Nemane signs at last
Fantastic news! And he was here for the start of pre-season too, the media team did a good job of keeping him out of all the photos and footage, panic over everyone! He was such a threat for us last season and whilst he's still a bigger threat going forward than back his defensive play has definitely improved. He's pace is crucial to the team, it's allows us to have an out-ball and in terms of defending it means he doesn't always have to worry about his positioning because he knows he can track back faster than his opponent more times than not. Him and Adebayo-Rowling gives us real strength in the RWB spot for the coming season now.

Notts County’s Permanent Signings: Who’s Your Favourite?
Yeah, very pleased with them all so far but for me there's something magical about seeing McGoldrick back in a Notts shirt. If he's as good as he was for Derby as he is for us he's going to be amazing to watch!

Williams is not too concerned regarding Nemane
Yes, great catch up interview and with regards to Nemane that makes me think that he's almost certain to sign now. We had no update on the other later signings like Cameron and O'Brien, so for Luke to publicly say it's very close must mean behind the scenes the club are very confident of it happening. If it looked like he was off I think they would've just avoided the conversation altogether and just announced his departure like we did with Ruben.

News on this seasons kits
Yeah we've had supply issues with Puma before so I'm also surprised we signed another deal with them. Must be good financially for us to re-sign for that long though, otherwise it's just bad business and so far that's not something you'd associate with the Reedtz regime. In terms of the actual design I'm slightly worried given Barnsley's reveal today; bad, bad and bad! Weird American celebration design and a rubbish fade that looks like the shirt was washed on the wrong temperature. So cheap looking and they're charging £50 for one!

Has Notts forgotten about Junior Morias?
I'm not sure he's been forgotten, more a case of the player who plays in his position has had the season of his life! There was no way Langstaff was getting dropped for our run in. I'm also pretty sure he had a knock when he joined and it was quite late in the season too so he didn't exactly have much time to make a big impact. We'll see more of him this season, unless Macaulay starts the season off in a way that suggests he's out to break his own goal-scoring record!

Fixture list announced
Yeah I'm not someone who's overly fussed about the fixtures, we're going to have to play everyone twice at some point! I'm not particularly fussed about the order but a home game would've been nice to start on. I guess on a personal note we've got a home game on my birthday weekend so that's a game I'll look forward to!

Carabao Cup 1st round fixture announced
The only reason I think some fans aren't that overly excited is because they're also in our EFL Trophy Group, so we'll be seeing them twice. I'm not too fussed either way just glad it's a home tie really!

Goalkeeper is latest signing
Yeah, he’s someone I don’t know much about so reading the views of some Port Vale fans who are not particularly fussed he’s left is slightly concerning. They didn’t think he was good enough for them in League 1 but I know to take those opinions with a pinch of salt. I remember Bradford fans saying Chicksen was awful and Scunny fans didn’t think much of Wootton! I’ll judge him after he’s played in goal for us, hopefully he’ll turn out to be a good signing. We've still got Slocombe and who knows, if Tiernan gets a loan to a National League side and does well maybe he'll turn out to be our future number 1!

Cal Roberts joins Scunthorpe United
Yeah really strange signing, in terms of being completely unexpected. After a season hampered by injuries, I'd have thought the coming season would have been the one where he'd have a right go at getting into Aberdeen's first team. That's why he moved there in the first place surely! Maybe he hadn't settled there, even so I can't see why he'd drop back to where he started after getting released by Newcastle. It just feels like he's taking a big step back, he was a top National League player, that's the lowest level he should be at.

Dan Crowley signs
Luke Williams trying to fit Austin, Scott, McGoldrick, Jones and now Crowley into the same team at the same time... Exciting signing that's for sure. He had a very good season for Birmingham (in the championship) and then got shafted by a new manager who didn’t want him by all accounts. He’s played a lot of first division football in Netherlands too and look how impressive Ruben was and he’d only played second tier! I think we’ve got a good’un here.

Kyle Cameron signs contract
Yep, agree with pretty much everyone else, delighted he accepted the contract renewal. You’ve made the right choice Kyle, here’s to another successful season of captaining us!
-
Jack Bearne
He only played for 90 minutes 9 times last season and didn’t feature in Kidderminster’s run in or play-off campaign. So hardly a key player for a NLN side, I’ve not watched him play but that suggests to me he's too far off the level we’d want. If we signed him we’d have to send him out on loan. Don’t know if financially that makes much sense. So right now the £150k looks like a good deal! That’s not to say he’s not capable of fulfilling his potential, took Colby Bishop a few seasons in non-league to get going but he was just one from hundreds we’ve released that have got back into the EFL. Who knows what will happen but right now I’d say taking him back would be a bit of risk.

David Raya Comments
I thought that too but the media have been reporting something similar between Mason Mount and Man Utd and no-one seems to care so obviously not! I don’t like when players try and force moves, don’t sign a contract with the club in the first place if you don’t want to be there. He also signed for Brentford when they were in the Championship, so he’s got a lot of thanks to give them. I get players wanting to move on but I totally agree all this talk just be kept private, let the clubs negotiate a deal and if it can’t be done get your head down and show them why they should’ve paid that bit extra for you. Seems easier to throw a strop though, but this just makes me think less of these players.

Ruben is leaving - official
I can’t really begrudge him of moving on, as much as I would have loved him to stay, he completely deserves it. I wouldn’t have predicted Oxford either, I actually thought he might have had a good offer and go somewhere overseas in Europe... Anyway fantastic player and I’m so pleased he finished his time with us on a promotion. Been a joy to watch him play and I’m sure he’ll be a great at Oxford. ???? ????

