Warnock to leave Huddersfield
I also hope Neil Warnock chooses to stay retired and enjoy his well-earned free time. He’s free to support any football team he likes. It would be wonderful to welcome him back to Meadow Lane.

Ed Davey? I’m not sure who that is.

Wrexham sign Steven Fletcher
As for Steven Fletcher, he should have a successful season with us. Beyond that? It’s possible he might decide to retire, much like Ben Foster.

Early days, but promising signs for Notts County
Though it’s still early days, you can already see the progress we’re making. Last season, our squad thrived in the face of tough competition, pushing themselves to excel as a team. It seems to be the same case this season, but we must maintain our current form. Our home performance is typically strong, so it’s not a cause for concern. However, we need to ensure we keep up our form when playing away from home, which I’m confident we can do.

Notts County vs. Tranmere Rovers: Match build-up
Today’s match is a cliché of being a must-win situation, but given Tranmere Rovers’ poor form, we need to put pressure on their defence. I don’t expect it to be easy, but if Notts work hard and create enough opportunities, while being alert at the back, I don’t see why we can’t win.

Notts County’s Head Coach Luke Williams on Eliminating Errors and Improving Efficiency
I think it’s obvious that with the team returning to the EFL and taking part in League Two, it would take time for things to click. Luke Williams also hasn’t managed at this level, which some fans may go on about being excuses, but they are truths. When you start a new job, virtually everyone needs a few weeks to a month to get up to speed with things. Notts are no different with football, we are progressing nicely, a win on Saturday would put the club one step closer to being somewhere most fans should be happy with. I will accept mistakes and try not to be too critical of the players.

Match Discussion: Game 5 - Super White Army (H)
I had Tranmere Rovers as being the game I felt the most nervous about in the early round of games, with them expected to be up there at the end of the season. I thought Grimsby Town would have been a bit easier, as they are still somewhat hit and miss. Whereas Tranmere has a lot of quality, quality that we can’t ignore but it’s reserved since the season has started. I don’t want this to come across as if I think the game will be easy, it won’t, but I feel we are at the level in our game where if we work hard enough and create those chances, goals will come for us. The nervous feeling I had looking at the fixtures at the start of the season has gone, replaced with optimism.

I hope Morecambe avoid the point penalty, I wish them nothing but the best.

Booing the Knee
I want to be mindful when saying this, but there’s no need for taking the knee to be happening in football. Georgios Katidis was rightly punished for making a political gesture which isn’t acceptable. I won’t say what, as most should know. The same happened to three Switzerland players, Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri. There have been others connected to religious beliefs and groups like the IRA. The Black Lives Matter movement is a political movement, all these examples are not about spreading awareness and are various levels of political statements. None of which are needed in the game, however, I wouldn’t boo anyone for taking the knee. I do wish it’s phased out of sports. Everyone should try harder to get along and be kinder to anyone regardless of their backgrounds.

Notts County’s Journey in League Two: A Discussion
One point I forgot to mention earlier is that after the Sutton United defeat, I noticed a fair number of fans who believed we wouldn’t score goals as freely because Ruben Rodrigues had left and they felt we would lack in this area. I never agreed. I think we have the best midfield and one of the strongest attacking options up front. Notts has new players in David McGoldrick and Dan Crowley who can create magic. Matt Palmer makes games look effortless when the team is performing well, so I have faith in the attacking area. Defensively, however, is the area where we need to see improvements.

The bond between Notts players, club, and fans
It’s not like the Notts County I know, and it’s making supporting the club all the more enjoyable. I am still expecting something to go wrong and I don’t want it to happen. I am just used to good periods followed by negative ones. We had four good years in the National League, and so far in League Two, it’s been mostly positive. The connection between the club and fans needs to continue because it makes a big difference for Notts. It makes it enjoyable and it feels like everyone in attendance wants to see Notts do well. My only wish is that people on social media could be a bit more positive themselves.
