  1. Good luck to the lad, he’s a decent player who could make a big difference to them. Needs to bulk up a bit though as he is too lightweight in my eyes.
  2. Best trip is easy and would be the second Wembley visit to regain our place in the top flight back in 1991. Worst is a difficult one, and I would probably go with the day that we drove all the way to Wigan, sat down in the pub enjoying a pint when somebody came in to say that the game was abandoned as the pitch wasn’t fit. The drive homemade us feel a lot better though, as it was the day that Forest were beaten by United 8-1 at the City Ground. Will always remember Martin Fisher on the radio begging the referee to stop the game after the last goal went it.
  3. Probably my fondest memories were during the 90’s, when I finally had transport so could travel to away games to watch Notts on a regular basis. Used to have some great days put up and down the country. I very seldom go to away games nowadays, but hoping to go to a few this season with them being more local. Other than that, all of the Wembley visits have been special, and I’ve been lucky enough to go to all apart from the Covid year. Got to say though that I preferred the old Wembley experience to the new, the area has changed so much since my first trip there to watch us beat Tranmere.
  4. Never heard of him, but that isn’t a bad thing judging by a lot of our signings these last few years. Looking at Tom Williams’ thread on twitter, he looks like something we need and will get the coaching needed to improve the areas he is weak on. Interesting that he is right footed but prefers to play on the left, whilst we also have JJ, who is left footed but prefers to play on the right. Can see them both being on the pitch and inter changing positions throughout a game. Could be a Nemane, or a Ruben replacement on face value and could even signal a change of system dynamic if needed.
  5. @liampiehas nailed it, and there are still a lot of questions that need answering on how long he knew the lad before he had an affair with him. Officially Schofield has said 15, but there are also reports that it was a lot longer than that. Very suspiciously, his agents have dropped him like a stone. It is all very, very iffy and the press are like a dog with a bone and they won’t let this lie until the whole truth comes out.
  6. Very happy with Sam signing and the fact that we are looking for another keeper to challenge for the position. Sam has weaknesses to his game but he is still a solid keeper for League Two and knows the system. Now expecting Jim to be announced tomorrow and 1 of the main 3 (Cameron?) on Friday. Anyone not agreeing this week will probably be leaving as we cannot hang on forever for a decision.
  7. Not fair, I’m on holiday so not concentrating on it! ????
  8. Did his career finish in the 90’s?
  9. Cheers, it was amazing and well worth the entry fee! Fortunately, the weather has been nice so far, not too hot at around 23 degrees and dry. Hoping it stays that way for the next couple of days.
  10. Not done much to be fair. Tidied up the house, drove to Birmingham, stayed in a hotel overnight, then flew to Athens this morning for a few days! Shattered and been to sleep for a couple of hours, but just woke up so surfing t’web till I can get back to sleep. Off up the Acropolis in the morning.
  11. Same here @Fan of Big Tone. The represented their country at two sports has thrown me as I’m thinking football and cricket logically, but can only think of William Gunn, but he didn’t play for a Manchester team. The other logical guess is Kevin Nolan, but he didn’t play for his country. I’m stumped.
  12. Welcome @Ohh Tommy Johnson, named yourself after my favourite Notts player. I too was also a big fan of McCulloch’s back in the day.
  13. I fully expect Ruben to leave, and I think he will go back to the continent to be closer to his family as I seriously doubt another EFL club would interest him (obviously I could be miles out as I normally am).
  14. I’m not too fussed by what they do to be honest, I didn’t used to mind them as a kid growing up in the 70s, but hated them after they won the league because most kids in my school suddenly went from being Liverpool supporters to supporting Forest. The one bonus to them staying up is the fact that tickets will become even harder to get hold of, so new football fans to the area may well decide to come and watch a progressive stylish football club instead! ????
  15. The McGoldrick link is understandable with him being a Notts fan, but there is no way at 35 years old he could do the amount of pressing that Langstaff does and it would mean a complete change to our system. I think it’s a non starter.
  16. Good luck @Fan of Big Tone. Eighteen months ago both my wife and me had health checks and we decided that we had to lose some weight. We did not cut out the alcohol completely but did cut right back to sharing a bottle of wine on a Saturday. We found it easier to stay on track knowing that we would have that treat at the end of the week. We basically cut out all of the rubbish we ate and moved more. I lost over 3 stone and my wife nearly 4. Touch wood, we have both kept the weight off so far, but won’t be returning to our old ways.
  17. Yes, very sad to hear that as I also remember his account name. rest in peace Pete.
  18. Has me stumped does this. The only name I came up with was Ian Hendon, but he didn’t play as a centre half.
  19. From that list I would definitely take Jesse Debrah, I think he has massive potential. I prefer @Piethagoramlist to be honest. Both CLE and Dallas would be great signings with a full pre season as preparation. I also like Omar Sowunmi, but I don’t think his passing is that great and we seem to now like the general all rounders. Would not surprise me if we didn’t sign any of them though as Radar has a habit of blindsiding us all.
  20. Hmm, I’ve had to make my decision based on the current squad, so plumped for top half. Currently, our high line will kill us without a personnel overhaul, plus I’ve gone with the fact we may not have Ruben or Macca (hoping I’m wrong). It all depends on our recruitment, if we address our week areas and add more pace, then I could see us going straight up again. I’m looking forward to the summer merry go round.
  21. Good guess @upthepieswhich has made me think of another current player, John Bostock. Born in Camberwell, played across Europe and also Toronto. Plus he never stays at a club for that long (well, not since his Spurs days).
  22. If 5 of the 7 that have been offered contracts sign, I will be very happy, if more than that sign, then I will be ecstatic! Very happy Sam has been offered a new deal, I doubt he will start, but would be a great backup, same with Connell, who is arguably our best out and out “defender” but his mobility and general footballing skills are limited. Could see him up line up against more physical teams, but doubt he will play many games.
  23. Well played @Fan of Big Tone, he was on my initial list of 3 players I thought it could be. Unfortunately, I tried to eliminate the wrong one first!
  24. I’m going to have to nick a stock question on here, did he ever play for Derby? (Sorry @super_ram????)
  25. Got to admit that I haven’t watched Teamtalk for several years, not since Christian Hewitt left the station. Does Adrian Rawden still represent the Notts fans on it? If it wasn’t for Notts fans kicking off and shaming them, the council would probably have just ignored us and given Forest an open top bus parade to celebrate staying up!
