  1. I think it’s great news. I most certainly thought he was on his way out of the club. His signature on a two-year deal gives us that final boost going into the season.
  2. Hello, @BigTom91. It's great to have you on PON, we are a very friendly community and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. See you around the site.
  3. Williams seems to have a clear vision for developing our squad; reinforcing the team with new signings whilst having to deal with inevitable departures. David McGoldrick, with his "incredible quality", is a player that sounds promising for our future performances. At the same time, it's a bitter pill to swallow regarding Rodrigues' departure. But it's heartening to see Williams' balanced outlook, acknowledging the player’s personal growth and the opportunity Rodrigues has to express himself at a higher level. It reflects the healthy sportsmanship present in the club - accepting the constant change that happens within football.
  4. I'm over the moon with Nemane signing on for another two years. This is a player who's shown his worth this season. His contributions on both ends of the field and his knack for creating scoring opportunities have made him a vital part of the squad. His agility and speed also make matches dynamic and engaging to follow. Coupled with this, his positive presence in the locker room tells you how much of a team player he really is. His love for the game and the club is clearly visible in his performances, and it's brilliant that we've managed to secure his services for another two years. Looking forward to more thrilling performances from him.
  5. I think some fans are expecting us to compete with Wrexham, but I don’t know how that’s logical or a reasonable comparison considering their owners and interest. I don’t think sales will move much higher myself; the majority of fans will have renewed and signed up for the new season by now. I think it’ll be stragglers and lower ticket prices that stand a chance of increasing sales, rather than full adults. Nonetheless, it’s great to have already sold 5k’s worth!
  6. Next season, I hope the club tries to move this forward. If Puma is unwilling to meet an earlier deadline, then they shouldn’t be our kit supplier and signing the new deal will have been a mistake. I don’t want to come across as if I’m moaning, but I don’t think it reflects well on Puma or Notts to just continue accepting it. The season when we had delays with the shipment of new stock was bad enough, but nothing changes and I completely understand the disappointment.
  7. Matty Palmer's impact on the team goes beyond statistics. He brings leadership and stability to the midfield, since arriving at the club he's been brilliant.
  8. I think building a collection would be a fun thing to do. I have seen videos where people do it, and ones where many of them come from blind boxes. If you’re serious about collecting England shirts, then you need to see if anyone has any going or is interested in swapping.
  9. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, I hope you settle in and have fun @NottsCountyKev.
  10. My parents own a caravan in Skegness, so they took me there again for the weekend. On the first day, we went to a pub in Ingoldmells called The Ship. My mum looked around the shops and I made my way down to near Fantasy Island. I went into a few of the arcades. Then we went into Skegness itself and went onto the beach. It wasn’t that bad there - we did get a bit of rain and thunder. On Sunday, we went for something to eat at the Lumley pub. I went into the pier arcade, went on two-pence pushers and a few machines. We walked around the lake, then had fish and chips before we went home.
  11. I haven’t seen it yet, but it sounds interesting and mysterious. I wasn’t keen on “Lost” when I saw the reruns, but I’ve never watched it completely back to back. I’ll keep an eye on this and try to catch From.
  12. It was a very good interview by Charlie Slater, with many positives and interesting comments. It’s nice to see some different questions being put to David McGoldrick, who does well to answer them.
  13. I like horror films myself. I don’t like those like Annabelle, but I do like Scream and I think they’ve done well to revive the franchise. I’m keen to see how that plays out. I like things like the first two Ghostbusters - the women’s one and the newer one didn’t feel like the originals and that makes me less interested. I might watch some of the films mentioned and give my thoughts on them as I’m sure I could see more that I haven’t before.
  14. His family must have a lot of history within the club. I hope his father passed on accounts of what it was like when Notts played at Trent Bridge and then Meadow Lane when it became our new home. That would be something! It's good to read about various fans' backgrounds, as everyone has their own tale and I think this one shows that our fans do put the club first and foremost, which is an incredible gesture. Having found his partner while supporting Notts is another interesting thing. It stops the rivalry and chance that immediate family won't be fans. Notts has a rich history, so things like this are great to read about. I hope Nigel takes up @CliftonMagpie suggestion - he seems a good fit.
  15. I’m not that fussed, provided it looks like a Notts shirt and doesn’t have any distracting or ugly patterns on it. Some of the shirts released by kit suppliers can be nasty. I get the idea, but they go overkill with the design. A nice patterned away shirt and a traditional home shirt would be nice.
  16. Their Chairman Darryl Eales said Ardley’s departure was “amicable”. The statement on the website reads better than the social media post announcing his departure. Maybe it’s personal reasons why he has asked to quit. I don’t want to speculate further because everyone deserves privacy. I just don’t think it’s due to him wanting a different job.
  17. I use Chrome on both my phone and laptop. It has become the standard these days and I don’t think other browsers make much of a difference. I used to use Firefox on my laptop when the speed difference was noticeable, but I like having everything synced. It makes it super useful to do things when I’m not at home.
  18. I think Crowley's key attributes as a player, such as getting on the ball, creating chances, and dribbling at people, will be really valuable for Notts County. Those are the kind of skills that can break down defenses and create scoring opportunities. ????????
  19. He seems like a good signing on paper. I do feel annoyed reading ignorant comments about Sam Slocombe. I understand that he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but the guy played a big role in the club’s promotion last season. Why do some fans have to single out one or two players just to hate on? I hope Aidan Stone does well for us and avoids these types of “fans”.
  20. I'm really excited about the signing of Aidan Stone as our new goalkeeper. The fact that he played a crucial role in Port Vale's promotion last season shows that he knows how to perform under pressure.
  21. I don’t dwell too much on the fixtures, as I think the players will be happy to get the new season underway and will look at what we have been handed feeling positive. I had wished we could start the season off at home, but that’s wishful thinking and more hope. I don’t mind that it begins with an away game at Sutton; it’s a fairly routine trip. I see no real negatives to point out; there are a few difficult journeys on certain days but that’s to be expected. I am hoping we will get through them without much problem; picking up the points is the aim of the game. Tough or difficult starts on paper aren’t something to worry too much about. I think we should be able to make a promising start if we work hard enough.
  22. Yes, I like this draw myself. I think Notts having a larger squad will ensure we have depth to attempt to further ourselves in the Carabao and FA Cup.
  23. All look to be solid additions to the team, but David McGoldrick is the one that I would say is my favourite signing. Jodi Jones is a game-changer and plays well within the team, as he does by himself. I just think McGoldrick will be a player that brings it all together.
  24. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @NottsLoyal. It's good to have you on here.
  25. I think he still has a chance to make an impact, but he may have to be patient. Injuries and suspensions can happen, and that's when he'll need to be ready to step up.
