  1. As for new signings, I’m not holding my breath. We’re no longer the team that scrambles at the deadline. I might have been persuaded to believe that a new player was on the horizon if there had been whispers or discussions about it. However, things have been quiet and typically, by this point, we would have had a more definitive indication of any potential signings.
  2. I fully anticipate a strong performance from Tranmere Rovers. We may seize our opportunities and pressure them into errors, but I don’t foresee them allowing us to dictate the game easily. I’m keen to see Adam Chicksen in the starting line-up, alongside Aaron Nemane. As predicted in the previous match discussion, Chicksen appeared eager to score. If we can get him in the same form as much of last season, we know he’s inventive enough to create and capitalise on any opportunities that come his way.
  3. Hello, welcome to the PON community @Sir Magpie.

    Welcome to the community, @NorthPie.
  5. Welcome to the PON website @JustLikeJuve.
  6. Personal achievements aside, it's refreshing to see Langstaff speak about the team so positively. The unity and hard work that's going into getting these results really stand out.
  7. There's undoubtedly a special kind of magic watching our beloved Notts play now. It's not only about performance but also the spirit and unity that are evident. This strong connection involving the players, club, and us fans has significantly charged the atmosphere around us. It's not merely about scoring goals; it's the collective roars that erupt from the stands when we do, and the evident camaraderie that lifts up the team when things aren't going as planned. It truly feels as though the relationship between the team and the fans has evolved, and we are genuinely part of the journey. Every ounce of passion, every cheer, and every song is not just about support but about being part of a family, part of Notts County.
  8. As the away game is approaching, the excitement and anticipation certainly build up! I agree that an early Notts goal can ease some of the pressure. However, we should prepare for a good fight from Doncaster Rovers. Let's hope our lads come out on top.
  9. Queens Park Rangers 0-0 Ipswich Town Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Preston North End Cambridge United 3-1 Bristol Rovers Carlisle United 1-1 Exeter City Grimsby Town 0-1 Mansfield Town Sutton United 0-2 AFC Wimbledon Rochdale 1-0 Eastleigh Wealdstone 2-1 AFC Fylde Joker
  10. The managers sentiment on the need for focus during games is crucial. The easy goals let in could be a result of momentary lapses in concentration, which we cannot afford, especially in crucial games. The ability to maintain focus even under stress is what differentiates an average team from a great one. I like how he not only pointed out the area of improvement but also reassures of appropriate training to address these issues. With such clear vision and plan, I am sure we can expect better performances in the upcoming matches.
  11. His words hit the nail on the head. Football goes beyond style and tactics. It's about resilience, belief and unity. Tenuous starts should not deter us. Let's march forward, COYP!
  12. It's clear the boys put their heart into every minute. Sure, we've some ground to cover, but that's part of the learning curve. The focus should be on eliminating errors, improving our set piece defence, and honing our precision in passing. This takes us a step closer to levelling up.
  13. It's these kind of games when you really miss having a creative maestro in the squad. Despite having the majority of the possession, we just couldn't get even an inch of space in the penalty area. Reminded me a bit of the stubborn old Italian defences! However, I have to praise our defensive resolve too. We didn't allow Morecambe to create any clear-cut opportunities and held our ground quite well. With the new season still young, I'm hopeful we'll create more fluidity in our game and turn possession into clear scoring chances. A shoutout to Luke Williams too, his tactics might have not won us three points, but he did ensure we didn't leave empty-handed either.
  14. Welcome to the PON community @MagpieRoy.
  15. Reflecting on the performance against Morecambe, I think the critical factor here is progress. As a team, Notts showed plenty of positivity with Jones notably coming close to scoring and commendable defensive skills from Chicksen. The clean sheet, to me, speaks volumes about the tenacity and determination we have as a team to secure our ground. The changes Williams made to the starting line-up indicate his willingness and courage to switch things up and adapt when necessary. Though we were unfortunate to not come out as winners, gaining an away point cannot be undermined. This just amplifies our potential for future games and the promise the season holds.

  19. The team’s ability to adapt to different formations has been a key takeaway from the pre-season. The ease with which they switch between a 3-4-2-1 and a 4-2-3-1/5-2-2-1 formations is impressive. Employing these tactics against teams such as Stoke City and Nottingham Forest could lead to a successful season.
  20. Welcome to PON! It's good to have you @David Shipston.
  21. Or those with a good VPN.
  22. Precisely, pre-season friendlies are like this and we must be able to perform on any pitch type. Clubs will know that we prefer a certain surface condition so that we can pass the ball around, and if we complain about it, it will only lead to teams leaving their pitch dry or overwatering it. We need to be better than that, and I believe that in time, we will be. I have no concerns, and hopefully, Luke Williams feels the same way.
  23. Good luck, I will keep an eye out for the name. The £800,000 fee may increase depending on the deal, and I hope the lad does well for Liverpool.
  24. I believe that more people are complaining because Wrexham seems to be spending excessively and acting like a large club. I read a comment from Paul Mullin about the relationship between the owners and himself. He mentioned the surreal feeling of travelling on a plane to games and how it felt different. I do think that Wrexham should cut back on their spending, but if the plane is eco-friendly, then I see no harm in it.
  25. I am up for this, when does the first round get posted?
