We had a very good player on our hands when we signed Johnnie Jackson. I thought it was a brilliant signing, and I believe his time with us could have been better had he managed to settle in Nottingham. However, I overheard comments he made about Notts, Nottingham, and other matters during a meeting at my former workplace. The media reported that he couldn't settle with his family in Nottingham, but the truth is he saw signing for us as a step back in his career. He believed he was bigger than Notts County and had already made efforts to leave, but we would only allow him to go out on loan at first. Professional players sometimes come with attitudes, and while you could easily forgive a young player for being ambitious, what I heard from him that day has been something I found difficult to forget. I don't dislike him; I hate him. Any player who believes Notts would be a good move, only to become two-faced and feel entitled to play at a higher level, doesn't deserve respect. He didn't like fighting for his place, and while I don't particularly care if he hated Nottingham, disrespecting Notts County really angered me.

Almost the end of day 2, it's been a blast. We haven't yet managed to get to the sea front, today it's been raining on and off, sometimes very heavily. We went for a meal in a arcade/pub called "Empire". They do really nice meals, and I had a pizza. I forget what Super had, but it kept him quiet. He hasn't had a kip today, so it must have been the early start! After walking around, and popping in a few arcades - one if which @super_ram came 1st out of 4 in a Super Mario Kart, against Jake, Ellie and Ava. We strolled back along Roman Bank, and stop for a final drink before calling it a night. It's very windy tonight, but honestly, I do mean Super! ????

I thought the result showed the level of improvement not only the new signings have made, but what is brought to the team under Stuart Maynard. It sounded like Wimbledon felt they could get more, and by all accounts they do sound as if they were the better team. Performances sometimes have to be overlooked, because the result is that important - as is returning to winning ways on home soil. We have the foundation to prove our promotion chasing credentials, so let's not get tied up in the performance. I am sure the squad sees there's a need for improvement in the long term, but the short term is maximising the points we pick up. Last season, I would have feared 1-0 wouldn't have been enough, considering how much Wimbledon threw towards us, and by all accounts defensively we were decent and Alex Bass exceptional between the sticks.

So far, it’s a bit rainy and dull here in Skegness. Kate and I went to collect Super, who is staying the night with us. We had an early start, catching two taxis to the train station. The journey was very pleasant and quiet. Once we arrived at our destination, we headed straight to where we’re staying. After a brief rest, we all had a little sleep, mainly for Super and his beauty routine. We’ve now ventured out and are currently sitting in The Suncastle. We’ll be moving on soon, but Super is happy as he’s just had a beer.

If users don't see the feedback and the feature has changed so that responses are only internal, I will make sure that alerts are used as a means to inform people. ????

Down vote's very much a Reddit thing, I believe it's counterproductive. The general purpose is intended to make relevant content show at the very top, but over the years sites like Reddit keep just having it as a means to disagree. I am a member of Reddit, and often get downvoted by trolls. Many of my responses often reflect themes of despair and hopelessness. and related areas, and I always post useful advice which is different to every response, so I really don't like the idea of it. I have always seen the Pride of Nottingham as a place to promote togetherness, and constructive discussions. I wouldn't want negative reactions to diminish someone's effort. Whilst the majority of members are mature enough to handle it, I don't see it as productive. We also do have some under the age of 18, to which I wouldn't want the feature to be misused or see them discouraged just because people don't agree with comments. Haha, Surprised, Confused and Sad can all be taken in different ways. Disagreeing with a post can be done in a reply, where you can give a proper reply as to why you disagree, therefore you can generate a discussion respectfully that points out differences. When you rely on a reaction, without addressing it - it can see a bit personal and very counterproductive. I firmly believe if you encourage positive behaviour, positivity will shine. If you allow room for anything, that can be taken negatively it can lead to bigger issues. It's not about keeping the community in cotton wool; it's about framing the site in the right way. I'll PM you. I would be interested to see these comments. I'm not suggesting that they don't exist, but I am curious to see them and I would make sure that the behaviour doesn't continue if it does come across as disrespectful.

