  1. As a lifelong resident of Nottingham, I don't have an exciting background story worth sharing. Despite this, I have contemplated leaving the city several times. My only reason for staying is Notts County - a club that I am passionate about. Frankly, I don't have much appreciation for the city itself.
  2. It would surprise me, but cricket is a sport that is viewed more casually. Perhaps Notts should consider adopting this strategy to reduce costs, though they would have to think about how to manage the associated cleaning expenses.
  3. It's not uncommon to hear people jokingly talk about The Nottingham Post being a lesser publication in recent years. If Ollie left because he chose to, then he might have recognised that there is tremendous pressure, but there are fewer rewards.
  4. I am hopeful that Ruben stays, as he is a vital player in our team, and it would be challenging to see him adapting to life quickly in another club. However, if he does decide to leave, I would prefer it to be for a team like Derby, where he could continue to flourish.
  5. This is a massive statement of intent from Notts County. Jodi Jones is a top talent who can take us to the next level. He’s got a lot of pace and skill and he can unlock any defence with his passes and dribbles. He was sensational during his loan spell and I’m ecstatic that he’s staying with us for longer. His ability to create chances and score goals will be invaluable to the team as we push for promotion. The club has shown great ambition in securing his signature and I can’t wait to see him in action again.
  6. I hadn't previously contemplated signings in depth, but I'll need to examine the retained lists of other clubs and revisit this topic. Notts County will undoubtedly be sifting through numerous players, selecting only those who align with their strategic plans.
  7. It's delightful to witness returning members dedicating their time and energy to contribute to the site once more.
  8. He has been known to take credit for accomplishments but behaves rudely when things don't go his way. In my opinion, he bears a significant responsibility for the downfall of Notts County, as he did not have the necessary level of skill and experience. This was apparent to anyone who observed his performance, regardless of whether we were playing against his team. Given his salary, it seems unjustifiable to continue employing him when a more competent goalkeeper could fill the position and contribute to the team's success.
  9. What amazing scenes they were! It was truly an incredible experience to be a part of something like that. To see the club finally return all of the support that the fans have been giving them through all of their struggles over the seasons was truly special. This journey has been one for the books, and the ending was nothing short of magnificent. And now, it's even more exciting to think about what's to come. With League Two up next, who knows what kind of success the team might find there? There's a whole lot of potential for this club yet, and I can't wait to see what happens next!
  10. While I may not particularly enjoy seeing them in the Premier League, I can definitely deal with it. Any fans who believe that it automatically makes them superior are likely more entitled than anything else. Being a team that's always near to the bottom of the league isn't exactly the most fun, but for me, my focus is solely on Notts County. I actually think that Nottingham Forest could try to network with our club and improve their relationship with us. It's interesting to remember how Forest fans used to complain about the Reedtz brothers attending their games, though I'm certainly not that bad!
  11. It’s great to see Luke Williams taking the time to speak and promote Notts to young and impressionable supporters. I’m surprised they didn’t invite Kyle Cameron to join him and add more to the segment. Even though he wasn’t available, they could have waited for him.
  12. Welcome to the community! The Pride of Nottingham is a great site for discussing Notts County. @CountyFan2105
  13. The retained list is almost not worth discussing because all I can say is that I wish the three departing players all the best. Archie Mair has a bright future and I hope all the players sign new deals with the club.
  14. I think the players deserve some downtime. I won’t dwell on Ruben’s drink handling - he’s just having fun and it’s innocent. He just needed to sleep it off.
  15. Charlie Slater and Mark Stallard make a good duo. I hope there’s less mixing them up in the future and more moments like this!
  16. I don’t see Macaulay Langstaff going anywhere yet. Clubs may be scouting him, but I hope that doesn’t put pressure on him. He just needs to play his game and not worry about his future - he’s in control of that.
  17. Ryan Reynolds has been nothing short of praiseworthy since buying Wrexham. I’m sure he doesn’t want any applause for doing it, but the fact that he wished Notts County well is extra special. The fact that he’s rooting for us and hoping we go up says a lot about him as a person.
  18. While the playoff uncovered video was fantastic, it would be great to see more effort put into the PiesPlayer next season. There is definitely demand for video content, but it would be nice if not everything ended up on YouTube for free. The club could ensure that teasers are released while reserving the best bits for subscribers to watch.
  19. Many happy returns, Chris. Wishing you all the very best.
  20. It’s not impossible to imagine Notts achieving back-to-back promotions. The question is, how will the club cope and manage life in League One? It’s a much tougher league and we would likely need to bring in many more reinforcements if we were to push for the Championship. League One could be where we start to sell players for higher fees than we paid for them. This would allow the club to spend money, but it comes at the cost of establishing a settled squad. I’m not sure if Notts can replicate Luton’s achievement. We have moved between divisions and I’m uncertain if I would prefer to see us build steadily like Brentford, Bournemouth, Watford and other clubs have done.
  21. I thought Aaron Nemane had a superb game against Chesterfield. The way he dinked the ball past their players and still managed to beat them was magical to see. I wish Adam Chicksen had played his more direct game, but something seems to be going on with him. Perhaps it’s a lack of confidence or just fatigue from the long season he’s played. Nonetheless, keeping Nemane must be a top priority for Notts. We need his pace out wide in League Two.
  22. Promotion is more important than performance, but Notts didn’t put in a terrible display. A lot of it can be attributed to nerves and not adjusting quickly enough to Chesterfield’s fast attacks. They pushed Notts and the defenders couldn’t find much space. Good teams in League Two will find ways to close us down, so it’s clear that we need to focus on this area. I thought Archie Mair’s saves were superb for a young keeper. He kept his cool and did remarkably well. Seeing the celebrations unfold on the pitch brought back happy memories of the 90s. It was great to see the players finally relax and laugh it off.
  23. Jim O'Brien's goal against Scunthorpe United was a standout moment this season. It's not just because I like him as a player, but purely because of the quality of the goal itself. If it weren't for that, I would have voted for him as Player of the Season too. He has consistently delivered outstanding performances and has been a key player for the team.
  24. The whole team has been outstanding this season and so many of the players could easily win Player of the Season. In a different year, it might have been any one of them. But this time, there can only be one answer. The team has worked together to achieve great success and it's a testament to their hard work and dedication.
  25. I'm surprised that more fans haven't voted for Aldershot as the Away Game of the Season. It was a great match and a memorable experience for those who were able to attend.
