  1. Happy 76th birthday, Neil Warnock! When you came to Notts County, you didn’t just manage the team, you brought the club and the fans together with your infectious energy and belief. Those promotion seasons are some of my best memories as a supporter, and it’s all down to you. Have an amazing day, you deserve it!
  2. Really interesting to see his take on the style of play here at Notts. Possession-based football is a great approach, and Jevani seems to recognise its benefits for a forward like himself. He’s experienced, so it’s not just talk, he knows what he needs to get back into rhythm. I think that approach, combined with his patience, shows that he’s thinking long-term, which is what we need for a serious promotion push.
  3. One thing I’ve particularly noticed about Stuart Maynard’s tenure is the sense of unity within the squad. The players seem more cohesive, and there's a noticeable uptick in morale. Each match feels like a fresh opportunity, and the boys are genuinely playing for each other. It's a stark contrast to the disarray from last season. Maynard's tactical flexibility, especially with our backline, has brought a real sense of assurance. I believe he's creating a solid blueprint that will serve us well in the long run. And it's not just about this season; Maynard seems focused on laying the groundwork for sustained success. It's been a pleasure seeing this transformation unfold, and there's hope for even more improvements.
  4. The goal might’ve been a scrappy one, but Platt’s determination to keep going after the first corner was great to see. He felt there was something there, and he was right! His partnership with the backline was really strong throughout the game, keeping Wimbledon from causing too much trouble. Even though it wasn’t the most exciting match, you could tell the team’s focus was on being disciplined and waiting for their moment. It’s also good to hear Platt wanting to add more goals to his game, if he can keep getting in those positions, he could be a real threat from set pieces all season. Great win!
  5. His interview really shows Abbott’s character. He’s come in on loan and could’ve easily just played his role, but he’s throwing himself into every challenge. His comments about playing wide right and delivering that assist are spot on. A lot of younger players struggle to adapt to different positions, yet he’s up for it. It says a lot about his attitude, which is great to see. Not to mention, he understands the club’s rivalry with Chesterfield, which makes him feel more connected to us fans.
  6. Kellan Gordon gets my vote. He's someone who contributes both offensively and defensively, adapting to the flow of the game effortlessly. His crosses were precise, yearning for someone on the receiving end to tap them in. The fact that Port Vale players marked him heavily speaks to his threat level on the pitch.
  7. Really impressed with the way Maynard is handling the squad’s fitness and tactical flexibility. Injuries to McGoldrick and Grant could’ve been major setbacks, but it sounds like we’re managing them carefully. Jodi’s absence is obviously being felt, but the fact that Maynard sees his eventual return as like ‘a new signing’ shows he’s thinking positively. Bass has been outstanding, both in terms of shot-stopping and his distribution, which gives us more options in how we play. I like that we’re not just sticking to one style and are adapting depending on the opposition. With the depth we’ve added, we should be in a strong position as the season goes on.
  8. I find it quite wonderful to see how players like Kellan Gordon thrive when they’re back in familiar surroundings. Family being nearby seems like a grounding force, providing a solid support system. This comfort translates into a clear focus on his football, and that’s beneficial to both him and Notts County. His enthusiasm and drive reflect through his gameplay, not just aiming for personal achievement but contributing positively to the team’s ethos. With his previous promotion with Crawley Town, Gordon already knows what it takes to succeed, yet he seems genuinely committed to pushing Notts forward. His honest words in the interview build a deep connection with fans, adding an extra layer of respect for his journey.
  9. Well done to Alex Bass! He was superb yesterday. He has been very good all season so far.
  10. Alex Bass has to be Man of the Match. His shot-stopping and decision-making were spot on, especially during the second half when Carlisle pushed harder. That save late in the game was massive, ensuring we kept the clean sheet. But it’s not just about the saves – it’s the way he commands his area. You can see the defenders trust him, and that’s crucial when you’re under pressure. His ability to handle crosses and make the right decisions in the box was a key part of why we looked so solid at the back.
  11. I hope the fans who are going wrap up warm and manage to see the lads put on a performance worthy of our loyal away support. It’s going to take all our players working hard to put on a good show. We can’t rely on one or two players to carry the others; they have to work together, and then the result should come. Carlisle will want the points just as much as we do, so that will be interesting.
  12. I thought several players did well, but my Man of the Match would be David McGoldrick. I thought the Morecambe voters made a sensible decision with their player. Had it been Notts, I don’t think we would agree that the sponsors chose rightly.
  13. Jacob Bedeau has been very solid throughout September. He gets my vote for this.
  14. It was certainly a frustrating draw, especially given our dominance in possession. The most disappointing aspect was our failure to take advantage of Morecambe being reduced to 10 men. While the team showed great character to come back and equalise, it still feels like a missed opportunity. McGoldrick put in a tireless effort, but he lacked the necessary support. Additionally, the high number of fouls was concerning and significantly disrupted our play. Moving forward, we need to be more clinical in front of goal and reduce unnecessary fouls. Despite the frustrations, it’s still a point on the road, and we must build on this as we head into the next matches.
  15. A frustrating draw indeed, especially with how we dominated possession. What's more disappointing is our inability to capitalise on Morecambe being down to 10 men. The team showed character to come back and equalise, but it feels like a missed opportunity. McGoldrick worked tirelessly, but he simply didn't have the support he needed. The foul count was also alarming and disrupted our play considerably. Moving forward, we need to be more clinical in front of goal and cut down on unnecessary fouls. Still, it's a point on the road and we have to build on this going into the next matches.
