  1. Welcome to PON @Bigrossco1862, I hope you find the site to be as fun as I do.
  2. Jack Grealish seemed destined to eventually sign for one of the best teams in England, if not the world. It is pleasing to see that he has won the Premier League and Champions League. A player of his calibre should achieve such feats.
  3. Dion Kelly-Evans, on the other hand, needs to learn to persevere. It wouldn't be surprising if he was hoping to make a return here, but I wouldn't want that. He's a nice lad, but he's not prepared to be a squad player. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but he will only end up wanting to leave when it suits him.
  4. Good signing. Players often speak with emotion to help their transition across, but I believe every word David McGoldrick says. He’s here to help us progress and I think it’s a great thing.
  5. My goodness, what will they come up with next? Could you imagine seeing a wheelie bin move as if it were walking, due to being unable to see the tracks? It would be quite a sight, wouldn’t it? How do they do it?
  6. I’m fine with the signing, I do agree there’s a risk but it’s one I now feel is worth taking. He has more than experience to offer, dropping a division should see him get the two years Notts has offered him. Could you imagine how he would terrorise the defenders in this league?
  7. I think the ban is right and fair, the club needs to do better to stop people entering the pitch.
  8. I had a nice day in Bromley on today. I had breakfast at The Lavender House, then went to the Churchill Theatre to see a play. I liked the actors and the story. I had lunch at Tamasha, a good Indian place. Then I walked in the park and saw some ducks. I had a beer at The Partridge and met some friendly people.
  9. Welcome @Sirrels County, it's wonderful to have you with us.
  10. Fantastic signing, I just hope we don’t lose Rodriguez, he’s one of the best players I’ve seen in a Notts shirt in recent years.
  11. I was surprised to see him find a new job so quickly. After his last spell in charge, I thought he might want some downtime to reflect and recharge.
  12. This is terrible news for Scottish football. I sincerely hope that they manage to resolve the situation because the club doesn’t deserve to fold or go bankrupt. Unfortunately, there isn’t much money in Scottish football unless you’re in the top league.
  13. I’m planning to attend all the pre-season games. I’m particularly interested in seeing how the new signings perform and whether any of the young players get a chance to play. Fingers crossed, I’ll be at the Shrewsbury game. By the way, @shrewswill, I remember you!
  14. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. @calw_111!
  15. Hello, welcome to the pride of Nottingham. @MagpieLane
  16. Nice set of pre-season fixtures; it should be a good run for the lads. I am happy that Nottingham Forest has agreed to come back so soon, as this will be a real test for players provided they field a good squad.
  17. Costa is nicer than Starbucks but both are just as bad as those chemically made energy drinks. I prefer coffee made at home, especially if it’s freshly ground with a bit of cream or milk.
  18. Joel Senior? Let the rumour spreading commence. I do hope for genuine news from the club soon, some of these rumours are doing my head in.
  19. Di’Shon Bernard has had some injury concerns but I do think Portsmouth will try to pick him up, he would be a big signing if he was on the Notts radar, otherwise Tom James and Tom Bradbury could do the trick. Decent suggestions, @Chris. Nice write-up!
  20. It’s always a positive sign when a young goalkeeper gets called up by an international team. I think Tiernan Brooks made a smart decision by choosing Ireland over England. Hopefully, he can prove himself as a reliable and talented number one and earn a place in the senior squad in the future. I would love to see him do that with Notts, but realistically he will probably move on to a bigger club.
  21. Hello, @Stuart jackson. Welcome to the PON forum and site. I hope to see you join in.
  22. Randall is a fantastic addition to the squad. He has pace, skill, vision and work rate. He can create and score goals from anywhere on the pitch. He’s exactly what we need to challenge for promotion next season.
  23. At this level, we are fortunate to have someone as well-rounded as Sam Slocombe in the goalkeeper department. He may not be perfect, but he is a reliable shot-stopper with safe hands. If we compare him to other keepers in League Two or the National League, we can see that any of them are capable of making mistakes.
  24. Nottingham Forest provides a strong pre-season game. It’s also beneficial to have a large number of fans coming through the gates, as this will generate revenue that can be used to improve areas of the team down the line.
  25. I’m not at all disappointed about playing Alfreton. I think it’s a valuable experience for the team. Their ground isn’t bad for a non-league team. Hopefully, playing there will help our players appreciate where they have come from and inspire them to strive for greater heights.
