  1. Notts absolutely smashed it against Maidstone with a 5-2 win! ???????????? That definitely put some pressure on Wrexham, especially after they slipped up and let Boreham Wood score that easy lob. Poor Ben Foster got mugged off there. But let’s talk about our boys. Jim O’Brien with the hattrick! Absolute legend! And massive respect to Ruben Rodrigues for giving up the spot kick duties. That was an incredibly kind gesture. The players have responded so well and they seem fired up. Let’s keep this momentum going! Come on Notts County! ????????????
  2. We’ve been playing our hearts out this season and we deserve to go up. The playoffs are our time to shine and show everyone what we’re made of. And massive respect to Ryan Reynolds for his positive comments about our club. It’s incredibly kind of him and it shines a positive light on us. Come on Notts County, let’s do this! ????????????
  3. There's nothing wrong with signing players for free; the issue arises when you purchase the wrong players or randomly select them based on their previous club affiliations. In the past, we used to acquire players from various teams - some were good, some okay, but most were average or poor. I believe that building a team around sensible fees is better because these tend to attract proven players with a track record or upcoming talent, unlike spending £300k on a striker just because the chairman fancies them. The team that relegated Notts to the National League wasn't bad on paper, but we recruited the wrong free agents. Ross Fitzsimons and the defenders in front of him took us down, but if we had a better goalkeeper, we might have had a better chance. Currently, we are signing the best players and captains from other clubs, and it seems to be working. The most significant advantage is that we're able to sign players who can mentor the upcoming talent. I honestly believe that we'll be able to produce better players by leveraging other clubs' talent, but it requires a lot of research during recruitment. A good manager can also make a significant difference.
  4. I can't really recall him either, to be honest. His name doesn't ring a bell. Was he with the club during our time in League One? I don't really recollect many of the fringe players from that period in time.
  5. I think there is a fairly high chance that the game will be slow-paced. It's unlikely that Notts will score early and I have a feeling that we might have to make a comeback. I really hope that none of our players will receive a red card for something silly. I'm not sure why, but I just have this sense that either they will score first or one of our key players will be sent off. I know I shouldn't worry too much and should wait and see what happens on the day. Having said that, I do believe that Notts will be able to overcome any obstacles that come their way. However, there may be some after-effects of the game that could impact the team. I don't think the game will be straightforward, but I still predict that Notts will win 2-1, with goals from Langstaff and Chicksen. On the other hand, I believe Wrexham will win their game and be crowned champions.
  6. No, I don't actually know anyone on the site, but that fact doesn't deter me from interacting with others. I am quite open to discussing the club and I'm happy to interact with anyone who may wish to engage with me. Initially, I used to attend games alongside my parents, but now I usually go alone.
  7. Oh, well, I think Notts County is really cool because it's actually the oldest professional football club in the world, which is pretty impressive, you know? And their stadium, Meadow Lane, has this sort of classic feel to it that I really like. Plus, they do a lot of community work, which is great. Overall, it's just a really special club that's different from others in a lot of ways.
  8. The goals were skillfully executed, all three of them, despite Aaron Nemane seeming to forget how to strike a ball while airborne.
  9. It's a positive step for him; I was unaware that he had departed from Chesterfield or had even joined a team in January this year. I observed that he exhibited elegance on occasion, and if a manager could encourage him to be more consistent, he would be an excellent acquisition.
  10. Science has helped us understand loads about our world and the universe. Some people might find the idea of a multiverse a bit weird though, 'cos it's in Marvel and that. But it's actually a theory that some scientists have come up with to explain some stuff in our universe. We don't have to believe in it, but we should keep an open mind and keep learning about science.
  11. I really enjoy hearing chants at football matches, and I think it adds to the overall atmosphere and excitement of the game. I hope that Notts fans embrace this tradition and come up with some new chants for the upcoming season. It would be great to see the fans really getting behind the team and creating a lively and supportive environment for the players.
  12. Is it because we've done so well that the season feels so short? It doesn't seem that long ago since we played the friendlies. I think the fantastic start to the season gave the players a lot of confidence. The fight and passion came alive with every winning streak we started. I know there was that one brief spell where we lost after winning or drawing for what seemed like half of the season. We struggled for a few games, but those moments are what cast other teams from being a promotion contender.
  13. I feel guilty for admitting this, but I only know bits and pieces. I recall news stories from some time ago about the justice, but I never became engaged with it. Sometimes it’s easier to be a little ignorant when you’re young, but that doesn’t diminish my wish that more people had survived. I sometimes confuse this with the fire that I believe Bradford City had.
