After what I would say was a successful pre-season from the perspective of the young players, with two remaining friendlies, it shows that the club has faith in them to continue their careers. I am delighted with this news and wish each of them well. I hope they all make the most of their time being involved with our setup. Just because the likelihood of being a regular for Notts is slim, it does not mean they cannot move on when the time is right and drop down to work their way back up.

Luke's comments about Ruben Rodrigues really show the spirit the two of them had together. Even though Rodrigues isn't with us anymore, it's great to see the mutual respect and appreciation. It's the sort of sportsmanship that makes the game beautiful. I wholeheartedly believe that this friendly rivalry between clubs will benefit not just the teams, but also the entire city and fans, and will undoubtedly raise the bar for the upcoming seasons. Why would you accept investments from someone the EFL doesn’t know about, unless something shady was going on? The Barnsley board have brought this upon themselves. It sounds as if they have been very secretive, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they end up facing more charges.

This does seem like a sensible move by the lad. I would imagine he had bids but chose Gateshead due to the belief that he would be their number one. I hope he does well for them and links back up with some ex-Notts lads.
