Match Discussion: Game 35 - The Boro (A)
Stevenage are a more physical side, yet they're nothing to be fear. I was pleased to see we didn't go to Plymouth just to defend, so that same attitude needs to be applied here - yet we need to be wary of how Stevenage like to control games. I doubt they will give us a lot of time on the ball. So we will need to make the most of what we can build, I think set pieces will be the key to breaking them down. If I was Nolan, I'd practice a couple of drills - mixing from corners and free kicks, in an effort to see if we can create the time required to get good chances. However, Notts should show no fear! No prediction but I feel very, very confident. COYP

Match Report: Notts County edge further away from drop zone with win at Plymouth Argyle
Good things come to those who wait, want it and work hard. So pleased for Notts! After the last three years, we deserve a little something to celebrate and I hope we can soon safety say we are a League Two team next season. What doesn't break you only makes you stronger and all that stuff.

Match Discussion: Game 34 - The Pilgrims (A)
Did anyone else hear the moans and whines from the Plymouth fans virtually every minute? It was quite amusing, and I kept thinking 'how we've been there' but I don't think they created a very good atmosphere - it probably only encourage our players and fans (who sounded up for it even before kick-off). It was a fantastic performance and hopefully it over shadows last Tuesday (which it should do). We can't win every game but I'd take a win over Plymouth any day of the week, rather than a loss or win over Yeovil (if we could only have one or the other). The point is massive block towards the confidence in which Nolan is building. What is these clean sheets we are getting now? Massive change but we need to keep our focus. I don't think Nolan will allow anyone to lose that or their belief. COYP!

Kevin Nolan hails "perfect performance" from Notts County at Plymouth Argyle
Kevin called the tactics right yesterday, after reading comments on Twitter - I did worry that we had setup to park the bus (or do a Yeovil as a few suggested). The performance may be one we look back on and say this is where we pushed on and secured our league status, very confident right now - Kevin Nolan is a fantastic find for us. Great result yesterday also.

Match Discussion: Game 34 - The Pilgrims (A)
I always hoped my comment above would be wrong, how decent is Nolan becoming? There was some negatives over the line-up which was chosen. Going into the second half with the 1-0 will be massive for us. We need to come out confident in the second half and avoid cards at all cost! COYP

Match Discussion: Game 34 - The Pilgrims (A)
I can see it going one of two ways. They'll either defeat us and Notts will put in a woeful performance which will insight fans into feeling down/negative (which is natural), or we'll do well but narrowly lose to a side that plays quite convincingly as promotion contenders. I would love to see us go there and play like we did at the start of the season or perhaps Stevenage the other year, though that's pushing the boat. We've been down in the dumps until the takeover, so we will have to takes this as it comes. I do think they will win 2-0, though I hope we play well and surprise them - I just don't expect it. COYP!

Josh Clackstone: 'Notts County a great club for my development'
Notts do have a good record with working with youngsters who have the right attitude and commitment towards playing, there are some that haven't worked out but I would question a mix of things that interfered with that. Provided a youngster has a good set of attributes and skill, they should do fine in League Two. Clackstone does seem to have something about him, I found he can read the game quite well and he looked quite settled in defence last Saturday.

