  1. Notts performed well for the most part, except for a lapse in defence that led to their goal. We need to improve our ability to close down teams and ensure that players get back, similar to how MK Dons defended. They always made sure to have bodies behind the ball, which is something we need to do more of. Nonetheless, the point is a good one.
  2. 'Faces of PON' truly captures the spirit of the game and the resilience of our club. We've been through many ups and downs, but Meadow Lane continues to be a place of joy and passion, a place where memories are made and captured by photographers like you, @Chris.
  3. Terrific match with an outstanding performance by Notts. McGoldrick's early strike undeniably bolstered the team's self-belief and set the tone for the match. A well-deserved win, could not have asked for more. Notable mention for Aaron Nemane, his swift and strategic moves kept Rovers' defence on their toes.
  4. I understand the mixed feelings about the upcoming match against Tranmere Rovers. It's true that they're expected to be a strong contender, but Notts County's recent progress and hard work can't be ignored. The changing perspective from nervousness to optimism is a testament to the team's growth and potential. Creating and capitalizing on chances will indeed be key, and with the right efforts, Notts could come out on top. The season's unpredictability adds to the excitement, making every match a chance for the team to prove themselves.
  5. I am just going to watch Notts this weekend. I do hope the weather is nice. If it rains, it will dampen the mood.
  6. It is quite concerning and baffling that Mike Dean would admit to such a thing. It is not right and shows a level of corruption. It is bad for the English game that a referee and official would cover something up to protect his friend. The abuse referees receive, at times, seems unfair to me, but they take on the job knowing full well that it will happen. It does not justify it, but it is hard to complain about it when one can choose any other line of work.
  7. Mighty Magpies, I do like that. I have always thought of us as “Super Notts”.
  8. Irish keeper, Tim Dalton,
  9. A home encounter against an under-form Tranmere Rovers, this could be the perfect opportunity for Notts County to build on recent momentum. With Tranmere's defensive concerns and their recent defeat, Magpies have a golden chance to press the advantage.
  10. Looking forward to the weekend! An away win would be a significant morale boost for our players and fans. Also, keep an eye on Jodi Jones, I have a feeling he's on the verge of lighting up this season.
  11. Lewis Alessandra also has played for both us and Morecambe.
  12. A real show of character from the team, proving they are not made of sugar, as Williams put it. The resilience showed on-field was second to none, and it was clear the team was ready for the battle. The ground literally reverberated with the support from the fans. A necessary word of caution - less drama, more control. Let's continue the winning streak, Notts!
  13. Jodi Jones also had a great game, he was a constant threat on the wing, causing all sorts of problems for the Grimsby defence. His deflected cross was a bit of luck, but his assist for Crowley's goal was pure quality.
  14. Once settled and the squad are all on the same level of fitness, performances won’t be so much of an issue. Luke Williams has strengthened the team nicely ahead of League Two. This season should be another joyful one. I’m hoping our firepower and midfield can control games.
  15. Sublime finish, neatly tucked away! The Alfreton manager’s comments made me laugh.
  16. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @George L. It's nice to have you on here.
  17. Rest in peace, Trevor Francis. My condolences go out to his friends and family.
  18. The vibrant tone of this article paints a vivid picture of @super_ram. From his early football memories, shared over his father's Littlewoods Football Pools coupon, to the enticing history lessons about Derby and its players from Uncle, this story is bursting with nostalgia. His loyalty to both Derby County and Notts County, evidenced by the regular banter he shared with work friend and subsequent respect for Notts' history, is a real testament to the beautiful game.
  19. There is absolutely no need for abusive behaviour. I am glad that the Forest friendly turned out to be a better experience for me. The people near me were very encouraging, which was good to see. There is no excuse for negative behaviour, and I don’t believe real fans would resort to that. Let’s hope that the fact that people are willing to call them out will deter them from doing it.
  20. I am saddened and a bit disappointed to see Charlie Slater leave his role with BBC Radio Nottingham. He did well covering Notts and one might have thought he would stay a little longer to see where Notts ended up. However, being a family man and eager to advance his career, I don’t blame him and I wish him well.
  21. Hello, welcome to PoN @Michael D P.
  22. Welcome to PoN @BeestonPie.
  23. Thanks to Williams for acknowledging the areas of improvement that the team has to work on. His honesty speaks volumes about his leadership as a manager. The balance between attack and defence is indeed a vital virtue every team should have and it's encouraging to see they're working towards achieving that. Looking forward to seeing their progress in the next few games.
  24. This pre-season friendly against Forest might have ended in defeat, but the lessons learned and the experience gained are immeasurable. There's no doubt about Williams' commitment towards developing the team. The back four formation definitely injected an organised and compact defence, and it shows our coach is flexible enough to switch formations for the benefit of the team. Yes, there were mistakes and some players need more conditioning before they're up to speed, but that's precisely what these friendly matches are for. These matches give us valuable insights into our strengths and weaknesses. Williams clear-sighted approach towards addressing these issues looks promising.
  25. Reading about Tobi's return made me realise how much he brings to the team. His statements about his connection with Aaron and the excitement of being back on the stadium show the level of dedication he has. And the great turnout of fans indicates just how much he’s missed. Here's to more victories with Tobi on field!
