  1. League Two has to be the focus, rather than getting caught in the step ahead. If by Christmas Notts are still up there, then it is the time to start planning. I would like to see us be competitive in whatever league we are in and before promotion, I hope that this is the minimum expectation. So when we do finally get to League One, we understand the importance of finishing above mid-table. Finishing as high as possible will need to be the target. If in the future we manage to chase for a title like we did during this last season, it’s further evidence that the foundations and direction are right.
  2. The news of Jim’s extension was brilliant. To get it sorted and to know he will be a part of our League Two return makes me so happy. He was one of the few players who felt what the fans did when we lost to Swindon. He stuck with us, despite the fact others would have been interested.
  3. We won’t know what the CEO is really like, but I hope they are good with PR and can write supportive updates to get the fans onside. Jason Turner was very good with his communication; it felt personal and directed at you.
  4. I don’t know this player, but he could be good. I doubt Notts will chase players that aren’t, so we just need to wait. They will soon start arriving. The fact that the club is taking time to bring in players so far makes me feel like we are trying to buy some of the signings we need.
  5. Jodi Jones’ free kick to set England back? We’re all wishing him well as he prepares to help Malta. It’s going to be a tough match, but I am invested in seeing how he does against some of England’s best players.
  6. These articles focusing on the fans are fabulous; this one and the one about Tony were brilliant. Tony would make a good member of PON if he came on board. Judging by his comments, he would fit in well.
  7. It’s good to read about his self-confidence in his ability. I think he’s a superb footballer and his experience is very handy to have in our squad. I hope he thrives this upcoming season and proves to those doubters that he still has it.
  8. I am impressed with David McGoldrick’s loyalty to the club. It is clear that he has joined us for the right reasons. Choosing happiness over money shows that he has a good character. Despite losing Ruben, it is an exciting time and I am pleased that he has joined us.
  9. I am delighted that Jim has stuck with us and given the club one more year. He has the experience to help influence the players and he still has the ability.
  10. Jodi Jones looks class for Malta. He plays sort of like Ronaldo did for Portugal when he was younger - with freedom and able to move into the play in order to help create it.
  11. Dean Leacock was at the club when I was much younger. He always had shiny hair as if he used too much hair product. I thought he was fine for League One, just not promotion quality.
  12. It’s terrible news. I hate when things like this happen because you are always second-guessing yourself as to if it could happen again. I feel sorry for the families affected too, it’s just horrible. I can’t help but find myself feeling down about such a thing happening in Nottingham of all places.
  13. Oxford United isn’t the most exciting team for him to join. Will he make a big impact there? I think so, but they don’t have the quality to mount a serious Championship push in my eyes and I think he will need time to adapt to seeing better players playing against him.
  14. I wish Ruben all the best. I have some great memories of him playing for Notts and I stand behind my thoughts in the discussion.
  15. I don’t think anyone really believed he would sign a new deal at Notts. He seemed off the moment we made the playoffs, but he still gave it his all. I also don’t blame him for deciding to take a step up, but I think joining Oxford United shows that either Championship teams weren’t interested or willing to pay him more, or that he believes Oxford plays a similar style to us and that it suits him better. I don’t see them progressing in the way that we can; they have lost their promotion momentum.
  16. This isn't the first time it's happened. I thought I had been posting in the wrong discussion, but it just happened. I went to post using the topic feed page and my post ended up in a different location. It happened here too, only just noticed that it had.
  17. Does anyone know much about him? I haven’t heard the name. His playing history seems like a signing we would have made before the Reedtz came in.
  18. Bury should be able to work with Dickinson and his limited defending. Probably a good signing for them. BUG... I did not post the original message that this shown.
  19. Interesting story by Charlie. You have to appreciate the way he drifts away from the point and how he goes about it.
  20. That’s our Macaulay Langstaff for another season. After his efforts, he must have earned this award and the player of the year, etc.
  21. I remember when he signed for Burnley, I think. They did the whole Non-League to Premier League thing and it didn’t work out as intended, but he looks like a good player. This is one of the better rumours for me. By the way, when I posted using the topic feed, my post was incorrectly sent here.
  22. I went to Skegness yesterday for a day trip with my family. It was scorching hot and quite busy as expected with the warm weather. Today, I am trying to keep cool while watching videos.
  23. I have nothing against him and think he’s a good player, but we have to consider younger options. If he signed, we would have to wish him well and support him. However, I hope that’s not the case.
  24. Welcome back to Meadow Lane, Dave McGoldrick! I hope you stay determined and focused throughout the season and score plenty of goals. If you read PON and my message, I bet you can’t outscore Macca or Cedwyn Scott. ????
  25. He must work to earn his place on the team, but I believe he will succeed and hopefully score early on. This would boost his confidence. He speaks confidently and now that it has officially happened, we can begin assembling the rest of the squad. Despite stating in his interview with Notts that money isn't everything, I bet he will receive a decent wage.