  14. I believe that Luke Williams is beginning to feel the pressure. This is likely due to fans who claim that our season will have been a failure if the club is not promoted this time. This seems to be causing Williams to feel more pressure in his approach. I appreciate his honesty and his passionate manner of speaking, but I think he made some mistakes in what he said after the game.
  15. I believe that the Non-League restricts club growth at a time when it is becoming increasingly popular to watch these types of teams. It may be worth merging the North and South leagues into two mixed leagues and having regionally-based leagues beneath them.
  16. "Throw away the key," I would say. I would be annoyed if his mental state became an excuse. You don't get a job with the military, leak important documents just because you wanted people to pay more attention to you. That's a di** move.
  17. Sometimes it seemed like neither side was going to score the winning goal. I didn't think Woking looked like a team sitting in third place but rather mid-table. They lost the ball too easily, and fortunately for them, we didn't know what to do with it in the first half. I thought Notts created some good chances in the first 45 minutes. I don't believe it was a dire or particularly bad performance. It just wasn't the usual standard that we've come to expect, and sometimes that happens. Notts stepped out of first gear with a few changes, and it unlocked a lot of space. I think Austin is playing the best football we've seen from him. It's difficult to imagine him being dropped when he's performing so well. I struggled to understand William's post-match comments when he was asked if it was his best performance to date. I believe it was. There are times when he looks quality, but yesterday he looked unstoppable, and we need that from more players. It was a good game, and both teams played well. It was a pleasure to watch, and I'm glad I went. Despite not being the usual standard, it was still a great performance from Notts. I'm excited to see what they can do in the next game and hope they continue to improve for the playoffs.
  18. You know that Notts has a lot of fans who show their support to the players? The team really cares about our club, so I hope everything settles down soon. One thing that could help would be if we beat Woking with a convincing win. I know I said that the results don't matter in the grand scheme of things because Notts has already secured second place. However, as a club, including the fans, it's up to us to encourage the players from this point forward. They will feel disappointed and upset about the Wrexham game, and if any of them happen to read PON, they should know that support means exactly that.
  19. In the grand scheme of things, the results don't really matter until the playoffs start, but it's always a good thing to keep winning. Some fans moaned about Notts losing last time, saying it was all over, but look how they responded! I'm confident that we can get promoted, as long as we avoid making the same mistakes and learn to improve from them. Woking will be a good test, as they're one spot below us, but ultimately we can afford to lose these next three games. It's the two after that we can't afford to lose.
  20. Nobody really knows for sure, we can only speculate, but I feel like he will have enjoyed his time here enough to want to stay for at least another season. He signed a three-year deal, so unless someone offers him stupid money, which would then be reinvested, I think he'll stick around. Whatever he decides, I'll respect it, but I believe both us and Langstaff have the potential to grow together. He seems smart enough to realise that he's building a legacy and a legendary status here while perfecting his craft.
  21. I might be one of the few, but we lost and we need to get over it. We don't have the right to win every game, and losing is always going to be a part of the game. Whether it's a situation like the Dagenham match where we got robbed by the officials or the Wrexham game, the players need to give their best and focus on things they can control. Personally, I refuse to cry over losing. It's not like Wrexham completely outclassed us. Let's just learn from our mistakes and move on.
  22. Welcome @Dry Nelson Ray,
  23. When you've been at a club as long as Jason Turner was, a lot of yourself ends up being put into your work. In my opinion, his biggest legacy will be the foundations he helped to build. Things at the club could've been a lot different if it wasn't for his knowledge and willingness to strive for better. It's clear to see from all the glowing things mentioned in the tribute videos that he made a huge impact. One thing that stands out to me is how he went above and beyond his typical role as a CEO. He would visit the players when they signed, and made sure that everyone was okay. It's little things like this that show how much he cared about the club and the people in it. His dedication to making sure that things were running smoothly is something that I think we will all miss. I think that Jason Turner was an incredible asset to the club and his hard work and dedication will not be forgotten.
  24. Players prior to the Reedtz brothers appear to be those on the decline, rather than on the rise. There are a few exceptions, but I believe it is a sign of how poor the recruitment used to be. Players were chosen based on chance, with little effort made to understand the dynamics of the player. I believed Zeli was good, but not very reliable.
  25. Next season, who would be against Netflix doing a rival to 'Welcome to Wrexham' and producing a 'This is Meadow Lane' mini-documentary series? Pride of Nottingham and @ARLukomski should pitch the idea.