Yes, I was under the impression that that's why we're able to give feedback. So, there seems to be a setting or bug issue. I have asked a friend well more reversed in the settings, I go back to using this software when it was alpha of the first version. However, I openly admit the ACP changes so much over the years I haven't really kept with it. Permissions has always been a bug bear though, as there are several areas and other forum solutions do seem to keep them in one logical area. You have user permissions, moderation permissions, group permissions etc. Some features have their own, which isn't very organised, but I will look into it.

Back in the day, when something was reported you would get a notification which would take you to the report back of the issue/concerned raised. I just checked, and it seems like the goal post has moved, or I need to check the settings. If responses aren't sent any more, I will ask team members to respond here if it's a public decision or privately if it requites being discreet. As for the topic about Scottish football which mentions BREXIT in the title, I think it's better where it is but note it could turn more political which will be reviewed at that stage. For now, I am happy enough that it falls within the correct forum. I will investigate the feedback on the report system. Have you ever heard back, @Robbie?

I do believe team members get notifications, and that emails are sent. I see the report. I'll need to make sure I explain to the team we should be checking this area more often, as it is easy to overlook. The issue I find with notifications is that I get a fair amount, and then it becomes like a needle in a haystack. I'm also quite e-mail blind, and by this I check so many accounts that I do acknowledge I miss some. I'll be sure to find a way to make it easier for me to notice important emails. Cedwyn Scott has done the right thing by opening up, asking for time, and seeking the appropriate support channels. This won't be an easy challenge for him to face, but we as fans can't allow him to feel like football is more important than his happiness. At the same time, we must offer him the support needed to show that once he does return that we will continue to be by his side. As a Notts player, his wellbeing is important but on a human level, his happiness and mental health is even more vital. Speaking from personal experience, people say it's brave to open up but some, like myself, can find speaking openly helpful. The worst part is if you don't have that support network, or if you seem to lose those you thought were your friends whilst struggling. Loneliness can be part of it, but depression is much more. It's a horrible thing to experience, so offering support is what helps. Again, I stress this isn't me making it about myself - but I relate to it.

It's going to be interesting because they thrashed Carlisle United, whereas we were lucky to come back without conceding or even losing the start we had made in the game. I do feel more confident at Meadow Lane, despite using not having won our two previous games against Gillingham and Port Vale. They are quite free scoring, but if we defend effectively and avoid being pressed into passing the ball back to much - they should find us harder. Still I think Alex Bass might be relayed upon more than we have seen so far at Meadow Lane, I would be surprised if he didn't need to make some very important saves. League Two is still very unpredictable, with not much between many teams, and I just hope Notts are at their best. We need a strong squad performance, rather than a few individuals standing out. It has to start with the back, but Dan Crowley might be the player who keeps us on the front foot. It should be a great game, it's a shame I won't be there.

I am very disappointed by the appointment, not because he's German but because I don't rate him as a manager. Thomas Tuchel should have been given longer at Chelsea, so it's not that, but I just don't see him as being a strong candidate for an international team. Danny Mills makes an interesting point about Tuchel missing two games before he takes over. I don't know if he has commitments currently, but I think it's negative that a manager doesn't want to jump into his position with games before - something which would help him in the longer term you would imagine? Gareth Southgate will prove to his doubters, just why he managed to have such success with England despite not being considered the level required going in, and massively being disrespected for what he did achieve during his time. There will always be negative, and mardy "fans" in football, but I do think appointing from within the U21s is a good way to go about it. I had no issue personally giving Lee Carsley longer, as I think his knowledge of playing coming up would be something useful in the long run. Anyone appointed is likely to need time, and might not be the best candidate, but it's what they bring to the team which gives me potential in their ability. Tuchel is very unknown at the international level, and I am very doubtful he will get the best out of us. As it's been stated, there's not a wide range of good candidates, but I just don't feel we had to rush.

I noticed graphics floating around last week saying that Sir Alex Furguson is going back to Manchester United. I didn't believe it but did search to find no genuine news about it. I don't know if this is changed, hence the rumours, but there's a reason why he retired. Manchester United have bigger problems, which I don't think Furguson would fix. Even if he managed to improve their situation, it would be a short term option. They need to stand by an appointment, and work as a club from top to bottom to make sure things change.

I have seen comments about it being his cousin. I can't confirm, but I doubt he would randomly hug someone. Unless they have played together before? I don't know, but I have seen people on Facebook state it's his cousin.

