  1. Quite a cool way to look at the season. Things I'd forgotten - Wrexham's slow start, York's collapse, Southend's up and down year (they should challenge next year), Oldham's recovery from an awful first half.
  2. Luton - the other team who went down with us and have never played in the Prem... Coventry - who we saved from the drop by beating Luton on the last day of that season (let's not go into more recent history)... Or Middlesbrough, who we beat on the way up in 91? I know who I'd like to see go up. And we can dream.
  3. Had we not gone up then I could have seen him leaving. But I believe that he already has his sights on winning with Notts next season.
  4. Chicksen didn't have his best game on Saturday, but both the wing backs have been superb all season.
  5. Funniest? Dave Regis scoring at Wembley with a pelvic thrust. Or "off his midriff" as that nice polite Mr Slater put it. Weirdest was possibly John Fashanu swallowing his tongue and Steve Cherry possibly saving his life. One of the blokes I was with said "I've got a body bag in my boot". He wasn't kidding - he worked for a funeral director. Then there was the game against Darlington when the County Road started singing "we hate Geordies"... and then Darlo fans joined in and then carried on after the Notts fans stopped.
  6. I liked what Jodi Jones said after the match; that he didn't panic at half time - Notts could have been 3-0 up after 15 minutes, so there was no reason why they couldn't score 3 after the break. Jodi's taken a while to settle, and until his cross for the equaliser wasted a few opportunities yesterday, but he's clearly a quality player. Nemane's clearance was also one of the moments of the season for me. He kept us in it.
  7. I moved to Southwell in 1978. I was a 10-year-old Liverpool fan (with a bit of Lincoln City, following the 4th division championship in 1975/6). Over the next 2 years it seemed that everyone who wasn't already supporting Forest jumped on the bandwagon. I refused to. County was the only sensible choice, and I became more of a fan when I went to University and trips to watch County home or away became a reason to go home for the weekend, or to meet up with others from Notts. How do I cope? I hate them. Always will. And I hate them even more when their fans show up at Meadow Lane like they did on Sunday or against Yeovil and Halifax for a cheap day out. OK; "hate" is a strong word, and I don't have any real animosity towards their fans. At least they're supporting a local team. But I do hate how we're treated as an afterthought. And I don't like that most of their fans don't regard us as a local rival and seem to quite like us. The City Is Ours. County til I Die. ...but I'm also a Scotland fan, so I make an exception for Archie Gemmill.
  8. Sainsbury’s car park at Willesden Green. Easy to get to get to if you’re coming down the M1 or A1. Book it at justpark.com - £5.15 all day. 5 minute walk to Willesden Green, 6 minutes on the Jubilee line to Wembley Park. A few decent eating places near the station, including this one - https://www.beerandburgerstore.com/stores#willesden i have to drive to London every couple of weeks for work and always park there.
  9. Let's not forget seven appearances and a couple of goals for England U21. Might have had more had he not been competing with Shearer.