Notts Joe: Fan disappointment with Yeovil Town stalemate shows just how far Notts County have come
Yesterday’s goalless draw against Yeovil Town may not have been the best performance we have seen during the ‘new era’ at Meadow Lane; however, it was a united team with all the players working as one unit. Some fans are unimpressed with the "boring" stalemate, but in a way this shows how far we've come in such a short amount of time - after all, a point and a clean sheet in the derby felt like a godsend bearing in mind what preceded it. Personally I would highlight the atmosphere. Despite the disconnected performance up front, Notts fans actively got behind the players and the atmosphere was very impressive. This is only confirmed further by the fact that attendances – a very respectable 7,141 (200 of whom was visiting fans). The attendances have naturally lifted the clubs spirit since the takeover and I have mentioned in the past how Notts seems to have their mojo back. Yet despite all this, the progress being made is clear for all to see, the atmosphere around Meadow Lane should only flourish and prosper further – especially during the 2017/2018 season. I sat in two different locations having changed seats at half time, and the comments that were expressed during both periods were largely positive – with only some forming debatable opinions. Usually, you are prone to hearing a variety of comments which I can only describe as ‘nonsense’, but yesterday I heard none. Players who usually receive negative comments, such as Haydn Hollis, actually put in a very impressive performance. Receiving comments from many fans that I spoke to after the game, both around Meadow Lane and within the Navi afterwards. Something else which I would note is largely down to the change in atmosphere around the club, at this stage it seems very supportive and I would urge people to encourage this – naturally there will be times when disappointment will lead to a change in feelings but it’s important to still actively keep the positive vibe during games. Kevin Nolan has also seen spoken about how the players were disappointed with the goalless draw, stating “the lads were all disappointed in the dressing room and I was delighted with that because it shows how far we have come in such a short space of time”. Yes, I would say that three points from Yeovil were there for the taking – a team that usually plays quite well against us, but the side that took the field yesterday for them was largely unimpressive. And despite this I left the ground feeling happy and proud, as I do feel more much comfortable regarding the safety of our club – I feel we have exorcised our demons and hopefully those shadows and lurking vibes remain only thing of the past. I would agree with the popular opinion that Notts weren't the best either, however we defended well – whilst Adam Collin wasn’t largely tested, he did look comfortable for 90 minutes, something which I personally would like to see more of. Our defence looked perfectly fine, very much up to the task of keeping any Yeovil player at bay. Whilst I would like to see more improvements made in midfield, we did pass the ball around nicely – creating good movements and opportunities for greater chances to come. It was simply for me a case of Jon Stead and Shola Ameobi having an off game – if they had connected better I would have said there would be no question of the Notts peformance. That said, I don’t think they played ‘badly’ – just disconnected as team partners. Ameobi linked up well with midfield and held the ball up well. With Stead doing more defensive cover than I feel he should have, along with a lot more running in wider areas – you just want to see him near the opposition penalty box. However, both strikers gave a lot of energy up front and on another day they may have gotten a goal. The key thing that I have taken away from the game is confidence; I know that we can avoid leaking goals under Kevin Nolan. I can see the massive strides that the players are giving, we are finally getting that ‘pride’ in wearing their shirt. I wouldn’t remotely feel disappointed myself, yesterday was just one of those games where we didn’t create a clear goalscoring opportunity. Do you agree with NJ? Kevin Nolan: 'Notts County players disappointed by Yeovil Town stalemate'
I've written thoughts on all of this and it will soon be published, I would add that I didn't leave disappointed. I feel the atmosphere and overall performance was decent - there was no moments whereby I feel annoyed or disappointed. So, I think we have better focuses right now. Though I would say it was a good thing that the players are disappointed because that highlights their desire to put things right.

Match Discussion: Game 33 - The Glovers (H)
The game wasn't as bad as I am seeing from various places in terms of comments. We was by far the better team, Yeovil wasn't at all impressive and looked like a side content to draw. That said, I did fear they would pinch the only goal by fluke but was about right. Of course Notts had chances but in the final third they wasn't that good. I think both strikers had an off day during the match, I also think we made the wrong changes but overall we defended well, passed it around nicely in midfield and Collin looked comfortable. Its a fair result for me, and I actually found the game to be quite entertaining.

Video Discussion: Kevin Nolan on the Notts County fans
Last season after Ricardo was sacked, Meadow Lane just became very depressing. This season to a degree it's been quite awful, just the vibe and lack of atmosphere. Everything has been lifted with the sale of the club - its like a different place. Despite struggling, fans are showing that is support if you value it and Kevin Nolan seems very promising in terms of what he brings. Him and Alan Hardy seem to be the right pairing. Nolan is also quite amusing and another PON member mentioned how he reminds him of Martin Allen. Well the comment about fans telling their wives about them going to the game, that's MA all over. LOL

Notts County season ticket holders to get exclusive discount for next season's packages
Alan Hardy will soon learn some fans will just complain (whether right or wrong), also that some people will just want something in return because someone else has gotten another deal. I don't care remotely about that, though I do understand why some fans have expressed concern. Personally, I just want to see Meadow Lane buzzing and busy. Hopefully this will keep the peace but some tweets I have seen are just amusing.

Match Discussion: Game 33 - The Glovers (H)
I don't like the optimism because it's leading to the wheelbarrow becoming broken again. That said we should beat Yeovil, however if recent memories serve me correct - they tend to be our bogie team. They're not the side they was a few years back and I am sure if we get behind the game, make as much noise as possible it will be rewarding. My heart says it will be 1-1 draw. Provided we play well and work hard, it will do me. Just hope we can get points to push on now, as it's what we need for safety.

Match Discussion: Game 32 - The O's (A)
To be fair, in games like these you'll either see a tight contest and very few goals or what we did today. It sounded like our width was causing us more problems, very limited support from midfield (going off comments and the radio). There's little negatives with the result or performance because we got what matters and that's the win. Confidence should now be returning to a new high, so hopefully this will be the moment when we can look back and say 'safety was secured here'. A few more good wins and this shouldn't be a question - though I do feel for Newport and Orient who seem quite doomed.
