The cup match was quite the rollercoaster, but our defending needs serious improvement. Conceding four goals, especially with two coming from second balls, reveals how unsteady we are at the back. Abbott’s wonder goal was spectacular, and Scott’s sharp finish gave us early hope, but it's disheartening to see us lose leads like this. The team shows plenty of fight, but determination alone won't secure our safety.

Notts should be mostly unchanged, with Alex Bass in goal and the three centre backs being the usuals. I think Conor Grant will start, along with Dan Crowley and Matt Palmer. The question is who will lead the attack? Will we play both Jatta and David McGoldrick, or will we start one and play another attacking midfielder? I am hoping it’s not a nerve-wracking game, as I am used to things being a lot easier to cope with.

They have had a very poor start. Once January comes, I would guess that they will try to strengthen further. Depending on where they are, they will be very determined to avoid losing their league status.

Who knows? It doesn’t seem likely to be beaten any time soon. We could be in the Premier League and it would be difficult to beat that amount of goals, so I don’t think it gets any easier further up.

Awful news. He’s been such a good player in recent games, but it’s better he gets treated. It’s a strange outcome as he did look fine and completed the game, but I am sure Curtis Edwards will be missed.

Yes, it would be nice after the past seasons of not being able to generate a good cup run to finally have one again. Notts would benefit from it, so it’s positive more than negative. The only concern is potential injuries, but it means more minutes for players which could be good.

I’m thrilled with how Crowley’s been performing! His contribution of goals and assists is pivotal for our unbeaten run. His level-headedness, despite being top of the table, shows great leadership and maturity. Crowley’s comments about the team’s chilled and focused nature are reassuring, especially as we head into key matches like the one against Gillingham. The mention of new players seamlessly fitting into the squad highlights the excellent work by the coaching staff too. Keeping rumours at bay and focusing on Notts is exactly what we need. Crowley's love for the club and his desire to stay and fight for glory make him a true asset.

It was a strong performance and very pleasing to watch. It makes a change that Notts gets the rub of the green. I think the second goal could be considered lucky not to have been disallowed, but those are distractions from how Notts played and excuses for why Grimsby were so poor. I don’t want to get carried away, but a few more performances like this and we might have more optimism that we could challenge for promotion. I think the early signs are good.

Sven is a very brave man who should be remembered for his contributions and kindness. As for us Notts fans, we will be forever in his debt for all he did.