Shall we try to make the Alfreton game special? @Fan of Big Tone @super_ram. Just like the old days? Come on, Super. You can stay warm, come to the game. It's a good draw, much better than being drawn away from home.

Once I get to the bottom of it, I will post an announcement about it. It does seem to be a formatting bug, I haven't seen any whilst using my laptop so far - so it could be isolated to mobiles. This matter isn't related to CSS. Possible another issue with the last patch. ????

I thought it was an enjoyable derby, between two very good teams. I don't think Chesterfield can be compared to our style of passing play. Personally, I thought they were a bit more direct, and unafraid to take a chance. There were times when we tried to pass the ball out from the back, yet Chesterfield marked the defence quite heavily and made the space very compact. Knocking the ball backwards, and then sideways, to and from each other as Chesterfield tried closing us down just looked uncomfortable at times. I wish we would just try to draw teams out more, as we don't really look to create space but wait for it to open up. I'm not sure if this is always the best way, I mean I get the patient play but if nobody tries to lose their marker then we are playing into how the opposition wants. It was pleasing to see Dan Crowley try from distant, even though some of his efforts weren't really that good. All he needs is one of those chances to pay off, so I would actually encourage it. Kellan Gordon is very good in the transition going forward, losing his man and putting in balls into the box. With the likes of Jatta in the middle, this always seems likely to cause trouble and I do rate Gordon with his ability to float in clever crosses. Jodi Jones can over hit them, but Gordon seems more consistant with putting them in the right area. Both Sam Austin and, in the past, Aaron Nemane have been prone to overhitting their crosses. Chestefield did look lively, I thought they had done enough to seal the game but thankfully, Jatta managed to make something, and then David McGoldrick converted the saved penalty. It's got that thrill of a Derby day, with a late goal and a point.

If we play two strikers, then we need to make sure the bench has options. I don't mind one striker away from home, but to play Chesterfield I do think a single striker would limit us. Jevani Brown will most likely be on the bench, so will we opt for Jatta and David McGoldrick? I can't see Cedwyn Scott being played in an attacking position, unless we do start with him as a midfielder and switch things up. Then again, we could do that with David McGoldrick; it's really a limiting option though. McGoldrick and Jatta do work well, but then that leaves just Brown as backup as Scott will most likely be played out of position. I really do think with our limits up top, that if he is available for selection that we start giving a chance from time to time as a striker. I remember when we got promoted many Chesterfield fans saying they wouldn't have any of our players, though I think on paper we are stronger. As a team, I think they edge things and of course, then there's the home advantage. It's going to be a close game; I can't see either team running away with it. What are the chances of the deciding goal being scored around the 87th minute mark? I really hope we turn up, give a confident performance and can focus solely on our football. No issues with the officials etc.

Well, I believe Dion Dublin, who was a prolific striker for Coventry, also played as a centre back - I believe he ended up playing at Norwich City as a defender. The issue I have with Robbie Cundy playing as a striker, is it shows how we should have hung onto four options or at the very least have a young striker who could have gained some valuable experience. Jürgen Klopp also made the change, I thought I recalled John Terry having done it, but it seems he was a midfielder. I have no issue if there's effort, Cundy did try, but I mean we have two strikers since Cedwyn Scott is being played as a midfielder. Remember Harry Kewell thinking he could make players perform out of position, i.e Shaun Brisley.

I noticed and fixed it now. This must have been caused by the bug from the recent patch. The fix to allow Redis (cache) to work must have overridden the community URL preference. I have corrected this now. Sorry, @Wheelbarrow repair man, were you getting errors because the topics were linking you to /forums/topictitle instead of /community/topictitle? It makes sense now. I should have thought about it. Unfortunately, this is day three of having a migraine, and I am squinting to see text. No excuse, but I do hope this resolves things. Thanks, @CliftonMagpie.

@Wheelbarrow repair man: We really could do with topics being located in the correct forum, sometimes they can clash and as a team we make the decision to move them to where is most appropriate. When a topic is moved, the URL doesn't change. If a topic title is edited, the URL is updated but the original will just update to the new one in a seamless way. None of these changes should affect your use of the site. If something's off, I can investigate what is causing it, but topics really need to be posted to the correct forum.
