  1. It’s bad for football that players can’t take the time to look after their squad. I remember Notts fans complaining to Notts over allowing Matt Tootle time away from the club. Yet I praised Notts for that decision because you have to put the human side of things first and above everything else. Football is just a game; yes, we are loyal fans who obsess over victory, but not at the cost of someone’s health. I wish Dele Ali all the success that he can gain from getting his career back on track; hopefully, he repays Everton’s loyalty and support too.
  2. I thought a lot of the Stoke players before the changes looked decent. I can’t say I remember much about this player, but if he started in the first half, he falls within the good players.
  3. I hope we are more determined not to make silly mistakes. If the players do, I won’t call or shout nonsense at them, but I would feel disappointed. There are teams who play in friendlies like this, where the result matters. For me, I don’t care as much about winning, more about not embarrassing ourselves, which includes the fans. I would at least hope we find the net; otherwise, I just want to watch two Nottingham teams respecting each other. No doubt some armchair Forest fans will turn up trying it on.
  4. Southend looks awkwardly in deep trouble. I can’t see how this will be resolved by the time they are next due in court. I hate to write this, but where are they getting the money from? Their chairman won’t be paying it.
  5. I don’t know much about them either, but hopefully, they can survive as it’s not easy being in this situation.
  6. We are a good community, @Kevin May. There are plenty of Notts fans who talk and interact, it would be great to see you join in. Welcome to PON.

  8. Barnsley should be punished for this. It sounds unfair and very much like cheating. If the EFL doesn’t know who’s putting in money, how do they protect the club when things go wrong? Though, if it’s been happening since 2017, then it’s taken a while for the charges to be pressed. If they are guilty, then they need to be fined for starters.
  9. I’m not bothered. I think for some fans it will be great, but I’m not fussed about these things.
  10. It sounds like the review was necessary and the suspension justified. It’s his fault he got banned for three games. You can’t strike a player and expect to get away with a yellow card. York City fans need to understand this, remove their rose-tinted glasses, and criticise their player for his foolish decision.
  11. Solid summary of our Summer signings. With the newly added depth and quality, Notts County should be unstoppable this season. Can't wait for it to kick off!
  12. Do you have any pictures of the food you cooked? At least we know who can do the PON BBQ at the end of the season when we are all celebrating promotion again.
  13. Jon Stead should do wonders for Barnsley. I hope he takes to being a league coach because I can imagine it’s better pay than doing your own coaching.
  14. Neil Warnock sounds like a real character. I have seen videos of him ranting at his players and then snapping back into a nice guy. I have seen him kick water bottles in anger, argue with officials, and this is probably the funniest thing.
  15. I am surprised that they haven’t already appointed a new manager at this stage; it makes you wonder what’s going on. If they struggle, it will be one less team to worry about this season.
  16. Spencer Weir-Daley.
  17. I was hoping that Notts would have a community day, but it seems unlikely now that this is happening. I do think it’s a nice touch by Notts. I believe they are hoping to sell more merchandise by doing it during opening hours, which is a clever way to try to increase sales.
  18. I am not sure if I would consider this an upgrade or downgrade for him. I do think he’s a fantastic player, so I wish him well. I hope the move proves to be a good one.
  19. I didn’t think Notts would beat Stoke. I thought we might be able to match them more closely, but there was a lot for the players to get used to in the first half. They pressed, bullied and wouldn’t let us have a second. Young players will always rush and make mistakes, but I don’t see it as being a problem. A stronger squad in the first half would have dealt with it differently, and I continue to encourage Williams to give the right youngsters more game time.
  20. I don’t mind them reducing the number of pages, but if the company they use only does 30, 60, etc., might it be worth looking to see if there are better and cheaper alternatives out there? 30 pages should be fine, but there may be times when a few more pages are needed. Lowering the number should also reduce the time needed to produce the content.
  21. It’s good that Shaun Derry has been re-hired by Crystal Palace under a new regime; Palace must appreciate his coaching. It’s good for him to return to the club.
  22. I am considering joining, but I can’t say if I would commit. I haven’t done much on Twitter, and I sort of regret joining that due to the changes.
  23. They need to make a shirt for the dog, then it could really be a fan! It’s a funny and nice video. The owners are lucky too, that the dog enjoys football as much as they do.
  24. I agree with this; we need to be thankful that we are back in the Football League. The issue is that football is a fickle sport, and some selfish people only think about their own needs without considering the thoughts of others. I think if you hurl abuse at a football match, it says a lot about that type of person in general. I wonder how some of these types would like it if someone shouted abuse at them while they were trying to work? When you think things couldn’t be beaten with how pathetic they seem, some have to go that extra step further and take it out on the players for a friendly defeat.
  25. I think I joined Twitter at the wrong time. At the moment, I just read. I don’t blame Elon Musk for taking action; Treads is a direct copy, but what will come of that, I don’t know.
