Barnsley charged by EFL
The situation with Barnsley needs to be addressed and resolved. If clubs are expected to follow the rules, why should they be allowed to accept money from sources unknown to the Football League? It raises suspicions of something untoward happening.

Southend Utd survive High Court hearing
I hope Southend and their fans can weather this storm. It would be a shame to see another club go the way of Bury.

New kit revealed at last
I prefer the away shirt. It’s nice, but I wouldn’t spend over £100 on two football shirts. If they were still priced at around £40 each, I would buy them without hesitation. Pete did say that the club stuck to the same amount despite believing they would sell more, they just didn't order more because of the extra stock that they felt wouldn't move as quickly. If the club gets in additional stock, it will probably be far less than when first ordered.

Dele Alli Exclusive
Football has lagged behind in addressing mental health issues, despite their prevalence among players, often forcing them to retire early. I wish Dele Alli all the best. Some may dismiss this as an excuse, but such attitudes perpetuate the stigma and discourage players from seeking help.

This poor man is an emotional wreck because of Notts fans
What time did Chesterfield leave? I can’t see many Notts fans leaving to miss the celebrations and go taunt them. I also think that after the celebrations had finished and the fans had started to exit Wembley, Chesterfield should have long been gone. What would have kept them there?

Twitter threatens legal action over Threads app
I don’t think suing them will stop Treads. It might make them compete harder and force better changes out of them. Elon Musk isn’t a very well-liked man at the moment.

Matchday programmes
I think a 30-page programme is more than enough, but even an 8-page one will still have ads inside, I bet. I would pay more just to not have so many ads. That’s one of my only gripes, along with the paper quality.

Luke Williams : Notts v Stoke City
I do think Luke Williams should have started with what he felt would be his starting line-up. The youngsters could have come on, and it would have given more structure at the back. Notts didn’t play well until we made the changes. I am not one to complain, but I think all these complaints could be handled better. I feel sorry for the young players who are being criticised. They were thrown into the deep end against a very good team. Williams is right that we need to improve defensively. We can’t afford to get away with things, and knowing he can now take action is reassuring. He seems upset, even though he speaks calmly. Fair play to him for saying he has to do better, but losing to Stoke City isn’t a major concern.

Archie Mair joins Gateshead
It would be selfish to want Archie Mair at Notts, as he could eventually become the number one goalkeeper, but he has expressed a desire to play week in and week out, which he wouldn’t get here. I think Gateshead have signed a solid addition to their team and I wish both him and the club well.

Where are they now? Shaun Derry
Sacked by Patrick Vieira and brought back by Roy Hodgson, Derry never deserved to be sacked in the first place.

A Plea for Support from an Elderly Notts Fan
Absolutely, there’s no reason for it. I think some of the Derek Pavis fans just like to complain because it’s the only thing that gets their voice heard. I would rather encourage and support than see youngsters and a team that fought for our promotion get abused for losing a friendly to a Championship team.

Drinks at Meadow Lane
I wish the club would work more closely with local breweries. I know they have worked with Magpie Brewery, but there are many others and it could help reduce costs while giving more profit and extra options to fans. We change suppliers every 5 years. Carling isn’t new to us; we’ve had them before and fans wanted to get rid of them when they started supplying slower stock.

Tech Talk
@Fan of Big Tone Do you think the laptop would be usable with an SSD installed, rather than a mechanical hard drive? It would be a shame to destroy something that might be able to be repurposed. Once the HDD is removed, there’s no trace of you.

Forest Green Rovers, Ferguson out, 6 mths into a 5 year contract
You couldn’t make this up. Something has happened, and it reflects poorly on the club. They will struggle if they don’t replace Ferguson.

Weekend Plans 7th-9th July
Tomorrow, I will be sorting my garden if I can get it done before the storms. Today, I went to Notts and picked up a new shirt. I watched Stoke City play some very good football and then had fish and chips on the way home.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Potters (H)
It was a good exercise in that we created many of the problems ourselves. Yes, Stoke City played some great football, as you would expect from a Championship side, but defensively, without Aden Baldwin, we have no one with the focus to deal with quicker, more direct teams. Richard Brindley would be fine against League Two standard teams, but he does make rash decisions and commits himself when he shouldn’t. Kyle Cameron didn’t look good going forward; he gave the ball away very easily, and although he did some good covering and defensive work, he let the first half down quite a lot. It’s nothing to complain about, but it does show room for improvement. I don’t think Notts embarrassed themselves, but the second half’s team was much better.

The Super Ram Appreciation Discussion
@super_ram Just accept that it means a lot to both of them, it’s an honourable gesture and you can see how much it means. I would nod and tip my hat if I were wearing one.

Nice gesture by Stoke FC
This is a very nice gesture by Stoke, to donate their half of the gate receipts to pay tribute to Jason Turner.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Potters (H)
I would agree, but I think Luke Williams may have other plans. It would be nice to have an idea of what the starting 11 might be, but he may not know himself at this stage. It should be a good match, I wonder if the club has plans to stream it? It would be great for those overseas and unable to attend.
