  1. Despite rather dull performances at Weymouth and Sollihull Moors, Dallas may find more room for development at Gillingham. That being said, Gillingham's squad and management style might not gel well with Dallas's playing style. Only time will tell if this is a good match.
  2. Most of these celebrity stories are designed to feed into the curiosity of audiences. It’s like a reality show offering viewers a snippet into their lives.
  3. This is excellent news, and I didn’t think it would happen either. I thought the lure of Portsmouth would take him away from us. Seeing him sign a 2-year deal with Notts is the best news. He’s a very talented wing-back who has excelled with more game time.
  4. It's a delight to witness Matty Palmer's growth as a player. He keeps getting better and better.
  5. Hello @nottsfan81, I am a new member myself and I welcome you to PON. You will find the site engaging, just set aside some time and enjoy.
  6. As a relatively new member to the site, I can tell you it's a great place to talk about the club. Welcome to PON, @BigTom91.
  7. It's always a beautifully rewarding moment when hard work and dedication are recognised. Aaron Nemane's newly penned two-year contract with Notts County is solid proof of this. Nemane, with his fine-tuned skills, has proven to be an instrumental player for the club, providing both offensive and defensive contributions, entirely deserving of this recognition. Moreover, his unique characteristics which include speed, a low centre of gravity, and close control make him one of the most compelling players to watch on the field. These attributes coupled with the club's continued faith in him to provide the platform to realise his full potential is exciting. The squad's positive comments about him just further solidify the anticipation for what lies ahead.
  8. A true legend of the game, Mick Vinter left an indelible mark on English football. May his soul rest in peace.
  9. It sounds like the pre-season games against Stoke and Forest will be a brilliant opportunity for Williams to assess his squad's progress. These matches against higher-level teams often reveal a lot about the current state of the squad.
  10. I can relate to Nigel so much! Notts County has been such a big part of my life as well, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
  11. I absolutely agree with you, @TheSkipper. Having broader black and white stripes and no collar would give it a more classic look. The yellow away kit with a touch of Nottingham green sounds fantastic. Looking forward to the release.
  12. Good luck to him. There’s something that has attracted us to signing him and I don’t think we sign players for the sake of it anymore.
  13. My favourite signing is Dan Crowley. However, all of the signings will have my full support. I think they will all do well.
  14. It’s largely fine. The Tranmere away game after the new year will be difficult for those who party on New Year’s Eve, but it will be one hell of a fixture. At least we are at home on Boxing Day! Also, there is potential for fancy dress for Halloween.
  15. The fact that Jodi Jones remains humble and doesn't boast about this act of kindness from Maddison on social media just shows what type of character he is. Well done to both players!
  16. I still have to pinch myself sometimes just to remember that we finally have owners who genuinely care about the club and its fans. They've done a remarkable job so far and continue to work hard to bring success to Notts County.
  17. The Bournemouth situation is illustrative of the fact that, in football, there's often no time for sentiment or loyalty. O'Neil did a great job there, but it seems like the club had their sights set elsewhere and were just waiting for the right moment to make a change.
  18. This is a very shrewd and sensible signing. I have to say, we are assembling a very good squad. I can see Dan Crowley fitting in. He gives us depth in key areas and players will have to perform to get into the starting 11. I am delighted by this news.
  19. Favourite Football Kit? The 86 Notts home shirt. Best ground you've been to? Anfield Favourite player growing up? Don Masson Who is your GOAT? Don Masdon Favourite Football Video Game? Premier Manager 98 Favourite Football-based Movie? When Saturday Comes Favourite Football Documentary? Unsure First football match? If you could watch just 1 football match for the rest of your life what would it be? I will think and edit this Football never existed, what's your go to alternative? Darts You can change 1 decision in football history, what would it be? To allow the hand of God goal to stand. England may have go on to pull off an upset with out that incident.
  20. It’s strange but amusing how events unfold. At the time, the 119-minute winner seemed unlikely even though Notts kept persisting. To repeat it after suffering the same fate is one of football’s mysteries. This is magnificently written, Bill. I believe our worst fears became part of the happiest periods supporting the club under those difficult circumstances. I wouldn’t change a thing. Our day at Wembley will live with me forever.
  21. Jim is a true pro, even at his age. Remaining a squad player. I would have been more upset to see him retire than I was to see Ruben leave. One thing seemed more likely and after his comments about going again I thought he would sign a new deal.
  22. To play devil’s advocate, he says this now that he’s reached the heights he did and after being a successful Championship striker. He didn’t think to come back sooner? If it’s not all about money, that is. Obviously, the timing is right, and it might be more about preserving his career, but I am glad he’s returned.
  23. I trust the Reedtz to bring in someone sensible. It would be nice if they have a pre-existing connection to the club, but that does seem unlikely. Whoever comes in will have to talk to people about Jason, just to get an idea of how much he meant to everyone.
  24. He’s not a name I am all that familiar with, but I think a player like him wouldn’t slip through our current recruitment system and if he did, well I think there would be realistic reasoning behind that.
  25. He put three good years of his career towards giving Notts a safe return to the Football League. Ruben came in and played a part in adding the foundations where we can push on. While I am saddened to see him leave for Oxford, I understand it and would thank Ruben Rodrigues for the way he contributed to the history of our club. He left it in a far better state than in which he arrived.
