  1. Alan will quickly need to learn that any offers need to be targeted across a spectrum of fans, as he won't please everyone. Students will be next.
  2. Out of the last dozen managers, Nolan is the first I actually listen out for after a game. He speaks with sense and passion, its good to have someone like that here. He reminds me of Martin Allen in a sense.
  3. Crawley, Cheltenham and now Leyton Orient, all big wins for Notts. Poor teams but all showed some fighting spirit, maybe not so much Cheltenham but they moved the ball around well. Big test is about to come but I feel we have more structure under Nolan. He is doing well and credit must fall equally on his and the players shoulders. I feel quite proud to be a Notts again, the lads are showing the spirit we have wanted to see all season. Well done Notts!
  4. Notts had a spring in their steps from scoring the first goal, after Crawley scored I though here we go but credit to the players they held up and scored again. Forte could be a big player us.
  5. If he can hold the ball, win headers and do the running which Stead can't. Notts should go for it but I can't help but feel the BBC have jumped the gun over a comment. I don't expect him to arrive at meadow lane any time soon.
  6. Limited and bleak football today. The performance was a step back, just little threat and we hung on at times.
  7. Alan has stuck to his word when it comes to announcements so far correct? Makes you think he is a good judge of character or knows things are already in the process of being tied. @Super_Danny_Allsopp will know what I mean regarding the previous regime jumping the gun.
  8. Will we have a manager by then? I hope for Alan Smith's sake he doesn't take charge of another game, its not his fault but a derby game is one you need to have the knowledge at hand. I have heard rumours that the manager is set to be appointed on Friday morning. No idea who it is but will feel happier once there is someone in charge.
  9. No fuel in the derby game, just broken rails and plenty of excuses.
  10. If only the players had half of the pride of PON. Good write up @notts-joe
  11. The squad need to work out a system which can allow them to play the ball forward. Very early on against Accrington Stanley we ran out of ideas, then struggled to match their work rate. The 2016/17 squad are up and down, time for consistency.
  12. Impressive display by the youth team, they deserved the victory.
  13. We should not single out one player or hype them up before the season begins. I would much prefer to see Notts praise players when and where it is due. Stead is a good player. But I expect more from Sheridan myself.
  14. Fully agree with this. A rallying call would go a long way, the club need to prepare bridges with those they can but I worry its to late and not all will be like me.
  15. I do not think Notts will go for someone else in contract. If Martin Allen was unattached he would be ideal to steady the reigns. I just do not see the club paying compensation for a manager, I have money on another unknown manager with no experience.
  16. Defending and shooting practises? I hope so.
  17. I may be mad to suggest it but I would not change the squad all that much. Mansfield should be written off and only the few should be benched as punishment. Barnet is a different type of opposition so we should not undo the recent work under Cooper. Give some players like Gibson more of a chance I agree but don't cut the squad up completely. It was always going to take time for things to settle, the thrashing may just be a blip. At least one would hope so.
  18. I thought Mansfield played well, again they looked more organized and wanted the result more. 5 goals don't deny that but I hope its just a bad day in the office.
  19. Good video.
  20. Noble did well yesterday. I thought Stevenage may get the better of him, what with all the pushing and tackles but he did well. Great goal by him also!!
  21. I was going to write the other night all that Cooper needs is a win behind him. Today he got that and I felt the whole squad which took part performed to an acceptable level. The determination to avoid frustration, fights with Stevenage players and buckle down highlighted the major change which we have under gone since a proper manager was appointed. The negativity around meadow lane has gone, along with watching half hearted performance or a squad with no idea how to play. Take a bow Mark Cooper, now lets see what he can do in the summer if we can keep him.
  22. This should be another 3 points if recent performances are to go by. It would be good for all if we could make it 2 in 2. Hartlepool will come to either attack or park the bus, much will be said by if they fear Mark Coopers Notts County or not. If they do, I expect a game like today.
  23. It was a lovely finish by Noble. The same can be said for the two disallowed, each was well taken but no grumbles over that.
  24. All Cooper is missing is a win. If on Saturday he and the players can achieve a victory, it will go along way to ending the season the best that it can. No thrills or drama, just play to score and defend well to win. We do not want miracles, just dedication and fight from here on. 2-0 Notts for me. Stead and Murray with the goals.