McGoldrick returns to #Notts!
I get why people were cautious about signing McGoldrick. Signings like David Vaughan probably linger in the memory, but he wasn’t offered a contract having just had one of his best seasons to date. Goals, assists and just general quality play, he cleaned up at Derby's end of season awards too. The reaction from pretty much all of Derby’s fans tells a story too, they’re gutted and only have good things to say about him. Honestly, I’m really looking forward to seeing McGoldrick in a Notts shirt next season.

Our Out of Contract Players: Stay or Go?
Rodrigues, O’Brien, Cameron and Nemane were offered their deals a few weeks ago and it’s all gone quiet. I suspect we’ll hear something in the coming week but what are your gut feelings about who is staying and who is going? I’m going to say 2 go and 2 stay. Ruben and Nemane moving on (and up). Cameron and O’Brien staying. What do you think?

The analysts bar.... #Notts defence is not as effective as it seems
It’s an interesting read but I’m not too worried, surely that is just a consequence of how we play? Our game is about being aggressive and dominant. We push all our players up and defend high which means the opposition have space to attack, usually on the counter when they are likely to be 3 on 3 (or even have an advantage if we’ve given the ball away). So when teams get opportunities they’re usually going to be quite good. Provided you are able to restrict the opposition’s time on the ball it works, like we’ve seen this season, how many times have we said the opposition didn’t get a sniff at goal, plenty. It’s also just one part of the story, so Boreham Wood have the best defence, both number wise and statistically but they only scored 52 goals from 46 games. Would you then no argue that their great defence is actually impacting their ability to score goals? I can’t imagine they score very high on the attacking side stats, but I'm sure we’ll be near the top of that one!

David McGoldrick
It’s interesting how split everyone seems to be about the potential signing of McGoldrick, especially when Derby fans are desperate for him to stay after scoring 20+ goals and winning their player of the season! It seems mad that some fans aren’t so keen, but it just goes to show how much they have taken to the Reedtz Brothers philosophy and approach to running the club. Looking at the bigger picture, they see no long-term benefit or have doubts he fits our system/style of play. I get it but personally, I’d take him. He’s technically excellent, if you can compete (and score) at the top end of L1 he should be excellent in league 2. We’ve also got Macca, Scott and Morias which means we don’t need to rely on him or play him game after game. And if Warne’s Derby team is anything like his Rotherham one, they like to play on the front foot and be aggressive too, just they don’t really play out from the back and are more direct @super_ram will know this better than me. But I think in terms of being able to cope with our style of play he should be fine.

New signing Will Randall
Lot’s of good things about him online, the only concern is that he may be a little bit injury prone but hopefully that’s something we can monitor and manage over the season to minimalise the risk. I don’t really remember him playing against us when he was at Sutton, maybe our defenders just go the better of him. Interesting that along with Jodi Jones that’s two inverted wingers we’ve signed, I’m sure Williams already has plans as to where he’ll play.

Rawlinson signs new contract
Very pleased and well deserved. He's a top professional, can imagine he's one of those keeping high standards for the younger players and next batch of new players. I'm with @CliftonMagpie I don't think Rawlinson is a slow as people make out. It doesn't help when you play either side of Baldwin and Nemane who are both pretty rapid too.

Latest rumours
I was chatting about this today funnily enough, I'm not too worried. I won't be surprised if one or two go but it's been mentioned before the recruitment team have plans in place if it does happen. I think our players getting linked with teams higher up the divisions is just something we’re going to have to get used to now. It’s inevitable when you have a recruitment system that signs great players! And as sad is it is to lose players like Wootton and Roberts (and hear about current players potentially going) it’s a better place to be in than how we used to operate, release 10 players at the end of a season only to sign another 10 players who would suffer the same fate a few years later…

Supporting other Nationalities in Football
Got a soft spot for Spain me. Was lucky enough to usually holiday there when I was young. And I was your classic case of a football mad kid on holiday annoying his dad to buy him a knock off Spain shirt with "Raul 7" on the back! Probably only cost him €10, but you would've thought I was wiping out the holiday budget with the resistance he put up. My parents probably had to peel that shirt of my body for it's first wash, I remember wearing it for days... Always like going back now, when I can. Weather, food and people are always great. Agree with @liampie too, I'll be tuning into England v Malta next month to cheer on our Jodi!

Ruben to Derby?
Well someone on Derby's forum says it's 90% done deal, which probably means in reality there's a 10% chance of it happening! Also someone on there wasn't too keen and called him "a stone overweight" ???? Don't go Ruben, they'll be no body shaming from any of us!
-
where are they now : Aaron Collins
A proper damning indictment of our recruitment over previous years was missing out on him. I always thought he’d do well and I remember being really miffed when went to Morecambe after being released from Wolves. At the time they were in the same league as us and no doubt had a much smaller budget so we absolutely could’ve and should've got him! He was raw, a bit hit and miss at times but you could see his technical abilities, particularly his dribbling, when he was on it. Another type of player who just looks so natural when on the ball. Fair play to him though cos he’s probably going to play in the Championship next season.

Jimmy Knowles released by Mansfield, joins Boston Utd
I liked him and got why we signed him on loan, yes at times he got a bit bullied but he was only 18/19. 10 goals from 27 games was decent for his first proper spell in men’s football, especially when you consider he came off the bench a lot of the time. I think had he been “one of our own” a lot of fans would’ve been less harsh on him.
