came in fast and it was hard. I think we can be forgiving to everyone involved as it was nothing more than a fluke, despite the Hartlepool players reacting like they had just won the F.A Cup. Sorry lads, you simply wasn't good enough.- Meet the Fans: Notts County vs. Hartlepool United, Saturday 11 March 2017
Pride of Nottingham were at Meadow Lane for Notts County's 2-1 victory over Hartlepool United on Saturday March 11. The Magpies took the lead via Shola Ameobi, who scored his first goal for the club and made amends for missing a penalty earlier in the match. Loanee Jorge Grant then struck a wonderful long-range effort to put Notts two up, ensuring that Haydn Hollis's unfortunate own goal proved little more than a consolation for the visitors. Before the game, PON spoke to several fans to ask them several questions, including whether manager Kevin Nolan should play, thoughts on thoughts on Alan Hardy's season ticket renewal price freeze, opinions on the new pitch and a prospective new scoreboard, and of course the score prediction. There was a few panic moments in both half's, yet I don't think we can really blame Hollis - it was a fluke goal and I never felt like they would score myself. Only way I saw them doing it is if we gifted it to them (which we did but it was an accident). The poor clearance by Adam Collin, the two short back passes to him (he made up for the few blips he had). Yet without the goal I think we would have struggled. We need to be practising taking penalties because if we had scored that, it would have released some of the pressure for sure. Also, I think the fans made a huge difference once they became vocal. - Video Discussion: Jorge Grant's rocket v Hartlepool
