Hello, @Strawb66. Welcome to PON! Do tell us a bit about yourself.
  2. We stand with you, our leader, our captain. In Notts, we have faith! It’s time to forge ahead and get the season back on the right path. Hopefully, we’ll start this Saturday and strive to build some consistent form. There will be some errors, but as long as we’re winning or learning, progress will follow.
  3. Luke Williams is truly commendable, always shielding his team and providing explanations that soothe everyone. Let’s rally behind the team and recreate the magic of the season’s start. That was a remarkable time. Let’s see if we can instigate a change with uplifting chants and exceptional support.
  4. Matt Palmer was a standout player until his injury. David McGoldrick is also worth mentioning, but in the last few league games, Dan Crowley has been playing exceptionally well. That’s why he’s often brought up in discussions. It’s hard to think of anyone else who’s been as consistent. Crowley’s style of play aligns perfectly with our team’s approach.
  5. @Piethagoram, I’m truly sorry to hear about your sister’s situation. It must be tough to see a loved one going through this. It’s encouraging to hear that she seems to be improving, and I hope she makes a full recovery soon.
  6. Personally, I’d prefer if the club owned the stadium and land outright. Considering the problems other clubs have faced with owners exploiting the stadiums, it’s a worry, but I think it’s better for the club to own its assets. Ultimately, it’s up to the Reedtz to decide. If they’re not interested in buying, I respect that. If they do want to buy the land, I hope they’ll consider ways to ensure the ground stays with the club, regardless of who owns Notts County.
  7. I’m hopeful that Notts will kick off with energy and maintain it throughout the game, which I believe would boost the players’ morale. While a clean sheet might be a stretch, I do hope we’ll see an improvement in our defence compared to the Shrewsbury Town match. This game presents a great opportunity to earn 3 points and stay in contention at the top. A loss could see us fall behind in the playoff race. My prediction is a 2-1 win for us.
  8. Most companies care more about their profits and board. They don’t even care about their workers, so why would they care about us? Feargal Sharkey is a typical Dickensian character.
  9. I love Jim’s celebration. It was a fantastic moment. Nobody shows his level of passion.
  10. As a kid, you dream of playing in the FA Cup and scoring on your debut. To do both is truly impressive. I’m not worried about things getting to him. I’m sure there are plenty of people around who will keep him grounded and working hard. For him to break into our team, he still has a lot to do. Who would he push out of the team? Nobody right now, but hopefully in the future, he can compete more closely. His goal is to be good enough to be named on the bench. That’s where he’ll gain experience coming on as a sub.
  11. It’s brilliant when a young player excels. The academy is doing a lot of good work, and I agree, Notts needs to make it worthwhile. Otherwise, it’s pointless. People might say none of them have been good enough, but the only way to know for sure is to give them game time to develop their experience. If not, it’s just untapped potential and somewhat a waste of time. I’m also wary about setting unrealistic expectations, so I hope our young professionals just concentrate on their game.
  12. It’s truly a pity, but he lived his life the way he wanted to. It’s unfortunate that he couldn’t have received help earlier in his life, but perhaps it was his lifestyle that made him so extraordinary. Rest in Peace, Shane McGowan.
  13. We’ve been rather indulged recently, with two matches under the Meadow Lane floodlights. I enjoy such games, but I won’t be there tonight due to the timing. I’m hoping that Macaulay Langstaff can help us advance to the next round, as he seems to perform well against Shrewsbury.
  14. @super_ram, I’m glad to see you’ve won. You contribute more than you might think. @Piethagoram, I’m equally thrilled to see you receive this recognition for all your hard work. Well done to both of you!

  20. The player seems like someone Notts might be interested in, but it all depends on the reliability of the original source. I usually don’t pay much attention to rumours, not even those shared by Tom. It’s always best to wait and see what unfolds. It would be intriguing to see if any reports on this matter emerge.
  21. I don’t believe that safe standing should automatically lead to cheaper tickets, although it’s a good concept. A slight reduction in price seems fair, but removing 100-200 seats for fans who will pay less doesn’t make financial sense. What does make sense, however, is the enhancement of the atmosphere and camaraderie that safe standing brings.
  22. Lewis Macari appears to be a promising talent, but rushing to sign him after only a few appearances seems hasty. I’m not suggesting we shouldn’t consider it, as that would be equally short-sighted. It would be prudent to observe his performance over time. Statistics can be manipulated to fit a narrative, and they only tell half the story of what makes the current Notts team successful.
  23. The long-awaited relief from match day stress is welcome. I hope the club continues to prioritise improvements like this, as it could significantly boost revenue. With recent transformations at The Embankment and Trent Navi, it would be beneficial to encourage spending at Notts instead of these venues. I tend to avoid the Meadow Lane Sports Bar due to its high prices and limited seating. I usually head straight into the ground, and once I turn 18, I’ll likely frequent the bar behind the KOP.
  24. The second half was far from dreadful, largely due to our impressive performance and the four goals we netted. This might create unrealistic expectations, leading people to believe we can consistently deliver such high standards throughout a full match. However, even top-tier teams like Manchester City don’t always shine for the entire 90 minutes. Were we good? Absolutely. Could Notts have performed better? Undoubtedly. But this is a fair reflection of the nature of football.
  25. Mason Bennett was loaned to Bradford City in 2014 by Derby, then in 2018 he came to us on loan also.
