  1. Yes, but now that I see a rough estimate of the cost, I think it’s unlikely without a lot of investment from clubs and the EFL. Maybe we could start a fundraiser across football? Shave the brave! Bring Goal Line Technology to the English Football League.
  2. When you see people, Jatta is one who looks like a professional athlete and possibly a footballer. I hope he proves his worth here because we need more goals. When you look at our score, there aren’t enough goals. We should have a fair number over or at 5 goals. Many simply haven’t scored or are stuck at one. It would be great to see him bring his scoring boots.
  3. Blackburn Rovers 0-0 Norwich City Cardiff City 1-2 Stoke City Barnsley 0-1 Derby County Joker Blackpool 2-0 Bolton Wanderers Accrington Stanley 0-0 Crawley Town Barrow 0-2 Bradford City Dagenham & Redbridge 3-1 Halifax Town Southend United 2-0 Aldershot
  4. His journey at Notts shows his resilience and adaptability. Coming from a challenging situation at Fleetwood Town, his transition into a crucial midfield role amidst managerial upheavals speaks volumes about his character and determination. His optimism and commitment to the team's approach, despite its challenges, could inspire any teammate or fan. It’s players like Scott Robertson who embody the spirit of the game, proving that with dedication and consistency, any obstacle can be turned into a stepping stone for success.
  5. It’s easy to underestimate the significant role online forums play in our lives and the impact of contributors who make it a place we enjoy visiting. I was deeply saddened when I heard about GP, as she seemed to be a delightful woman with a great sense of humour. My thoughts are with the PON family, not only the immediate members but everyone who has lost someone truly special.
  6. The article presents a balanced view on loan players, but I lean towards seeing more homegrown talents on the pitch. The success stories of loan players are tempting, but nothing beats seeing a young player from our academy breaking into the first team and staying there. It's about building a legacy and identity for Notts County, something that constantly rotating loan players can't provide. We need a long-term vision.
  7. Maynard's emphasis on the defensive aspect of the game and the squad's quick adaptation to tactical instructions is particularly encouraging. It shows a level of depth in the team's playstyle that could be vital in the league's long run. The confidence he expresses in handling pressure and focusing on positives is exactly what the fans and players need to hear. Looking ahead, the match against Crewe presents a significant challenge, but Maynard's tactical acknowledgment and optimism are infectious. Really looking forward to seeing how the team translates this preparation into performance on the pitch.
  8. It’s disheartening to see some Notts fans taking offence when asked to show respect. There’s a hint of selfishness in this behaviour, which I find unpleasant. I have no issue with people standing, as long as they don’t obstruct my view of the match. While it doesn’t often happen to me, fans should be considerate of others. The fact that the police need to issue a statement to remind people to think of other fans speaks volumes. So much for unity.
  9. The match against Wrexham was commendable, particularly considering it was an away game. I’m hopeful that we’ll display the same level of urgency in our upcoming matches, but with a sharper focus on goal-scoring. We need to create solid opportunities and put the Crewe goalkeeper under pressure to prevent us from scoring. On the defensive front, I believe we’ve made significant strides towards improving our concentration. I anticipate the game against Crewe to be fairly balanced.
  10. Notts must put in the effort and utilise their possession effectively. I don’t want us to depend solely on wide creativity. I’d like to see Notts exploit the space and perhaps take a few shots at goal when the chance arises. At times, players have ample space to attempt a goal, but choose to keep passing. We need to show more courage against Newport. Now is the time to secure a win, even if it means playing less attractively or not as well.
  11. I’m sceptical about the gossip being accurate. Supporters often spread fear when the performance isn’t up to par, and sometimes they can overstate things to suit their story.

I believe the next two games are crucial. We emphasised the importance of the five leading into Mansfield, but we've only gained 1 point out of a possible 9. Wrexham won't be easy, and while we could win against Crewe, that might only be 4 points. We need more than that, and it might be worthwhile for the club to acknowledge the situation. Taking some pressure off Stuart Maynard and accepting that reaching the playoffs might not happen at this stage could be beneficial. It's possible, but if that's the target, the pressure might create a hole that continues to affect Notts negatively.
  13. @Nay123 I understand your point, but Gillingham isn’t Mansfield. Mansfield would be much more motivated for the match due to the rivalry between our clubs. Mansfield have been commendable for most of the season and have managed their setbacks well, Gillingham is a completely different case.
  14. I’m unsure what to pen down, I believe the alterations are being introduced at a stage where it seems illogical to implement them. It appears to be something that would extend the reach and make it more challenging for the smaller clubs to prosper. I’m not in favour of the changes, if anything, they should be more stringent.
  15. Fantastic footage of a past era of Notts, splendid clips.
  16. Aurora Jellie is breathtaking! It’s an amazing photo that would make a vibrant desktop background.
  17. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Wheelbarrow repair man.
  18. It’s an opportune moment to face Gillingham, they’re not performing as well as they might. They’ve invested significantly in their team but are falling behind in the playoff race. Two 1-1 draws with Walsall and Forest Green and a 2-1 loss to MK Dons. This indicates to me that they’re having trouble creating scoring opportunities but have a solid defence that keeps them competitive. It gives me more hope that Notts can secure a victory, we need to strive for that regardless, as I say we’re in need of a positive result and there’s no better time to play them.
  19. Hello, welcome to the site @Mapperley Pie. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, how long have you be a supporter of the Pies?
  20. Hello, welcome to the site @Sophie d. You should find PON to be a very informative and engaging site.
  21. It begins to bother me when some supporters simply can’t appreciate the progress. This is our initial season back in the Football League, and some behave as if we’ve been here for the last five seasons with the largest budget in the league. It’s not something I wish to dwell on, which is why I value the website. When you chat with unfamiliar fans on match days, hardly anyone says anything even slightly negative. Why is it more prevalent online?
  22. Considering his age and where he’s come from on loan, it seems to me that he’s more of a backup than a starter. I’d prefer to give Scott Robertson more time to adjust, with Charlie Colkett stepping in when necessary. This could help him settle in, but if he’s really injury-prone, it would be worrying to use him as a substitute, especially if we’ve used up all our options. It’s not the most exciting signing, but he deserves a fair chance.
  23. The way Maynard guided Wealdstone to their highest position in years proves he's a man who can inspire and achieve. With our history and his ethos, this feels like a new chapter for the Magpies. His long-term contract is a bold statement and, frankly, it’s refreshing to see the club backing a coach with such confidence. Here's to success under Stuart's command.
  24. I believe it was definitely a red card. The Barrow player seemed intent on stopping Jodi Jones and did so in a very risky manner. Their fans who think it was a fair tackle wouldn’t feel the same if roles were reversed. Even if it was against Notts, I’d still say it was a red because it was a ridiculous attempt at defence.
  25. The match began promisingly, but Barrow seemed to have the upper hand. Their missed open goal was a shocker - I reckon my moustache could’ve scored that! Thankfully, Stone did his utmost and the defence stepped up to protect him. It felt like a typical Luke Williams game, but Stuart Maynard deserves credit for his changes that shifted the game’s balance. This put Notts on the offensive, but we needed a touch of magic to score. I think we missed Matt Palmer’s efforts to mix things up by working with Dan Crowley to play through a central position. I’m not yet sold on Scott Robertson - it’s early days, but he lost the ball in areas where we couldn’t afford it. This also happened to John Bostock, leading to their opening goal. At times, Notts’ play left us wondering what on earth we were trying to do. It was a decent effort, not the best performance, but far from the worst. The players had the opportunity to kick off Maynard’s reign on a high note but fell well short of our expected standard of play.
