  1. It wasn't our day, but a sense of reality can go along way towards making you stronger. Look at Sutton, hopefully this will repeat what happened after.
  2. theMagpies replied to Benji's topic in Introductions
Hello, welcome to PON. @Benji have fun.
  3. Hello, welcome to PON. @Niederbayern Pie have fun.
  4. Jake Kean hasn't been mentioned yet, he played for them too.
  5. If Connell Rawlinson is permitted to voice his thoughts, then no one should be denied the same right. He shared his viewpoint without resorting to abuse or inappropriate behaviour. His comments, while perhaps ill-considered and likely to incite public support, were not offensive. Taking umbrage at such remarks seems rather absurd.
  6. The strategic substitutions proved crucial for the victory. Williams' decisions were spot-on, changing the pace of the game at just the right time. It’s credit to Notts' resolve and tactical brilliance.
  7. Forest Green might be the underdogs, but Notts have the chance to control the game. They need to stay calm, set the game’s pace, and create lots of chances. This will keep Forest Green on the defensive. Every Notts player needs to give their all. They should stay alert, focused, and ready to take every chance. With determination and the right mindset, Notts can do well. Football is a mental and physical game. Notts need to trust their skills and play confidently. This can help them control the game and maybe even win. Let’s support Notts as they give their best on the pitch. With the crowd cheering them on, they can achieve great things. Come on, Notts!
  8. The comments from Crowley really drive home how much of an impact philosophy can have on a team's performance. It's not just about individual skill or natural talent, but how well a team can come together to maintain a resilient mindset and a commitment to hard work. These features are indispensable to any successful sports team. Well done, Notts!
  9. Indeed, Notts didn’t want any association with a gang, so they altered the club colours and nickname, subsequently becoming ‘The Magpies’. https://thebeautifulhistory.wordpress.com/clubs/notts-county/
  10. I agree about the careless goals, but they outperformed Notts. It appears as though the door is closed for players vying for positions, which I understand because none of the incoming players excelled, but I do wonder if Luke Williams anticipated this when he fielded a very Jekyll and Hyde starting 11. There was talent, but inexperience compounded the difficulty, as did failing to regroup after Wolves scored the opening goal.
  11. The new signing is average; he should possess the quality for League Two, but I don’t anticipate him making a significant impact. He’s certainly no David McGoldrick.
  12. I’m unsure if there’s a hint of irony in the comment, as I find it hard to take it seriously. Otherwise, I’d suggest it was penned in a fit of pique because the author felt Notts were obliged to win the match. Football doesn’t operate like that, and I’m certain Luke Williams doesn’t despise cup competitions. If that belief is held, it’s simply a nonsensical viewpoint.
  13. Watching Kyle Cameron improve over the matches, along with the team has been inspiring. His goal was a sign of his exceptional skill and was instrumental in bringing Notts towards the top. The road is difficult, but with players like him on our side, reaching the top isn't far from possible. He is setting an example for ambitious players aiming to make their mark. Keep rising, Kyle, the Notts County family is behind you.
  14. As for Connell Rawlinson, I concur with those who acknowledge his shortcomings without holding them against him. We’re aware of his weaknesses and understand that he will occasionally falter. However, over the season, he will get more right than wrong, and it’s up to Williams to keep the errors to a minimum. Even the MK Dons manager recognises that every player makes mistakes and encourages moving on from them.
  15. I must admit, I stopped reading the article after the first paragraph. Perhaps I would have read further had I not skimmed the comments first, but politically, the article falls short.
  16. The painting is lovely, and it’s great to see Meadow Lane featured in his gallery. The club certainly made the right decision in allowing him to do so.
  17. Hello, welcome to the community here @JOHN BOND.
  18. A few years from now, he might be seen playing for a local Home Bargains store. I’ve always felt his name seems computer-generated.
  19. Crowley’s openness about his time at Notts County is encouraging. His genuine enthusiasm for his teammates and the club’s atmosphere highlights their unity and ambition. Success in football hinges on team rapport, and Crowley’s respect for his teammates embodies this. His recognition of individual players’ contributions to his performance provides insight into the team’s dynamics. It underscores the importance of individual talent and collaboration within the team - a proven recipe for success. The club’s future looks promising, as it values teamwork over individualism.
  20. Ruben Rodrigues, while a very good player, wasn’t perfect even in the National League, but he has the ability to influence any game even when his own performances leave room for improvement. He’s what you get. Oxford United fans either have to lower their expectations or understand that he needs time. Some of the comments on their forum make you wonder if they had seen him play for us or even knew they signed him on a free transfer.
  21. The attendances at Meadow Lane have been impressive. I like what the club does for match days. Everything seems much more packaged, and long gone are the days of fans complaining about half-time being boring. Good effort overall; it deserves to be rewarded with higher gates.
  22. MK Dons looked vulnerable in the second half, and Notts did plenty to win the game. They had a few chances that could have turned the tables on us, but overall, I don’t think anyone can complain about the draw without acknowledging that it was a fair result. I don’t think either team did enough to win despite Notts performing better overall in the 90 minutes. We should accept the draw and then hopefully go back to winning.
  23. Neal Bishop will have his reasons; personally, I admire him for taking on the responsibility of managing a team. He was a leader on the pitch, but he may have more employment success in coaching.
  24. Adam Chicksen should be more up to speed, but it really depends on the quality that Will Randall brings to the team. It could be a number of players who get the start. Luke Williams may look to play Jim O’Brien out wide for the experience factor. Personally, I think Chicksen would suit the change just fine.
  25. It’s impressive to read that Notts are in good form right now, and I hope it continues.
