Notts Alumni: Jeff Astle
Jeff was a great player and person. He was one of a kind in a group of players increasingly swayed by money and glamour. Jeff Astle was a traditional family man and an amazing footballer! I wish he had stayed at Notts longer, but great things always move on to pastures new.

Tranmere Rovers 0-0 Notts County: Magpies Dominate Possession but Settle for a Point at Prenton Park
I feel a bit torn by this result. On one hand, we played some beautiful football and controlled the game. On the other, we didn’t get the win we probably deserved. Bass really impressed in goal and made sure we didn’t go behind. Our attacking players need to sharpen up a bit though; 11 shots but only one on target isn’t good enough. It’s positive to see the team playing with such confidence though, and the new signings seem to be settling in well. If we can turn our possession into goals, we’ll be in for a great season. A solid start, but improvements needed.

Aaron Nemane to MK Dons, Conor Grant to Notts.
It’s hard to imagine Aaron Nemane not making the team. We really missed his speed and trickery against Tranmere Rovers today. His direct play, cut-backs, and attacking were always a big help. Defensively, he had his issues, but at least he tried, unlike Enzo Boldewijn. It’s an interesting choice from Notts, but swapping a few players for someone leaving isn’t a bad thing. I just think we might miss Nemane, but I welcome Conor Grant. He should be treated fairly and not criticised because a favourite player has left.

Conor Grant Eager to Make an Impact at Notts County After Signing From MK Dons
We need to give him a fair chance, so I'm happy to welcome him and hope he does well for us. Notts has made an interesting choice, but I must say again, it's not his fault we lost Aaron Nemane. He speaks well, and I hope he grows with Notts.

Notts County Mobile App
Not impressed, very buggy. It crashes every time I try the video tab, with random freezing and slowdowns. What works is nice, but I don’t see much advantage over just having a website that does the same thing.

Quo vadis iFollow?
The new official site has more bugs than an old, run-down kitchen. I tried the app, but it crashes when I press the videos and randomly freezes. I'm not very impressed; this should have been sorted out before going live.

Match Discussion: Game 1 - Super White Army (A)
A satisfying opening game, with plenty of room for improvement, like taking more chances, but Notts worked hard. It’s hard not to appreciate our strong defence, solid at the back. We just need to carry the second-half approach through the full 90 minutes. Overall, it’s a very positive start to the season.

Match Preview: Tranmere Rovers and Notts County Gear Up for Exciting Season Start
This is going to be a big match for us, and I’m really excited to see how the new signings fit in. Jatta’s been on fire in pre-season, and I think he’ll be the key man for us against Tranmere. It’s always tough playing away from home, especially at a ground like Prenton Park, but if we stay disciplined and stick to our game plan, we should be able to get a result. Let’s hope we can start with a win!

Match Discussion: Game 1 - Super White Army (A)
I would expect Cedwyn Scott to start. He’s been given the number 9 shirt and is one of our best options in the attacking department. I think David McGoldrick will be more of a rotational player, perhaps coming on from the bench. I’m not sure where I would fit Jodi Jones in, but having him in a free-roaming, more attacking role would be good. He’s got goals, so I would love to see him take a few more chances from further away.

Cedwyn Scott on being No. 9
It sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom, but it’s a very good interview and I like Scott’s passion. He’s taking over the mantle that Langstaff built, and I am sure his boots will be just as good on goal. I am very encouraged to see how he does playing as a striker, instead of a bit deeper.

Forest Sign Grealish lookalike Jota Silva
I don’t understand the fuss that the BBC and other media outlets have been making about this deal. Just because a player looks like another doesn’t mean it should be the main focus. I see he’s already come out saying he’ll be better than Jack Grealish. Those are big words. Yes, he does look similar, but I am sure he’s his own player.

Black and White Memories: Ian Marsden on Passion, Family, and Football
The story of Ian's one of both dedication and inspiration. His lifelong love for Notts County, inherited from his father, highlights the deep-rooted tradition of football fandom. Even as he faces life’s challenges, such as Wendy's illness, Ian maintains his passion for the game. The special bond he shares with his daughter Paige over match days is a lovely reminder of how football can bring people together. The highs and lows of being a Notts fan, from cherished victories to crushing defeats, all form an integral part of Ian's journey. His resilience and joy in sharing these experiences underscore the powerful connection between fans and their clubs.

The future of my YouTube channel
It's clear you're very passionate about your channel, and the fact you're reaching out shows how much thought you're putting into this. It's never easy to deal with mental health challenges, and sometimes stepping back to focus on yourself is the best move. You have a dedicated following who enjoys your content, and that won't change if you decide to pause for a bit. Maybe use this time to reassess what you want and need from this project. You'll have clarity and can decide if and when you wish to return. We’ll support you either way.

Stuart Maynard. I'm Still Not Sure.
Only time can confirm if Stuart Maynard is the suitable person for the job. We must bear in mind that the head coach isn’t always to blame when results don’t go as planned. While I believe no one on PON wishes for Notts to fail, some fans do behave in this manner. They seem to derive a great deal of satisfaction from being negative for any reason they can find. I want Maynard to succeed and I support him more, but I question whether he can motivate the players enough for them to push themselves further for him. Luke Williams had this quality in abundance, but we can’t take it for granted or draw comparisons between them.

An Unhappy Football Memory
I hope you had the chance to watch England play international football abroad, @Wheelbarrow repair man. It’s unfortunate that they didn’t respect or verify the age of the applicants before raising your expectations. Thank you for sharing.

An Introduction To Ryley Reynolds
Yes, there are positive signs from him. He’s proficient with both feet, shows a willingness to participate and from the matches I’ve watched, which includes youth games, I understand the club’s perspective. They just need to commit to giving him playing time, loan him out for the first part of the season and then in the second half, allow him to accumulate appearances in our team.

Notts Academy Is There Any Point?
We should take pride in our academy. Instead of overhyping young players when they sign their first contract or renew it, they need to be given time in the first team. A few matches won’t determine if they are good enough. They need time to gain confidence and experience where their skills can be utilised. Sending them out on loan is one thing, but I agree that we need them to be able to perform well at our level. The club needs to be fearless and start identifying one or two youngsters who will be guaranteed at least 12 or more appearances over the season. Then gradually try to select them more often. If they don’t make the grade after being given time, I would feel much more confident about the academy serving a solid purpose, rather than being a talent farm for bigger clubs to harvest our players and then proceed to do what we fear.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Zebras (A)
It’s not disheartening. There were numerous changes for Notts around the time when the game tipped in the host’s favour. Sam Slocombe faced a lot of action at times, but he performed well and was highly praised. The 3-1 loss, after being 1-0 up, suggests to me that our first team would have been more capable of maintaining the lead. It’s not as if we would field multiple youth players in a league match, but those who deserved the opportunity to play.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Chairboys (A)
It will be a good test. I’m always curious to see how we perform against teams that are at a higher level than us. Playing against Wycombe will provide valuable insight for the club. Hopefully, fans will show patience as we head into the new season, particularly with Stuart Maynard. There’s no need for any drastic changes at the moment, and friendlies shouldn’t result in calls for his dismissal.
