Frank Vincent joins The Daggers
That's a good signing for them. Hope he gets the regular football he needs and can push on from here.

News on this seasons kits
Bit disappointing that they're arriving late, again. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait. It's strange that we're being affected by delays, while Barnsley's Puma-made monstrosity is already available to buy now (if you're high enough). It's a corker @menzinho. To play the devil's advocate, it's a revival of an old design with stars from the eighties. But some things are better not revived! We had an eighties revival kit just last season, so I'm expecting something new, and with proper stripes this time. I wish we wouldn't do a plain white back, but it is what it is. As long as we avoid white shorts we'll be fine.

Fads that left us scratching our heads
Monster in my pocket. They were little plastic monsters that you put in your pocket. That's it, that's all there was to them. Or trolls. Basically the same, but bigger and with hair.

Retro Notts Shirts
I've got to admit I was interested in the green Wrangler shirt, but they were sold out when I looked. The font for the Home Bitter shirt is wrong, which would bug me a bit, but they are an alternative to the new shirts, which tend to be ugly or sold out. I own two retro shirts. One of them is a Toffs home shirt from the 50s (the badge has completely washed off unfortunately). The other is for my German team from the early 80s, it's an Adidas design similar to our classic shirt of the same period, minus the three stripes and Adidas branding. It's very rough and ready and the colour is too vivid, but I like it anyway. It's also the only shirt I own in XXL. The quality of the clothes in the club shop in general leaves a lot to be desired, to be honest.

Home shirt sponsors revealed
The comedy club sponsor was very apt, especially THAT season.

Home shirt sponsors revealed
Hmm, red. But at least it isn't as ugly as last season's. Going by that picture, it looks like we're having a plain white back as well.

Horror Films: from classic to modern
I like them, but I have to watch them on my own! I prefer psychological horror to the "man with hammer/chainsaw/knife runs after screaming woman" type. The Shining, The Exorcist, Psycho... I really enjoyed Jeepers Creepers right up to the end, which I found really anticlimactic. If you like ghost stories, you could do a lot worse than look up Uncanny on BBC Sounds. Some of those really hit home.

Strangest news story
A woman banged her head. And there's a crazy golf course nearby, which takes up the bulk of the story despite being irrelevant. I'm guessing they had a minimum word count to stick to!

Goalkeeper is latest signing
Not sure what people were expecting for what's not a guaranteed starting spot. The Vale fans I've read online acknowledge that he was a key player when they were promoted, not least for his performance in the playoff final. And let's not forget he's only 23, which is really young for a goalkeeper. Yet he's already got lots of first team experience as part of a team that won promotion out of L2, and in the division above. Now he'll have to push on, but there's plenty of potential to grow and improve.

Neal Ardley leaves Solihull Moors
Given the timing of it and the club's "disappointment", it seems that it was Neal's decision. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up next, hopefully not Crawley as that could be a tough gig next season.

Fixture list announced
We're away on the first and last day, and if there aren't any postponements our 5,000th League game will be away at Gillingham. FGR away on the final day is not ideal if there's something at stake. Donny on Boxing Day might be tasty. Might get myself down for the Bradford game! https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/matches/fixtures/

Notts County’s Next Signings: What Position Should They Be?
I'm on the fence about a new goalkeeper as well, but Slocombe seems to be expecting competition. Definitely another CB with a bit more height. As for the wing backs, Randall tends to play on the left, so he'll probably be the more attacking alternative to Chicksen. On the right we've got Jones and Adebayo-Rowling, but I don't know what shape he'll be in after his injury. Jones could also play in the Rodders spot. In theory we're covered, but I'd be happier with an extra one, maybe a young loanee?

Has Notts forgotten about Junior Morias?
Good point there. We play with one up front, so he's already competing with Langstaff, McGoldrick and Scott for that. And we've got Crowley and Austin for the Rodders position, and all three of the other strikers can play there too, so his chances don't look good. I don't think the club actually planned to sign another striker before McGoldrick came available, but now it's left Morias looking a bit too far from the first eleven, at least in theory. The proof of the pudding is in the eating though. I was sceptical when we signed Stallard as we'd already signed a bunch of strikers, and I had no idea when he'd actually play. But he forced his way into the picture and was a massive success.

Belated promotion celebrations “not feasible”
The whole saga is really poor, our promotion was hardly a surprise. Grimsby had an open top bus tour when they won the playoffs last season. Even the Stags paraded through the empty streets of Mansfield in a Stagecoach bus. But for our historic, unique and record-breaking season? Nothing. Quite right too, it isn't the club's job to cover the council's backside. How would it have worked anyway? Some of our promotion winners have moved on, and we've made new signings who weren't involved last season. What do they do, stay at home? If we go up again I'm expecting a full-on fireworks display.

Charlie Slater interviews David McGoldrick
Lovely interview. There was talk of him wanting to finish his career at Notts when this move was still in the rumour mill, but I just about dismissed it as wishful thinking from fans. It's brilliant that it happened. Just had a thought. If we play his previous club, would it be the County derby?

Dan Crowley signs
This is great stuff, I really liked him when he was Lincoln manager. Maybe a tad old at 44 though ????

TV horror/sci-fi series 'From'
Black Mirror. Haven't seen From yet, but it sounds interesting.

Cal Roberts joins Scunthorpe United
Maybe they bought him to balance out the Fitzsimons effect? ????

Maddison pays tribute to Jodi Jones
This is a lovely moment, thanks for sharing! In the newspaper article I read, I think he says that James Maddison was his best friend at Coventry when they were young players. But this is nice all the same!

TV horror/sci-fi series 'From'
When I saw the title, I thought it would be about Black Mirror. If you haven't seen it yet, you should. Right now.

Cal Roberts joins Scunthorpe United
That's quite bizarre. Either they're chucking a wheelbarrow full of cash at him, or he's selling himself woefully short. He should be at a League club. He didn't play a lot at Aberdeen, but he did spend most of the season injured.

Kyle Cameron signs contract
Delighted about this! I can kind of understand the rumours. It did take a long time, and he also joined Notts from a team in the same division so it wasn't inconceivable. And of course other clubs are going to be interested. But us fans don't know the whole story - it may have been a done deal in principle the whole time. I'm also relieved as I was more nervous about losing Cameron than Rodders. He'd have been harder to replace as he's instrumental to the way we play. Just hope the club have insisted on a no-mullet clause this time...
