Luke is staying?
Oxford have appointed Des Buckingham now so that's that. As for the press conference, I noticed he emphasised that he hadn't been contacted and stopped short of an unequivocal "I'm staying here". The impression I got is that he ignores speculation and would only think about the pros and cons of a potential move if an actual approach is made. Donning my black and white glasses, I'd prefer an explicit pledge of loyalty. But being realistic, a manager (or head coach) is only ever a bad run away from the sack and has a career to think about.

Safe standing at Meadow Lane?
I totally agree @TheSkipper, standing is perfectly safe if it's managed correctly. I've been in a safe standing section in an ice hockey stadium, the seats flip back so they're flat and there are rails between each row. Personalty I prefer more traditional terracing, but it's better than nothing and it would be great to have some choice. The bottom part of the Kop would be perfect if it's not too steep.

Safe standing at Meadow Lane?
A few of you might have received a survey from the club about a possible new standing area. As I'm only a very rare visitor these days I'm not sure it's my place to take part, but what do you all think? Personally I much prefer to stand, and I think the lower Kop would be perfect.

Luke Williams : Oxford Utd interest?
Clickbait. Apparently the local media has stated that interviews will be held next week, so I don't think it's credible. And once one of these stories has been put out, other sites will copy it as they don't want to be seen to miss out. But the louder these stories get, the more I'd like to hear from LW to put everyone's minds at rest.

Prediction league 23/24 FA CUP SPECIAL - Saturday 4 November
Did they stop when the site went down @Dan or more recently than that? Maybe it'd help if you unfollow and follow the forum again? There are people here who remember Tony Hateley playing football, so being old is no excuse

Luke Williams : Oxford Utd interest?
Oh dear, as a player Rodders doesn't get to choose who the next manager will be and sometimes needs to keep his opinions to himself. He will have to get on with the next manager, who will probably not be LW.

Luke Williams : Crewe v Notts
I think he handled it brilliantly - his response to the penalty is so different to many others. He clearly thinks there's no point getting angry about things you can't influence, and that's a healthy attitude to have.

Brainbug- Nightmare
We do have "County's the Team for Me" by Jimmy Willan, which is very naff but we have played it in the past. It depends what you want to do - do you want to build the atmosphere or lead with a traditional song? Here in Germany, Waldhof Mannheim do both. They play "Rofo's Theme" while the teams are being read out, and when the players are just entering the pitch they switch to the club song (which their fans now sing along to).

Penalty? : Crewe v Notts
I must have seen it ten times and I still can't see a clear handball. It could quite easily have come off his chest. I wouldn't be apoplectic because it wasn't handball. But what's done is done. Instead of one point, we get none. No goals, no prizes.

Weekend Plans - 10th -12th November
Probably not a lot. Today it's a glass of whisky and the Voice of Germany to celebrate the weekend, but I'll probably be staying in ahead of my trip to the UK next week. I'll need the peace and quiet!

Notts Fans Forum
I can't go, but in the light of our fantastic crowds recently I'd be interested to know whether plans are afoot to bring up the capacity again, or at least open a section of the Sirrel stand to Notts fans for big games. Secondly: can I play? I used to play in a vaguely defensive role, am very slow and can't head the ball. LW can send me a direct message if he's interested. I heard those things are awful loud?

Caramac production ends as Nestle closes Newcastle factory
That's a childhood memory - I went through phases of loving those. Memory is the key word though, haven't had one in yonks. I wonder if Nestle will suddenly reverse their decision so they can benefit from all the free publicity?

Prediction league 23/24 round 17 - Saturday 11 November
After that strange "cup" competition last week, I'm pleased to report that the Proper Leagues (and the National League too) are back in action. So it's the same routine: gaze into your crystal ball and predict the following scores by 3pm on Saturday. Remember your joker and good luck! Coventry City v Stoke City Southampton v West Bromwich Albion Derby County v Barnsley Wycombe Wanderers v Stevenage AFC Wimbledon v Doncaster Rovers Tranmere Rovers v Forest Green Rovers AFC Fylde v York City Altrincham v Southend United

Luke Williams : Oxford Utd interest?
It would make sense for them - but whether Luke Williams would be interested is a very different matter. It's not worth losing our minds over this kind of talk IMO, it's just an opinion piece and nothing more.

Match report : Lincoln City v Notts

Football Radar Ltd
I'm not sure about the catering company @OoooooTommy, but I think Pavis owned the Family Stand and charged rent for it right up until we exited administration. I've no idea whether the club is being charged for the services of Football Radar, but if it is it won't be anywhere near the 1.5 million plus they've been putting into the club annually to cover the financial black hole. FR will have far bigger customers than Notts. I think they've been putting money into the club in the form of loans because there's a tax advantage somewhere? Not quite sure how though. Our previous two owners did the same and it seems pretty common in football now.

Crawley attendance
I think that's fair enough @Chris, especially when you've got to prioritise. On top of that, drawing a team from the same division that'll you'll play in a few weeks anyway is a bit meh in my opinion. At least non-League teams can have a bit of curiosity value. Going off on a slight tangent here, but the FA Trophy is a cracking competition for all but the half dozen teams looking to win promotion to the League. It was just never meant for us. It's definitely much better than the stupid Pizza Trophy in which you're forced to play your first team in three pointless group games.

Raddy Avramovic...pronouciation...
I suppose there were fewer foreign names for commentators to deal with then. Having said that, I think he just misspoke and the chaos then unfolded. Good save though!
